Chapter 111: Chapter 111
Jace, dressed in black pants and a denim jacket, stood outside Blue Moon Private Hospital while holding a bouquet of Lillies. His dashing appearance caught the attention of the bystanders, who admired him with appreciative looks.
"When did you come? How long have you been standing here?" Jasmine said, grinning sweetly from behind.
"Not too long," he responded nonchalantly. "So are the results out? Did you make it?" Jace asked eagerly, staring into her eyes and studying her every expression.
"Will I be standing in front of you, smiling like a fool if I didn't get in? Of course, I got in, idiot," Jasmine exclaimed excitedly as she rushed into his embrace, hugging him tightly.
"I know you'd get in. I'm so very proud of you," Jace whispered lightly as he caress her back.
After her internship program ended at the hospital, Jasmine applied for a permanent position as a nurse, and today was the day the results of the test she took came out, which she aced, earning her the position she had always wanted.
"Did you get these flowers for me?" Jasmine asked with pouty lips as she took the flowers from him.
"It's for you, princess. I will get you one of these every day we go on a date," Jace announced, placing the strands of her hair behind her ear before planting a kiss on her cheek.
Jasmine blushed shyly, she had wanted to turn him down after finding out their age gap but after Jace's persistent wooing, she finally agreed with the condition that they go on three dates and see if they are compatible with each other.
"Come on, let's go celebrate your win," Jace held her hand as they both walked towards his car.
Jace knocked on the window of the front passenger seat, and the tinted glass gently rolled down, revealing a fair-skinned boy with brown curly hair and blue eyes who had a smirk on his face.
"Dude, get off! Didn't I tell you this earlier?" Jace shot him a deadly look and pulled the door to the passenger seat open.
The brown-curly-haired dude, who goes by the name Josh, got out and flashed a dashing smile at Jasmine. "Hi, I'm Josh," he extended his hand for a handshake.
Jasmine gave a quick glance at Jace before turning back to Josh. "Jasmine," she said with a smile while shaking hands with him.
"Indeed a beautiful name for a beautiful young lady. It's nice meeting you for the second time, Jasm?"
"What do you mean for the second time? Have we perhaps met before?" Jasmine demanded as she eyed him suspiciously.
"Oh, he didn't tell you? Actually, I'm the guy who made it possible for the two of you to be together. What I mean to say is that I'm the guy who drugged you that night at the club." He touched his nose awkwardly.
"Can you at least give me a lift?"
"The sports car only has two seats, which is for me and my love," Jace replied, helping Jasmine with the door before getting into the passenger seat.
Jace gave him the middle finger, and zoomed off, leaving confused Josh standing like a statue.
"Is this something you were planning to tell me? That your friends were the ones who had gotten me drugged?"
"Of course. I promise. I intend to tell you once we define what we share, Jasm."
"I can't believe they played me for a fool that night like I was a tool in your silly games."
" You know it's also not my fault and I didn't have any idea about it. Look, let's not think about anything else. Let's just enjoy what we have now"
...
Andrea stepped out of the elevator, putting on a cream-colored shirt and a nude pencil skirt that stopped below her knees. Her black curly hair was styled in a messy bun, giving off a sophisticated aura.
She stepped into a café right opposite the company and, as she stood by the counter ordering what to eat, Melissa walked up to her with a gentle smile.
"Hello, Andrea. Do you remember?" Melissa asked curiously.
"Yeah. Melissa, right? You are the same lady who came to the twins' birthday party and also Sean's friend."
"Right. Would you like to grab lunch with me?" She kindly inquired. "Sure," Andrea replied with a smile after giving it great consideration.
She suddenly remembered the time when there were rumors circulating around that Melissa's husband had a mistress and a child. Andrea couldn't help but wonder if they were true, although she didn't intend to ask. Surprisingly, Melissa began to open up.
"Andrea, I'm sure Sean must have told you about our little history."
"No, he didn't. What's that about?"
"Oh, that's quite shocking but actually great at the same time. I would love to tell you myself, at least it's less embarrassing."
"So the thing is, I once had a crazy crush on Sean Wilson. It got so intense to the point I started stalking him, and then eventually, I courted him." She suddenly paused and silence followed for some seconds. "Trust me, he had no single interest in me."
"Then you gave up?" Andrea asked as she arched her brows.
"Yeah, I did, even though I didn't want to at the time. I really wanted the best for Sean, and as the only heir to the Wilson family, certainly they would want to continue their legacy. So when I found out I couldn't conceive a child, I decided to let him go."
Andrea froze from shock; she didn't expect this to be the reason. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked." She immediately apologized. She couldn't relate to Melissa's pain after all, she's blessed with two beautiful daughters.
Melissa smiled bitterly, her grip on her coffee mug tightening. "It's fine. I don't have a problem talking about it. At least I got married to my husband, he has been the best support system I could ever ask for. Sadly, I can't give him a child."
"It hurt me when that bitch from nowhere came and tried to tarnish Quinn's image by claiming to be his mistress and baby's mama. Trust me, they were all lies; it was someone trying to mess with the company."
You could consider adoption. I think it's quite cool there are kids out there who are yearning for a mother's love, and I'm sure you'd be an amazing mother—any child would be lucky to have you in their life."
"Thank you so much, Andrea." Melisa said sincerely with a warm smile.
Leaving the company, Andrea headed towards her car in the parking lot when she spotted a familiar red Mercedes Benz parked next to hers. A mischievous smile played on her lips as she knocked on the tinted glass, which rolled down, revealing Sean.
"What a surprise! Mr. Wilson. Aren't you busy at the office?" Andrea glanced at her wristwatch and realized it was 5 p.m.
"I wanted to spend time with my darling wife and kids, Mrs. Wilson. Don't just stand there staring at me, come on get in." Sean said and opened the front passenger seat for her.
After settling down in the car, Sean started the engine, and as they drove towards their home, Andrea's phone began to ring. "Hello" she said as she answered the call.
"I can't today. I'm on my way home already."
' No you can't come pick me up. I'm with Sean."
" Don't. You two are going to get into a quarrel again"
"Alright then. I promise. Goodbye" Andrea said before hanging up.
"Is it Jacob once more?" Sean demanded frowning.
"What do you mean once more?"
"I mean you and him have been hanging out often these days. Doesn't he have a girlfriend?"
"Sean, are you jealous?" Andrea demanded with a mischievous smirk playing on her lips. "You know Jacob is just my big brother, and it's normal for siblings to spend quality time together."
"I mean if he finds a girlfriend, he might not bother you as much." Sean also defended himself.
"Sean, is that what this is all about? You coming to pick me up from work. Wait a minute, what's that smell?" Andrea asked while narrowing her eyes. "What smell?" Sean responded nonchalantly.
"I sense jealousy." Andrea stuck out her tongue cutely and burst into laughter while holding her stomach.
