“ Stop lying” She said. “ I swear I heard them mentioned her name. I heard the Boss telling him he overheard Bella and Mary talking about Jonah in the kitchen few days ago” She said and They exchanged glances. “ Oh my God, he heard us speaking about Jonah. This is a Good start” Mary said excitedly. “ Oh Bella, I’m So happy for you” She hugged Bella. “ Let’s hope he fall for you too like you do” Abby prayed and hugged Bella too. “ Thanks girls, you are the best”
“ We are here” Jonah said as they came down the stairs. “ To the dining Table” She said and they went straight to the dining and sat on a chair each. Mandy also got up and found a chair but this time, she sat closer to Grandma and for the first time ever, Alfred heaved a sigh of relief. She made them pray for minutes before they started eating, Alfred and Jonah wanted to talk but Grandma stopped them.
“ Table manners” She said Without raising up her head from the plate. She mumbled and complained for each Spoon of food that went in to her mouth. “ These girls know nothing. Is this what they have been feeding you in this house? No wonder you are so skinny” She Nagged. “ But there’s Nothing wrong with the food” Jonah said and Alfred nodded his head. “ Yes, The food is Yummy” He said and Grandma Chuckled. “ They’ve fed you with this that is why you can’t differentiate Good food from not So Good food. And you” She turned to Jonah
“ How dare you Say something in front of me? Don’t you know I’m still angry with you? Do not say a word until I ask you to” Grandma said and he nodded his head. “ And to teach you a lesson not to ever Run away from home, you will move here starting from Today. Don’t even think of running away from this City again because if you do, I’ll erase your name from this family. You know I can do that right?” She asked him and he nodded his head. He knew she was going to say that and so he was already prepared.
“ Why aren’t you opposing?” She asked him when he didn’t say a word “ Because He knew you would say it and so, he was prepared for it” Mandy said and he Bit his upper lip. “ Is that so?” She asked him “ No, Because you are my Grandma and anything you want is what I will do” Jonah said grumpily. “ Good. But does that mean you are trying to say Mandy is lying?” She asked him and he sighed. “ Grandma, can we just eat and go sleep? I’m already exhausted” He said Worriedly. “ You haven’t answer my question”
Jonah stood up from the chair, he dropped the spoon on the plate and went upstairs. Grandma called him back but he ignored her and Went directly to Alfred’s room. She turned to Alfred who was eating peacefully and Chuckled. He didn’t Look at her because she would have turn the anger his little brother instilled in her on him and so, he avoided her and kept eating to his satisfaction. While growing up, Jonah was the one with Anger issues. When they were done eating, Alfred went to his room. His brother was lying on the bed Speaking on the Phone When he entered.
“ Hey bro, you are here” He sat upright and ended the call. “ Why did you leave? You said you were hungry” Alfred said and Jonah Laughed. “ I left just to avoid Her Drama. But truth be told, I’m so Hungry” He rubbed his Tommy. “ Then go out and eat” Alfred said “ What about Grandma? Is she still in the sitting room?” He asked and Alfred Chuckled. “ I can see you are much afraid of Grandma more than me. She has left to her room” He said and Jonah heaved a sigh of relief. “ Alright then, I’m going to get something in to my stomach” He left the room but had to peeped out of the door first before going out.
Jonah tip toed down the stairs so that Grandma wouldn’t hear the sound of his footsteps, He opened the door of the kitchen slowly but none of the girls were there. He looked around to see if he could find something to eat but didn’t see anything.
“ What Should I do now? I’m so Hungry” He opened the fridge but there are only cups of ice creams and bottle of juice there. “ No Snacks!” He Said surprisingly. “ Oh Come on” He kicked the Fridge with his leg and brought out a cup of Vanilla Ice cream. “ I’ll Manage it. Maybe I shouldn’t have walked out on them earlier” He sat down on the Table enjoying his ice cream when the door pulled opened. “ What are you doing here?” He turned to the door and saw his old nemesis, Alfred’s Assistant.
“ What do you mean by that?” Jonah asked and he Chuckled. “ You know it’s not proper for a full grown man to Wonder around the house when it’s night, especially the kitchen” Jonah rolled his eyes, he ate another Bite and shook his head. “ It’s Not your fault. If only I knew you would be here, I would have gone back to the room after taking the ice cream” The Assistant laughed, He tapped Jonah’s shoulder and nodded his head. “ I know, just like you always do years back right?” They both laughed. “ I missed you so much bro” Jonah said and he Chuckled.
“ You don’t miss us like you said, you would have returned back if truly you missed us. Anyways, Tell me about your life in the other country. Did you find a girlfriend? Oh silly me, I know you have them there” The Assistant said and Jonah Giggled.
