“Should I confess to her? Maybe I should wait. But what if I delayed and someone confessed to her? No no, I must do something fast” Derek nodded his head. “ what are you still doing there?” Vanessa asked through the window. “ Nothing” He said and went inside the house.
Alfred returned home looking so devastated. He still couldn't believe what his grandma was doing to him, she should at least allow him to marry the girl he loves. Vanessa might be a local girl and not up to kiara’s standard like grandma had said but she was the kind of a girl every man would want as his wife.
“ I can’t just sit here and do nothing, I must bring back Vanessa in to this house” Alfred sat down on the bed and started unbuttoning his sleeve. “ But what’s wrong with Mara? She acted so different earlier. Mara would have come running to me , I wonder if Vanessa had brainwashed her”
He took off his clothe and entered the bathroom to take a shower with the same thoughts running through his mind. He didn’t liked what grandma did to him but what Mara did was disturbing him so much. He didn’t know Vanessa might even try to hid it from his that she had found Mara.
“ I cant believe this” he said as the water ran down his body. “ This isn’t the life I wanted, everything is turning upside down for me” he sighed. “ Did I made a mistake bringing Vanessa and Mara in to my house? But I can’t keep them a secret for long even if I intend to. Oh God help me”
He came out of the bathroom tying a towel around his waist. As he was trying to put on another set of clothe, his phone started ringing on the bed.
“ Who could that be?” he pondered as he walked closer to the bed. He chuckled when he saw the name that appeared on the screen. He wanted to ignore the call but something pushed him to answer it. “ What?” He asked before the person that called could say anything. “ Hey come on honey i…” he cut her off. “ Stop calling me that name and tell me why you called” he said sitting down on the bed.
“ Nothing, I just want to check up on you” Alfred chuckled “ I thought you said you would never disturb my life again” he reminded her. “ Oh I forgot about that” kiara said. “ okay then I’ve reminded you and you have to keep your promise. I have things to do so, do not call me ever again” Alfred disconnected the call without waiting to hear what she was about to say to him.
“ What does this girl want with me?” he sighed standing up from the bed. “ I don’t know but something is telling me Mandy was telling the truth. Could it be true Kiara had a hand in Mara’s disappearance? I just hope it shouldn’t turn out to be true because I won’t take it likely with her and anyone who helped her carry out the act” he suddenly remembered the security man who was been kept captive in the station.
“ Oh well, I don’t see the reason why he should remain there. Maybe he is innocent like he said” he picked up his phone again and dialed a number. “ Release him, we’ve found her” he gave the command and ended the call. He smiled while dropping the phone back on the bed, Alfred was happy to see his baby again. He thought he would never see them again but he was wrong.
Suddenly, he remembered the call from the CBI and the result of the investigation handed over to him. He opened the drawer attached to the mirror and brought out the file, Alfred stared at it in anger.
“ If I show this to Vanessa, she would never want to be with me again And she might end up leaving this town” he quickly put the file back inside the drawer when a knock came on his door. “ Who’s that?” he asked looking at the door. “ It’s Bella, your food is ready Boss” said Bella. “ Okay” he said and she left.
Alfred sighed , he picked up his phone and left the room. Immediately he went to the sitting room, his phone started ringing again and he hissed. He thought it was Kiara until he looked at the screen. His face brightened up when he saw the caller.
“ You decided to call?’ he asked the person on the other end with a broad smile plastered on his face. “ Hey Bro, I’m sorry” he apologized. “ How have you been?’ Alfred asked sitting down on the sofa “ I can say good but I really missed home. How’s grandma?” he asked and Alfred chuckled. “ What’s there to miss about home? You should come home and see what’s happening, grandma is really messing with my life” Alfred sighed. “ Really? I thought she had changed”
“ And who told you she would change? Grandma is getting old and her attitude is increasing” Alfred said “ What about Mandy, why don’t you call her to talk to grandma? You know she’s the only one that can make grandma do whatever she want and grandma will do it.” Alfred shook his head. “ You can’t believe this even if I tell you, it’s better you come home and see things for yourself. Mandy is giving me troubles. Could you believe she moved in to my house?” Alfred said and sighed “ She did? Wow I never knew the crush she have on you is up to that limit. Anyways, why can you just give her a chance? She might even be your key to enter grandma’s heart” he said and Alfred chuckled.
“ I rather be on her bad side than to do that. Mandy even tried to sabotage my relationship…..” he interrupted him.
