“ I don’t care what people would think , Mara is my Daughter and her mum will soon be my wife” He smiled. “ What da!” She lowered her voice and stood up.
The Assistant Entered the kitchen, He was shocked that his Boss was with Mara and Vanessa.
“ Hi, Bully” Mara said and Vanessa giggled. “ You.. I’m not a bully” He said and looked at Alfred. “ I was looking for you, Boss” Alfred ignored him and carried Mara up. “ Where are you going with her?” Vanessa asked and Alfred looked at her. “ To tell everyone she’s my daughter” He said walking out of the kitchen. “ Boss” His Assistant called but he ignored him. Vanessa froze in a spot, she couldn’t move or do anything.
As Alfred was about to exit the door, his phone rang and he put Mara down. Immediately he put her down, Vanessa ran and grabbed Mara.
“ What do you think you are doing?” She carried Mara and the Assistant heaved a sigh of relief. As Afraid was talking on the phone, his eyes were on Vanessa and Mara. He gestured to her to bring Mara to him but she refused, Alfred disconnected the call and put the phone in his pocket. “ Bring her here” he said but Vanessa wouldn’t. “ Do you even know what you are trying to do?” She asked him and he smiled. “ Of course, she’s my child” He answered her.
“ Hi Mr. Alfred” They heard a Lady’s voice from the door and they all turned. It was Nala, she has been waiting for Alfred to come out of the kitchen and decided to follow him in when he didn’t come out. “ Do you Need anything?” She asked him and He sighed. “ No” He said and left the kitchen. He was mad that Nala had interrupted him when he was trying to take Mara from Vanessa, his Assistant was so happy about everything as he followed him out.
“ Are you?” Nala asked and Vanessa Smiled. “ My name’s Vanessa, I’m part of the chefs” She said smiling. Vanessa wanted to bow her head but she didn’t because according to her, she was older than Nala. Nala smiled, she looked at Mara who was holding her Teddy and moved closer to them. “ She’s pretty” She said and Mara looked at her. “ Thank you” Mara said. “ You’re welcome, do you want to go out with me?” Nala asked Mara but before she could say a word, Vanessa interrupted.
“ I’m sorry, we have to go now” She apologized. “ Oh okay, Meet Lillian for your payment” Nala said and Lillian Entered the kitchen. “ Do you need anything, ma’am?” Lillian asked Nala. “ No, She want to go. Make sure you give her her payment now. And to her beautiful baby, give her something too” She said smiling. Vanessa thanked her Happily, she knew the amount won’t be little. Nala left and Lillian paid Vanessa in cash.
Without hesitating, Vanessa grabbed her hand bag, put the bundle of money inside and left the kitchen. She scanned the hall to make sure Alfred wasn’t in sight and she Sneaked out of the hall afraid they he might cause a scene if he see her. She went out of the hall and heaved a sigh of relief, it was already getting dark and the sky was dark.
“ I think it would rain anytime soon” She looked at Mara and Smiled. “ Let’s go home” Mara nodded her head. As she was heading to the gate, she saw the Assistant and tried to avoid him but he greeted her. “ Are you going already?” He asked and Vanessa nodded her head. “ Where’s Daddy?” Mara asked him. “ He’s Having a meeting with the Wendy’s” He answered her not because he wanted to but because Vanessa was present. “ Good bye” Vanessa left and he smiled happily “ And Good bye to you too” He waved to them.
Vanessa walked down the street, everywhere was so silent and the only light you could see were from the solar on the street. She held on to Mara and her bag tightly trying to be brave. Her kind Traveled to the money she had in her bag, it would be enough for her to leave the city again and never return.
“ Dream come true” She said smiling. Just as she passed another street light, rain started falling. “ Oh No, not Now” Vanessa wanted to hide somewhere afraid that Mara would get drenched and just them, two Guys appeared in front of her.

Alfred shook hands with Mrs. Wendy, he had signed a contract with the Wendy’s Company for the second time in four years again. He scanned the surrounding for Vanessa but she wasn’t among the guests coming out of the hall. He saw his Assistant standing beside The car, speaking on the phone and he went to him quickly.
“ Have you seen them?” He asked looking around. The Assistant quickly end the call and stood straight. “ Who?” He asked. “ Vanessa and Mara” He said and the Assistant Nodded his head. “ Yes, they already left” He said. “ When?” Alfred asked him. “ Just minutes ago” As they were still talking, The Rain started pouring and Alfred Hurried inside the car. “ Start the engine now, they might be in danger. This location isn’t safe” He said worriedly.
The Assistant started the car and drove out of the house. Alfred couldn’t stop looking out of the Windows thinking he would see Vanessa and Mara on the street. As they drove, they saw people a distance ahead of them. Two guys were holding guns while the lady was kneeling on the ground.
“ It’s an attack!” The Assistant said stopping the car. “ It’s Vanessa and Mara, Move the car!” Alfred Commanded, his blood was boiling and he was sweating. “ But sir, we might fall in to trouble too and…..” Alfred interrupted him.
