Vanessa left the house Angrily, she walked around the house trying to find an exit door and after some minutes, The Assistant came out.
“ open that gate” She Commanded and he hurriedly unlocked the gate. “ Farewell, Mara” He waved to Mara who was crying. “ The earlier you stop crying , the better. Because you will never see him again” Vanessa said to Mara.
She walked down the street, turning back Every seconds to make sure Alfred wasn’t Following them. It was a very silent location and that scared her.
After walking for about an hour, Vanessa Came to the main Street and she heaved a sigh of relief. She stopped a cab and they entered.
“ What a location” She said glaring out of the window. “ What does he mean by that?” She puffed. “ I know I need money but I can’t do what he want me to do. Who does he think he is? What an insult” She looked at Mara who has fallen asleep and sighed.
“ I’m Sorry Baby but I can’t agree to him” She said. Vanessa rested her head on the head of the chair, she took in a deep breath and closed her eyes.
She was so exhausted and felt like she was going to lose consciousness anytime Sooner. She had just been discharged from the hospital and was going through all that After the Doctor had told her to rest.
They arrived at the Estate, Derek was waiting outside. He ran to them when Vanessa cake down from the car.
“ Are you alright? Where’s Mara?” Derek asked approaching her. “ She’s here” She pointed to the car. Derek helped Carried Mara inside the house and lay her down on the couch. Vanessa locked the Door afraid that Alfred or the Assistant might come after them.
“ How did you get her?” Derek asked as he was so curious. “ Can you imagine He want me to marry him because of Mara?” Vanessa Scoffed sitting down on the sofa. “ I’m so Thirsty” She said lying down on the Couch.
Derek Hurried to the kitchen, he returned with a glass cup of water and handed it over to Vanessa who in turn took it and drank everything.
“ He want you to marry him, then what was your response?” He asked curiously. “ He might be rich but I’m not after his money” She said and Derek sighed. “ I thought you said yes to him. Anyways, did Mara cried? Her eyes are swollen” He asked looking at Mara.
“ Yes she cried, she doesn’t want to leave him” Vanessa said. “ But why did he want you because of Mara?” Derek asked. “ He ran a DNA test on her and the result came out that he’s the father” Vanessa said Surprisingly.
“ Wow!” Derek Exclaimed. “ How did the billionaire turned out to be Mara’s Dad? Do you believe it?” He asked her. “ I don’t believe it, I even tire the paper on his face. How dare him even touched my Daughter?” Vanessa fumed.
“ But what if it is the truth? I mean, you don’t know who got you pregnant” Derek said and Vanessa Chuckled. “ What do you mean by that? I know that I was drugged that night, but can’t you see that he want Mara? He claimed Mara looks like his Niece. All these are happening because of the lies I fed Mara with, it’s all my fault” Vanessa blamed herself.
“ Hey, do not blame yourself. Every mother would have do what you did when their kids keep asking them about their Dads” Derek said. “ I know Derek but I think I went too far. I don’t even think it’s safe for us to stay in this town again” Vanessa said worriedly.
“ Don’t worry Vanessa, nothing would happen to you. You’ve been living here for years now” Derek Assured her. “ But I have to go, I want to see my Real parents. I’m always dreaming about My siblings” Vanessa said Sadly.
“ I’ll Help you when the time comes but for now, I want you to stay home and keep your eyes on Mara. She’s a smart kid and I know she might try to break out of the house to go look for her Dad” Derek said and Vanessa Chuckled.
“ Dad? Did you just said Dad? He’s not her Dad” She stood upright with her hands on her waist. “ I’m going to cook something” She said but Derek stopped her. “ You Should rest, I’ll cook for us” With that said, Derek left for the kitchen leaving Vanessa with Mara.
Vanessa sat on the couch close to Mara, she touched Mara’s face and smiled.
“ I’m sorry baby, But there’s nothing I can do about this” She sighed. “ But what if he’s saying the truth? What if he’s Mara’s Real Dad? There’s only one person that would give me the answer” Vanessa stood up and Carried Mara inside the room. She picked up her phone from the bedside and entered the Contacts.
She Strolled down the numbers trying to find Tiana’s and then she remembered she’d lost their contacts after she was chased out of the house.
“ Crap!” She cursed under her breath. “ I won’t let this slide away, I just find Tiana and she must tell me who she set me up with” She dropped the phone on the bed and locked the door with a key, she removed the key and Entered the bathroom with it.
After an hour, Derek was done cooking. He tried to open Vanessa’s room but it was locked, he was so surprised because he left her in the sitting room an hour ago.
“ Vanessa, are you in there?” He knocked on the door, Vanessa unlocked the door and opened it. “ Why did you locked it?” He asked her. “ I entered the bathroom, I was afraid that Mara might wake up and find her way out of the house” She said and Derek laughed.
