Chapter 17: Chapter 17

As the Assistant drove inside the estate, he saw Vanessa and Derek entering in to the house. Vanessa didn’t looked well even from Afar , She was supported by Derek as they Entered the house.

“ Oh poor you, I know you missed your daughter. I just wish there’s something I can do to bring back that child here. She’s a bunch of trouble and I know she will make The Boss fire me if I’m not careful with her” He made a fist and bit his upper lip.

He saw them closed the door behind him and he shook his head.

“ But what took the Boss to the hospital with Mara? Something isn’t right, I’ll make sure I’m always with him incase the Doctor call or show up. I must find out whatever it is” He Started the car and drove out of the Estate.

As soon as the Assistant left, Derek ran out of the house with Vanessa. They looked around but didn’t see any car in sight again.

“ I saw it” Vanessa said pointing to where the car was parked before. “ Are you sure it was the car that you saw?” He asked her and she nodded her head. “ Yes it’s the exact same car. Oh my God Mara!” Vanessa put her palm on her forehead.

It happened that as they were going inside the house, Vanessa saw the Car again but before they could come out he has left.

“ But what brought him here again?” Derek wondered and Vanessa Sniffed. “ Who knows, maybe they want to kidnap me too” She said and Derek Shook his head.

“ No Vanessa, stop saying that” He held her hand. “ What? I’ll be glad if they can take me too, I want to see my Daughter and I want to see how well she’s fairing” Vanessa released her hand from his and went back inside the house.

Derek scanned the area again and sighed, he returned back inside the house and locked the door. Vanessa wasn’t in the sitting room when he entered, She might probably be in her room.

He knocked on her door but got no Response, and then he opened the door. He found Vanessa lying down on the floor lifelessly and fears grew in him.

“ Vanessa!” He called but got no response. “ Vanessa” He moved closer to her and knelt on the floor, he taped her trying to revise her but she was still. “ Vanessa please wake up” Derek pleaded.

“ Oh no no, this can’t be happening” He Hurriedly brought out his phone from the back pocket and dialed some numbers. Derek gave them the Address and ended the call.

“ Vanessa please hang on” He wiped the tears in his eyes and in few minutes time, an Ambulance arrived. Vanessa rushed to the Emergency unit.

The next day at exactly 10 am, Alfred was in his study room when the Doctor arrived. Mar was with him, she was playing games on his phone while he was signing some papers.

The Door opened and His Assistant came in.

“ The Doctor is here” He said and Alfred Raised up his head. He Had been waiting for the Doctor Since the day broke.

“ Show him in” He said and the Assistant left after giving Mara a weird look. He returned back with the Doctor but instead of him to leave , he stayed there.

“ You are here” Alfred shook hand with the Doctor and offered him a seat. “ Hi baby” He waved to Mara and Mara looked up. “ Hi” She said smiling. The Doctor brought out a paper from his Bag and placed it on the table.

“ The result is here” He said handing it to Alfred who was eagerly waiting for it. Before he could check the paper, He looked at His Assistant who was stretching his neck to see what was written on the paper.

“ You can wait outside” Alfred said showing him the door. The Assistant had no choice than go out of the study room. He wasn’t happy at all, he wanted to know what was going on and whose result that was.

Instead of him to go as instructed, he leaned on the door outside, eavesdropping on them.

“ It Turns out that Mara here is your Biological Daughter. But how comes? How did that happened?” The Doctor asked Confusingly. Alfred looked at Mara who was playing games and he smiled.

“ I have No idea or should I say I don’t remember?” He said and sighed. “ Wait, do you think I’m not his daughter?” Mara asked the Doctor and then looked at Alfred. “ Daddy, what’s going on here?” Mara asked and Alfred smiled. “ Nothing, we are discussing about something” He said and she continued playing the game.

“ Anyways, thanks for your help” He shook hand with the Doctor “ Don’t forget our promise” He said and the Doctor nodded his head. “ Your secret is safe with me, don’t forget I’m a Doctor” He said and Alfred smiled.

Just as Alfred was opening the door, The Assistant Quickly ran and hide behind a curtain where he could not be seen. He watched as Alfred and the Doctor parted ways and when the Doctor has left, he came out of his hiding place.

“ Talking about the result, does this mean the Boss had a test done on Mara to know if she’s his daughter? Oh My God!” He Exclaimed. He looked at the Door and sighed. “ This won’t end well.”

“ Daddy?” Mara called and he turned to her. “ When is Mummy coming over? You aid today” Mara said and Alfred nodded his head. “ Yes, she’ll he coming today. You missed Mummy right?” He asked. “ Yes I kissed her so much, I can’t wait to see her” Mara said excitedly.

“ Mummy will be so happy to see you too. But do you think She would like to live here with us?” He asked her. “ I don’t know but Mummy would live with Mara” Mara said.

“ Mummy have to live here with us, I can’t let little Mara go away from me” Alfred said to Mara and she giggled. “ Little Mara won’t go away from Daddy, Mummy Must live here with us” She added.
