Chapter 86: Chapter 86

I looked up to see Adrian Gordon just getting out of his car.

Since he was here, I didn’t bother to chase after her and said, "Your sister is in trouble, go find her quickly!"

Adrian Gordon strode toward me, frowning in confusion, and asked, "What do you mean? Amanda asked me to pick you up, saying you guys had been drinking and it wasn’t convenient to drive."

"We didn’t drink! I don’t need you to take care of me, hurry up and go after your sister, she’s driving dangerously now!"

Adrian Gordon saw I wasn’t joking, his face changed drastically, and he immediately took out his phone to make a call.

However, it didn’t get through.

His eyes became serious, his expression tense, and he turned around and got back in the car immediately.

Watching his car speed away, I also got in my car and left.

As for what happens to Amanda Gordon next, that’s not my concern. After all, I informed her family, and I’ve fulfilled my responsibility and duty.

However, what I didn’t expect was, in the middle of the night, while I was asleep, my phone suddenly rang.

In a daze, I answered the call, and Adrian Gordon’s angry voice came through: "Lily Miller, what exactly did you do to Amanda? Why did such a big thing happen to her after you two had dinner and you left just fine?"

I was jolted awake, instantly alert.

"What happened to her?"

"You don’t know what happened to her?!" Adrian Gordon roared.

Scared, I moved the phone away, but after his voice subsided, I shouted back unwillingly, "Adrian Gordon, don’t you dare accuse me! If you want to know why your sister got into trouble, you better ask her what she did!"

"I don’t know what I mean, but just don’t bother me with your family’s mess, and also, don’t miss tomorrow afternoon’s court session!"

I shouted back and hung up directly.

The next morning, I didn’t go to the studio. Instead, I went to the restaurant where Amanda Gordon invited me for dinner last night to ask the owner for a copy of the surveillance.

At first, the owner refused, saying individuals had no right to view the surveillance footage.

I said I lost something very valuable while dining there last night, and if they didn’t agree to let me see the surveillance, I’d have to call the police to handle it.

The owner, worried that involving the police would affect business, reluctantly agreed to let me see the footage.

When I saw Amanda Gordon doing something to my drink on the video, a chill ran down my spine.

If it weren’t for her carelessness, stirring only briefly with the straw, leaving powder residue — I wouldn’t have noticed anything unusual and would have drunk it unsuspectingly.

And then, she would have Adrian Gordon pick me up, forcing something to happen...

"What’s this? What’s that woman adding to the juice?" the restaurant owner asked in confusion after seeing the scene.

After communicating with the restaurant owner, I edited the video clip and uploaded it to my phone.

With this video, I should be able to have leverage over Adrian Gordon.

Leaving the restaurant, I took the initiative to call Adrian Gordon.

He picked up quickly, but his tone was sharp: "What is it? If it’s about the court session this afternoon, let’s talk later."

"No, it’s something else." I replied in a calm, cold tone, curiously asking, "How’s your sister? Out of humanitarian concern, I should visit her, considering we had dinner together last night."

"Ha!" Adrian Gordon snorted, "You suddenly grew a conscience? If it weren’t for me considering past feelings, I should have called the police to arrest you last night!"

"Arrest me? For what?" I was taken aback.

"Aren’t you the one who drugged Amanda?" Adrian Gordon asked fiercely.

I was stunned, smirking, "Did your sister say that?"

"Does she need to say it? You had dinner with her, you’re fine, yet she got into trouble, and you warned me last night she’d have an accident, indicating you knew about it! Who else could it be? Lily Miller, I didn’t expect you to be so insidious, tearing your own family apart and now seeking revenge on me!"

Adding insult to injury, huh.

After hearing this, I didn’t want to argue.

The more justified he sounds now, the louder the slap in the face will be later!

"I’ll make sure you see the truth of last night." I said calmly, then asked again, "Are you at the hospital or home?"

The Gordon family has a dedicated private hospital, and if Amanda lost her purity last night, they would certainly want to keep it quiet and find a familiar doctor.

I went to the florist, got a bouquet of fresh flowers, and drove straight to the hospital.

Coincidentally, just as I stepped out of the elevator and turned into the corridor, I saw Adrian Gordon.

He was on the phone, his expression serious, and as I approached, I heard he was on a call with a lawyer, mentioning the word rape.

As expected, just as I anticipated.

The daughter of the prestigious Gordon family, her purity lost — no wonder Adrian Gordon was furious, raging at me.

To be honest, I regretted it for a brief moment.

But thinking about Adrian Gordon’s slander, I felt I shouldn’t be so benevolent.

Even if I had poured out that juice last night, not switching it with Amanda Gordon, and her plan failed, she might still plot another trap.

Anyway, I never intended to harm anyone. It was she who came to provoke me, and I was just protecting myself.

Adrian Gordon finished his call, turned around, and saw me. His teeth clenched, expression dark and angry.

I took the initiative to speak, "How’s your sister?"

Adrian Gordon didn’t answer, maintaining an arrogant stance, saying, "Since you’re here, apologize to her in person. As for whether to hold you accountable, it depends on Amanda."

I raised an eyebrow with interest, "You plan to convict me?"

He retorted, "What you did was illegal and criminal, don’t you know?"

I looked at him, suddenly finding it funny: "Adrian Gordon, after all these years together, you really don’t know a thing about my principles."

I’ve never intentionally harmed anyone, and because of my kind heart and tendency to help like a saint, I’ve been taken for a fool many times in the past.

Adrian Gordon said coldly, "That was before." ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novelFɪre.net

The implication being, I’ve changed now.

He turned and entered the ward, and I followed behind.

Unexpectedly, as soon as I stepped in, Amanda Gordon, lying on the hospital bed, saw me and screamed hysterically, "What are you here for? Get out! Get out!"

Olivia Gray saw me, also looking very displeased.

I smiled, walked over, and placed the bouquet down, "Why is the Eldest Miss Gordon so agitated? I came to see you out of kindness. Look at these flowers, so beautiful, just about to bloom, vibrant and full."

As I said this, I suddenly realized Adrian Gordon hadn’t wronged me — I really have changed.

I wasn’t this wicked before.

Sure enough, when Amanda Gordon heard my compliment about the flowers, she immediately related it to being defiled and damaged, furious, raising her hand to knock the bouquet down.

"Get out! Lily Miller, I hate you!"

Adrian Gordon stepped forward to persuade, "Amanda, calm down, she’s here to apologize."

Amanda Gordon was stunned, looked at me, her eyes skeptical.

I took out my phone, speaking unhurriedly, "Before I apologize, let me show you all a piece of surveillance footage. After watching it, you can decide who needs to apologize."

Before I could finish, Amanda Gordon’s face changed, panicking, "Don’t look, don’t you look!"
