Playing ~ Tones and I - Dance Monkey

“Just play it cool, okay? What we just found out might not be true, it could turn out to be a hoax. We are not sure if what it is is really is.” Aiden spoke and put the files back in the envelope. “We have to keep this, Caleb must not see this now and no one should see it too, come on let's go”

Both he and Dimitri stood to their feet and walked out of the balcony.

“Someone might be playing a trick on us, rather they might be trying to mess with your head, just don’t try to overthink this and get drunk” Aiden continued talking as they made their way to the stairs.

What he found out was shocking. He didn’t believe it was true, it looked crazy. Who would believe? Someone was playing dirty and they have to watch their tracks so they don’t slip and fall. He didn’t want them jumping to conclusions based on what they saw, they had to conduct their personal investigation just to make sure, and knowing Dimitri, he would make a fuss about it, hence his talking.

This was important but it's their friends/cousin engagement party. He could not let such ruin his special day. Letting him in on the matter at the moment would only cause more worry and that’s the last thing he wanted right now.

“...are you even listening to me Miguel?” Aiden inquired when he didn’t get any response from Dimitri as they walked to the stairs “Dimitri?” He halted in his steps but Dimitri didn't seem to be with him, it was like his mind had traveled to another realm.

He was smart, he wouldn't let Aiden talk to him like he was a child, he could figure out something, right? He was a great businessman and definitely, he could handle this. He could right? He is trying his best not to freak out and make a scene, exactly what Aiden would have in mind but he wouldn’t let them keep thinking he couldn't handle the situation correctly as a grown-ass man.

He was lost in his thoughts, he didn’t realize Aiden had stopped and kept calling his name.

“Idiot” Aiden spoke in a firm voice.

Just as he reached the top of the stairs, it was like he was released from a deep thinking spell. Dimitri turned around sharply at his tone, almost missing a step but he was quick to hold the railings and steady himself as his heart beats rapidly.

He looked down at the stairs and memories came flooding his head and he closed his eyes trying to block out the voices talking.

“Please” he could hear the plea, he gritted his teeth and shook his head to get the image off his head.

He kept his eyes closed trying to let the memories fade, he pleads that it goes and like it got ears it slowly left his head for the meantime though, then a headache starts to grow at the back of his head and he placed his hand on his head squeezing his eyes shut and opened his eyes slowly and took his gaze from the stairs to a worried-looking Aiden who had stepped a foot closer.

“What?” he asked harshly, trying to fight off the headache.

Where is it coming from? He didn’t have too much to drink today. A bottle...two? Two bottles couldn’t give him much headache.

“Are you okay?” Aiden breathed out.

Nodding Dimitri turned back to the stars and muttered ‘hmm’ he began taking slow steps down the stairs when Aiden spoke up again.

“Miguel, I know this might be shocking or overwhelming for you to contain, please I am begging you, DO.NOT.THINK.TOO.MUCH, please, I know how fuzzy you get when you think so much about things. Let's be calm and think this through,” he came closer to Dimitri and placed a hand on his shoulder.

“I trust you to make fine decisions but you have got to understand you can’t go take harsh decisions that would affect everyone badly. If it gets to me locking you in Caleb's car and putting the child’s lock on, then I don't mind. Focus, smile, and be cheerful, this night is for our dear Caleb, let's make it memorable for him, shall we?” Aiden asked with a smile plastered on his face.

Dimitri had a smile on his face too and he gave his best friend a hug.

“If you were a girl, I would marry you,” he said when they let go.

Aiden scrunched his face at that and waved his hands in the air “Please dude don’t spoil my parole, never say this in front of a girl, please and you are getting married to an amazing girl” he patted his back and start descending the stairs “Let's go”

So she was going to be here? Will, she put her hair in a bun? Or let it be messy...wait he hadn’t seen her with messy hair and imagined it...a smile lets itself on his lips and wondered what was in her that got him so interested…

‘Wait… why am I thinking about her?’ he asked himself. It could be because of her golden locks or her well-sculptured face and nice body…no or could it be the fact that she could speak back at him, unlike the previous girls he had hooked up with. She was diff-

“Are you going to stand there all night?” Aiden’s voice cuts his train of thoughts.

He looked down the stairs at him and descend the step with a small smile playing on his lips “Let's go”

“You look beautiful” Audriana compliments, Emily.

She was wearing a gold-laced off-the-shoulder ankle-length flared dress and paired it with one of Audriana's favorite shoes. Her Jimmy Choo collections. Sofia did a great job with her hair and makeup. She left her natural curls and packed it at the back with a parting at the middle, her make-up was light and she paired her looks with a gold purse.

Emily smiled at that and rubbed her slight bump that was covered by the flared gown.

“Thank you, you girls look great” she replied and went out of the house towards Sofia’s car. Audriana locked up and rushed up to them taking the front seat beside Sofia and Emily in the backseat.

“Congratulations once again, Emily” Sofia looked at her through the rearview mirror.

“Thank you, let's go”

“So there are lots of celebrations for the Lorenzos and we cannot be happier to welcome more...I will be calling on the couple to share their first dance in a while. We appreciate you all taking your time to come to another celebration and the Lorenzos are once again grateful” he said and everyone clapped.

“Now for the first couple dance, I will be calling Caleb Elijah Lorenzo and Emily Livia Copello” and everyone clapped as they came to the middle of the hall that was designated for dance. They waved and smiled at everyone on their way. “Let the song play” the MC handed the mic to the hired sound engineer and left the stage.

Caleb and Emily part, giving a foot space between themselves. They looked at each other and smiled. Everyone was confused about what they were doing, it was supposed to be a couple's first dance and they separated.

The song started playing and Aiden and Dimitri had a ‘what the hell’ look on their faces.

Caleb and Emily started dancing, shaking their bodies, and doing a bit of salsa. It was a good thing she changed her dress to a free short gown.

“I thought he was joking,” Aiden said just at the same time Dimitri said “Oh shit, seriously?”

Audriana and Sofia looked at each other before bursting into laughter.

“You know when he told us I thought he wasn’t going to pull through”

“Is this their song?” Audriana asked, looking at her friend.

“Yes, they love it so much and Caleb told me it was going to be his first couple dance with Emily”

“I didn’t know Caleb could dance” Audriana compliments

“Well now you know, they should just be careful she’s pregnant” Sofia mutters the last part while watching them.

“He won't hurt her, '' Audriana said and watched with wide eyes as they danced towards them and shook their butts in front of her.

They got lots of ‘Wo!’ and ‘come on’ so they danced to where Aiden and Dimitri were and Dimitri just rolled his eyes slightly pushing Caleb away.

The party was great and everyone joined in the dance and had a great time dancing and exchanging dance partners
