Chapter 238: Chapter 238

Sienna Johnson found Vivian’s incessant chatter annoying, so she sent her out, leaving only the two of them in the private room.

"Alright, who did it?" Sienna steered the conversation to the main topic.

Adrian Desmond surveyed the private room. It was elegantly decorated with green bamboo and a small, babbling brook where a few small fish swam.

"It was Sabrina Johnson!"

Sienna’s hand, resting on the edge of the table, paused. She looked up, her gaze sharp as she fixed on Adrian. "Are you sure?"

Sienna pondered for a moment before asking, "Then how did she get the formula from the Eastminster Pharmaceutical Factory’s research lab?"

"That, I’m not sure about." Adrian couldn’t tell Sienna about Kenneth Brown’s involvement at this point, so he partially concealed the truth.

It seems there’s a mole in Eastminster Pharmaceutical Factory.

Sabrina Johnson was just a pretty face; she knew little about medicine. Even if several formulas were placed in front of her, she likely wouldn’t be able to identify the correct one for fibromyalgia.

So, who within Eastminster Pharmaceutical Factory is the mole?

Sienna genuinely had no clue. Over the years, because Kenneth Brown was highly capable and she trusted him, Sienna had delegated all management of Eastminster Pharmaceutical Factory to him. Kenneth Brown only needed to report the business situation to the group headquarters each quarter.

"Kenneth has been in charge of Eastminster Pharmaceutical Factory for these past few years, and I don’t participate in its direct management. If the R&D team really did leak the fibromyalgia drug, Kenneth will have to investigate."

When Adrian heard Sienna say she would have Kenneth Brown investigate the mole, he couldn’t help but chuckle. Kenneth Brown *is* the mole. It would be a miracle if he could find the *real* mole. Still, that’s not my problem.

The food arrived: Spicy Boiled Fish, duck blood spicy soup, Spicy Crab, and water-boiled beef. Sienna, indulging for once, had ordered a lot of dishes.

"Eat up. Don’t leave anything; I don’t like wasting food."

When Adrian saw the fiery red platters of food, his expression soured. He picked a dish that looked less spicy, but after just one bite, his face flushed crimson, like a stir-fried shrimp.

"COUGH, COUGH..." The coughing made it worse, the spiciness catching directly in his throat. Adrian felt this wasn’t a meal; it was sheer torture.

"What’s wrong?" Sienna paused, swallowing the piece of fish she was eating, and looked strangely at Adrian, whose face was as red as an apple.

"So spicy, COUGH, COUGH..."

Sienna picked up a piece of the dish Adrian had just eaten and put it in her mouth. "It’s not spicy at all..."

Adrian felt like he was going crazy. He knew this woman had a passion for spicy food. The cuisine in Abyanabad was typically mild. Even the spicy dishes made specially for Sienna there weren’t *this* intensely hot; he’d eaten them with her a few times. He never imagined the spice level of today’s dishes would be enough to be used for interrogation. Fresh chapters posted on novel•fire.net

"I’m sorry, I don’t usually eat spicy food."

Adrian gulped down several mouthfuls of ice water, which finally suppressed the burning sensation. However, he didn’t dare touch his chopsticks again.

Sienna looked at him disdainfully and said, "A man who can’t even handle spicy food, can he still be called a man?"

"You, of all people, should know best whether I’m a man or not!" How dare she question him on such a matter? It seemed the lesson he taught her in the car the other day wasn’t harsh enough.

Sienna ignored him and focused on her food. Adrian watched her eat, feeling a twinge of fear for her; he was worried her stomach wouldn’t be able to take it. "I know you’re very upset today, but your stomach isn’t good. Eat a little less."

"How do you know my stomach isn’t good?"

"I know many things about you..."

Sienna looked at Adrian, and Adrian looked back at her. His gaze, which seemed to see right through her, made Sienna uncomfortable, and she suddenly lost her appetite.

"I’m full." Sienna wiped her mouth, took a sip of lemon water, and stood up.

Adrian, who was supposedly starving but had only eaten a single bite and hadn’t touched his chopsticks since, also stood up and followed Sienna out.

Downstairs was bustling with activity. Sienna greeted Vivian briefly and then left.

"I’ll take you home." Now that they were neighbors, it was convenient; Adrian didn’t even need an excuse to take her home.

"You can go back first. I still need to return to the company."

"Return to the company for what?"

"After something has happened, do you think I’m in the mood to go home and sleep soundly?"

The Spicy Cuisine Restaurant wasn’t far from the company, so Sienna decided to walk, figuring it would help with digestion after the meal. Adrian also followed her. When they reached the company entrance, Adrian was stopped.

"Mr. Desmond, thank you for the valuable information. You can go home and rest now."

"You woman..." She really knew how to discard someone after they’d served their purpose.

"Hey, I gave you such valuable information. Aren’t you going to thank me?"

Sienna stopped and stared at him. "What do you want?"

Adrian leaned in, pointed to his own cheek, and said, "Kiss me, and we’ll call it the information fee."

Adrian obediently closed his eyes, awaiting the kiss.

It was rare for this woman to take the initiative.

The receptionist was just coming out with her kindergarten-aged daughter. Sienna waved at them, beckoning them over. Just as the receptionist was about to have her daughter greet Sienna, Sienna made a hushing gesture.

"Hey, hurry up. You’re not getting shy, are you?" Adrian urged.

Sienna stroked the child’s head, smiled at her, then picked up the little girl. The child then kissed Adrian on the cheek. Adrian immediately sensed something was different. He opened his eyes and saw a little girl about the same size as Curly.

"Sienna Johnson, how can you be such a cheat?"

"Mr. Desmond, the kiss has been given. You can go now."

"That doesn’t count!"

"You only asked for a kiss, and I’ve satisfied your request. What else are you unhappy about?" Sienna looked at the little girl in her arms, her smile radiant. "Besides, it was from such a little beauty. Little beauty, what’s your name?"

"President Johnson, hello," Tori’s mother greeted.

"Hello. Why are you getting off work so late? Since you have a child, you can leave a bit earlier in the future."

Sienna was a mother herself; she knew the hardships of a mother trying to balance work and childcare. Therefore, the company had many beneficial policies for employees with children, such as allowing them to leave work early to pick up their kids. This was one such benefit.

Though it might seem like a small perk, this policy resulted in very few employees leaving Eastminster Group, leading to overall stability. Long-term employees were more skilled at their jobs and more efficient, which was extremely advantageous for the development of Eastminster Group.

"You still owe me a kiss!" Adrian insisted.

"Goodbye, Mr. Desmond!"

"Goodbye, President Johnson."

The receptionist patted her daughter’s head and said, "Tori, say goodbye to President Johnson."

"Goodbye, President Johnson! You’re my idol!"
