Chapter 37: Chapter 37
"Sometimes it's only in the ecstasy of unrepressed movement that we may enter the stillness of our authentic selves. In such sacred moments, the world seems to be in step. This is why the idea of finding love across the dance floor endure - symbolizing that, when we know the true rhythm of our heart, we know the other."
Abhimanyu's Perspective
I woke up feeling kisses on my jaw line. I smiled and moved my face to other side letting her kiss my neck. She trailed her fingers along my contours and then her lips replaced her finger. I felt her hands on my chest and then she nuzzled her nose in my throat and my smile dropped, I felt my body being responsive. Unaware of my situation, she continued her teasing.
"Shree stop!" I protested hoarsely, groaning inwardly and tried to turn, prying her hands off but she just giggled, coming over me.
"What? I am not doing anything." She hushed innocently, running her hands on my chest. I opened my eyes to notice her mischievous smile, "Good morning husband!" She pecked my lips smiling.
"Good morning love." I murmured, removing her hair strands and stared at her intensely. She peeked through her lashes and blushed, looking down, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Uh...was wondering why I am being subjected to this royal romance." I pecked her chin and brushed her nose with mine.
"You remember what it is today?" She bit her lip, blinking her eyes and I gripped her waist, pretending to ponder, "No. It's Saturday. Something special?"
Her smile dropped in a moment and the stars that were twinkling in her eyes faded. I smirked inwardly, she would never get to hear what she wants until it was time.
"You don't remember?" She pouted creating a little gap between us and I declined my eyebrows, "I don't remember what?"
"That today is..." I interjected her before she could complete, "Let it be. I am very sleepy now. You go and get ready else you'll be late."
Her reaction was a fully opened mouth and her big beautiful eyes gaping at me.
"What?"
"Aren't you going office today? Why are you so sleepy?" She queried and escorting my weight on one elbow, I pulled her closer, "I'm not feeling well. I want to rest at home but you've to attend office. So go and get ready."
"What happened? Do you have headache? I'll give you massage and a cup of coffee. You'll feel better." She smiled, pulling my head closer and danced her fingers on my forehead.
As much as I didn't want to leave her today, I needed that to do. I caught her hands and kissed them, "You don't need to do anything. I'll respite and that is enough to rejuvenate me. You go."
"Why are you bent on pushing me away? I'm not going anywhere." She frowned and I kissed her ear, nibbling softly, "I'm not pushing you away but you need to go office. I don't want you to be late."
"I've taken off today." She said softly, cocooning in my embrace and I grimaced. Now how would I do the arrangement? She wrapped my arm around her waist and hid her face in my chest. Sighing, I tightened my hold and reckoned on some way to get her out of the house.
"Why have you taken off?" I sprung on and she peered, "You seriously don't know or are you just kidding?"
"Why would I kid in early morning? I'm seriously clueless. Why have you taken off?" I lied, repeating my question. She frowned and wriggled out of my grip, "You don't know?"
"Wait a sec. Is it your birthday? No, your birthday falls in the month of March, its August. Then?" I blabbered and the thin line on her lips grew along with the horizontal lines on the forehead.
"Nothing." She retorted and shuffled out of the bed sheets, taking her clothes out from the closet and stomping her feet marches inside the bathroom.
I smiled crossing my arms, "Happy anniversary, Mrs. Chauhan." Smiling like an idiot, I groped for my cell phone and call my assistant in this project.
"Hey half wife! Good morning." I smiled biding Siya and she giggled, "Good morning smart jij. So how's your plan running up till now?"
"Well your sister has just left to bathroom stomping her feet." I chuckled, looking at the direction, "She was quite mad at me for now and we've to run the things quicker because she has taken an off."
"So, that means she's staying home? Now, how'll you pack everything jij, without her knowledge?" She quipped.
"That's why I need your help. Come home in half an hour or so, and take her to the shopping with you. Make sure to engage her with you for about five - six hours and then drop her here." I instructed, making sure Shree didn't hear me.
"Okay. I'll be there in an hour." Siya chirped. "By the way jij, I'm doing such hard work for you. What will I get in return?"
I smirked, she's just like Paridhi and Vandisha, "Tell me what you want?"
"Not much. I'll hand you the list of things what I want and don't forget to purchase lava perfume." She said excitedly and I guffawed, "Sure, keep your list updated."
"Really? Thank you so much jij. You're the best." She squealed happily.
"Yeah. Now hurry up, Shree is done I guess. Bye!" I cut the call and pretended to sleep. Seconds later, the door opened and Shree came out wearing sari. I smiled surreptitiously, she wore sari when it's special or when she wanted to catch my attention.
"You are really not going?" She asked shaking me and I yawned, turning away, "No. I'm not and don't disturb me."
"Fine!" She groaned and sprinted downstairs. Making sure that she was busy, I took out packing bags and started placing my clothes first. It's easy to do a man's packing than a woman's. So I left her clothes for afterwards. Everyone knew about it and they were helping me in a way keeping her engaged with them.
"I can't wait to see that full smile on your face when we will reach there." I soliloquized, envisioning her beautiful smile. Her slightly angry incarnation was actually funny. I was expecting her to jump and squeal in mirth and I hoped she wouldn't be doubtful throughout the day. I hoped the plan worked. Taking my clothes, I scrolled to the bathroom.
Shree's Perspective
"What are you doing here?" I asked surprisingly, seeing Siya at the doorstep. She hadn't called me or informed me about her impromptu visit.
"I missed you too Di." She scoffed, hugging me and I pulled her inside with me, "Come! Why didn't you inform me about your visit?"
"So, now I can't come as and when I want. I need to give you prior notice. I am sorry." I frowned at the way she pouted and complained.
"Are you mad?" I slapped her arm and glared her. "How can you even think like that? I asked that because if I was in office, then you've had to go back. Dare if you say rubbish."
What's wrong with everyone today? My husband; he hasn't remembered our sixth month anniversary and my sister; she's talking nonsense.
I'd planned to surprise him with a date but now I was reduced to plan to hammer his head and remind him but...I will wait till tonight and if he doesn't remember, I am going to kill him.
"Di!!" Siya shook me vigorously, and I glanced at her.
"What happened?"
"Where are you lost? Is something wrong?" She squinted her eyebrows and I shrugged, holding her hands, "Nothing like that. Um...how's mom and dad?"
"Everyone's good. You've not been in there since a month; mom is missing you and behaving as if I don't exist for her." She rolled her eyes and I laughed, "Don't be a cry baby. You know that dad loves you more than me but I don't complaint."
"Yeah but I know that you're jealous deep down." She smirked and I posed a look, "As if."
"Hey di, let's go for shopping!" She sprung up out of nowhere and I waved at her, "Nah! I'm planning a surprise for Abhi and actually it's nice that you came, I kind of need your help."
"What?" She asked nonchalantly and I glanced around, making sure Abhimanyu was not somewhere near and whispered to her.
"Actually it's our sixth month anniversary and I want to surprise but that jerk of your jij, he doesn't remember it." I muttered twitching my lips and she giggled.
"So what do you want me to do?" She wiggled her eyebrows and mimed her to come closer, "I want you to help me in reminding him."
Color faded off her face and she alerted, shuffling back "What...what do I need to do?"
It took a minute for me to observe the change in her. "You okay?"
"Yeah...yeah. I'm fine. I'm fine Di. Tell me what I have to do?" She started stammering suddenly. What's wrong with her? She took the water and started gulping down in haste.
"Alright! When he comes down and you notice him, just pretend that you're talking to me and wish me happy sixth anniversary Di. Okay?" I suggested excitedly and she choked on the water, coughing badly.
"Oh my god! Easy Siyu. Easy!" I calmed her rubbing her back constantly. She coughed for a few minutes and taking deep breaths calmed down.
"When will you grow up duffer?" I snubbed and hugged her tightly, rubbing her back. Her eyes became teary all of a sudden. She couldn't even take care of herself.
"Wait! I'll bring something to eat. We'll talk later." I said strictly and waded out.
Abhimanyu's Perspective
"You've taken...Arey what are you doing Siya?" I asked startled as she started pushing me towards stairs when I came down, "What happened?"
"Don't ask anything jij. Just go back, if Di sees us together. She will make your plan flop." She hesitated, looking towards the kitchen, "She wants to remind you resorting me. She wants me to purposely congratulate her before you."
I chuckled at her baby antics, "Your sister is a kiddo. Relax! I'll handle it. Don't worry."
"But jij..."
"Relax! Go and ask her for shopping." I tilted my head and she nodded, scooting to Shree.
I won't give her any chance.
Shree's Perspective
I shoved the fork angrily in my noodles plate that some of it, fell on the table and tugged in the lion portion of it, glaring at my phone.
"Di..." Siya placed her hand over mine, "Relax, jij must have been busy and that's why he forgot. It's not a big deal, is it? And moreover you've decided to surprise him tonight, right? Then why are you being restless." She was saying right but I was not feeling good.
"I know that siyu but..." I mumbled, pouting and looking at my plate, "Couldn't he just remember it?"
She guffawed and I glared her, she pressed her palm on her mouth, "I wasn't intending to laugh Di but...you remember, just months ago, you used to feel it nonsense. Remember once you said that it's not mandatory to remember anniversaries! What are they just dates!!" She quoted my words and I fumed.
"Just shut up, okay!" I hissed and she ate her burger, shrugging, "No offence but you've turned into different person altogether and it's good to see."
"Stop talking about it. We need to be home early else how will I manage everything and what is the need to shop so many dresses? Are you going to donate your clothes somewhere?" I was begun to frustrate now, it's been already four hours and all she was doing is, roaming around leisurely, purchasing dresses, the type she wouldn't ever be interested in and now we were in her favorite restaurant, having noodles and burger.
"It's been days we had girl's time together, so I want to spend so much time with you and I'm recoding my closet. So the dresses." She replied coolly.
"Sometimes, your expenditure gives me Heebie jeebies for your prospective husband. Are you sure you are not planning to make him bankrupt?" I chided and she contorted her face, "Don't worry about it. I'll spend my money. Anyways, you like the dresses?"
"Of course but why are you asking my assent? It's your choice."
"I thought to see your taste." She smirked and glanced her cell phone, "Um...let's go home. It's time."
"Arey...just a minute ago when I ask you to let's go, you snapped and now you're saying it." I was grumbled. What the hell is wrong with everyone today?
"Tch...Come." She gripped my hand and pulled me to the parking lot.
Abhimanyu's Perspective
I was gazing at the ceiling, recalling how many time Shree prodded Siya to congratulate her but I didn't give them any chance to speak. She wasn't going to give up and kept pushing my darling sister in law.
Poor Siya! She was grinding between us.
I chuckled recalling how she immediately rejected Siya when she asked for shopping.
"No, he's not feeling well. That's why I can't accompany you siyu! I'm sorry but you've to go alone." She excused, clinging on my arm.
"No..." I removed my arm from her grip and stroked her waist, "You should go. It's been days you've gone for shopping. Go and enjoy yourself."
She glared me and faked a smile at everyone, "How can I go when you're sick? I will stay by your side." I got her drift; don't dare to tell me off.
"Baby, I'll be good and honestly, in peace if you go because I know you will keep buzzing in my ears and I won't be able to sleep." I pouted and everyone laughed.
Her eyes widened and her eyebrows creased. I covered my palm on my mouth to stop my smile.
"Fine! I'm going. You just sleep and keep sleeping. Huh!" She glowered me and got ready to go. Her eyes were telling that she didn't want to and the way she hugged me, it was her ruse to get me stop her but I just pushed her with Siya.
Meanwhile, I packed her stuff and checked our flight schedule. I had to make sure that everything goes as I planned. This will be the best time of our life and I want to make it special for her. I got ready and called Siya to bring her home.
The door creaked open and Shree entered with shopping bags, her eyes fell on me, and she gave me a tight lipped smile, "You are okay, now?"
"Mmhmm...Never been so good before." I jumped on my feet and took the bags from her; she gave me a quizzical look when she noticed that I was formally dressed.
