Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Clara made breakfast as her two friends were horrible cooks. She made scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. Gina helped heat up the milk while Raya remained seated at the dinning, waiting for Clara to bring out the dishes.

They had small conversations while eating breakfast. It was only then that Clara realized she hadn't made a call through to her mom since her arrival in Mystic Falls.

Wiping her finger clean, she quickly walked to the living room, grabbed her purse and brought out her cell phone.

She called her mother's number, it rang for some time before it connected and Clara heard her mother's voice from the other side of the phone.

"My goodness Clara, you scared me," her mother said.

"I know mom, I'm sorry, I lost track of time and then we got tired and slept off" Clara explained.

"How are you, are you enjoying your stay over there?" She asked.

Yes" Clara replied.

They talked some more, the talk consisted of her mom continuously nagging her to take care of herself and remember to never skip breakfast.

After breakfast they headed to the mall, the mall wasn't as big as the one's in the cities. But it can't be described as small either.

Clara and Gina dragged Raya inside the mall, she wasn't very keen with the idea of shopping, infact Raya hated shopping.

She rolled her eyes countless times, ignoring their blabbering as they walked into one of the boutiques.

They spent hours walking around and choosing suitable clothes.

Gina's a shopaholic, she wanted every dress in the store, Clara had to stop her from buying things she didn't need.

While Raya sat on one of the sofas, she yawned tiredly. Waiting for them to be down with their shopping nonsense.

She would nod a yes to every dress they try on, even to the ones that obviously don't fit. She just wanted to get away.

It was quite funny watching the expressions that were on display on her face.

The whole afternoon passed before they realized it was finally time to go home.

"Thank Goodness,'' Raya muttered, standing up from the sofa she had been sitting on all day.

Her stomach rumbled as a result of skipping lunch. She places her left hand on her stomach and whispers.

"We should find someplace to eat"

Clara and Gina readily nodded in agreement, they too were starving. They were so engrossed in picking new clothes that they even forgot to eat lunch, Clara only felt sorry for her friend. She knew Raya love's to eat and she never skips her meal for anything.

They walked around for a while looking for any restaurant they could dine in, but found none.

"I'm so hungry, my stomach hurts'' Raya whined like a toddler every now and then. Until finally they found a dessert shop.

Raya rushed inside, leaving her two friends behind. She took her seat, beckoned at the waitress, who came over immediately, Raya pointed at the menu, showing the waitress the list of things she wanted. After taking notes, the waitress left the table.

"Really…. Raya?" Gina asked, eyeing her friend who was already seated.

Clara took her seat and Gina did the same.

They both stared at their friend who paid no attention to them. They picked up the menu and signaled for the waitress to come over and their orders were served quicker than expected.

While eating, Clara had become uneasy, she had a feeling she was being stared at.

She raised her head in observation, glance in every direction, and found nothing suspicious. But the uneasiness remained.

After eating to their fill, Clara and her friends walked out of the dessert shop and boarded a taxi back to their apartment.

At the very time, two raven birds had just flown away in another direction.

They flapped their wings up and down in the air as they made flight towards the east part of Mystic falls.

They landed on the ground and then they shifted into their human form before walking inside their residence.

Annette took her seat on a sofa and got immersed in thoughts.

That girl is indeed the daughter of that banshee. She said to herself

She needed to see for herself, and that is why she had gone to take a peek at the girl Mira had informed her about.

But now her worries only intensified. She had seen it in the girl, a power like that if left to be cultivated will bring destruction to her and her coven and she cannot allow it.

Setting her to mate with the greedy werewolf will definitely not be enough, she had to get rid of the girl, before her powers would start to grow.

Apart from knowing that the girl is a banshee, Annette had also seen something more, something that scared her.

"Does this mean the prophecy is true?" She questioned herself.

"I must stop it from happening," she said.

Getting up on her feet. She faced Mira who had been standing behind her since the moment they both walked in.

"Continue to tail her and make sure those wailing fairies do not get to her." She ordered.

Mira nodded, she shifted and flew away,

Annette teleported herself to a dark cave. She took hasty steps further into the cave, until she met with a barrier that made her stop walking any further.

"I can smell your fear," a voice said in a mocking tone.

"Your doom is almost here" the voice chuckled and Annette paled.

Swallowing the lump in her throat, she uttered

"P... please I need to know how I can avert this doom". she asked but received a roar of laughter in return.

"I cannot help you today Annette," said the voice.

"You have brought imbalance to nature's harmony by causing division and disunity amongst the four Mythical Creatures of the Earth." The voice said.

"Now go and face the wrath of mother nature" shouted the voice along with a blast that sent Annette away from the cave.

Landing with a thud on the floor of her room, Annette gritted her teeth and clench her jaw.

She vowed to destroy Clara, and the remaining wailing fairies for good.

Meanwhile Clara remained ignorant of the events taking place around her.
