Chapter 23: Chapter 23
Every story has an ending. As cliche as that sounds, it is the truth. I remembered crying my eyes off when I finished Stephenie Meyers' Twilight Saga because I just honestly love her series. I love Bella and Edward. I do not care if there are millions who disagree with me, but Twilight was one of the book series that had me swooning. I remembered buying different objects that has anything to do with the series. I admit, there were some scenes that got me cringing because it was a little bit too weird, but as a whole, the movie was amazing.
My story started when my Lexus got lost. And now, finally, my car -the one who had helped me chase my dreams- has finally been found. I cannot be any more happy. Well, I can. But for the moment, I do not think that anything can top this moment.
"Where is my car?" I asked out loud while I rush inside the station and straight towards Officer Ramon's desk with Elliot on my trail. I usually do not run, unless if I was running late or if there was an emergency, but this is a special situation. Obviously.
Officer Ramon looked up. His brown eyes are wide open and he beams a smile at me. "Your car awaits at the garage."
"Oh my gosh," I gasped out. "Where is the garage?"
"Hold on!"
I immediately paused. "Is... anything wrong?"
He shook his head. "Nah, it is just that the one who dropped it off had left a letter." He slid a white envelope across his police desk towards me.
I frowned. "The one who dropped it off?" I asked. Oh. "So, it really was human who took it from me!"
Two pair of eyes that belongs to these men blinked at me. The one in the police uniform raised an eyebrow. "Who did you expect?"
Elliot chuckled. "More like what did you expect?"
"No one was in the area." I glared at both of them as I crossed my arms across my chest. "I should have known if anyone was there at that time."
Officer Ramon made a noise from his throat. "The one who returned it was an experienced robber." He shrugged his shoulders. "It was his job to make sure that you would not know that he was there. He is a professional."
"A professional robber?" I blinked. "Like, he has a license to rob cars...?"
"So-so." He nodded. "But the thing is that he had swapped your car to make sure that you will not press charges against him." Officer Ramon explained. "He has done this plenty of times."
"And besides, at your situation during that time," Elliot whispered to me. "Let's just say that you were preoccupied."
Butthole.
Of course I was preoccupied. I was busy doing my own shit. Literally.
"I'm going to read this," I told them as I snatched the envelope from the desk.
"Actually, it was addressed to Elliot." Officer Ramon mentioned. "The letter is for him. Not for you." He paused when he saw me glaring at him. "I am just saying that it is his call."
Privacy? It is my car. MINE! My Lexus got stolen away from me. Not Elliot. I scoffed loudly. "It is my car."
Officer Ramon shrugs a shoulder. "Privacy."
I huffed out a breath and looked at El. "Do you want to read it?"
"Do you?" He asked.
"It's your call," I muttered bitterly while throwing Officer Ramon an annoyed glance.
"Yikes." Officer Ramon voiced out. "I hope you know that she's not really giving you a choice, son."
I glared at him for stating the obvious.
"Here," Elliot chuckles as he shakes his head and hand me the letter given by a criminal. Oh, sorry. A professonal robber. "You can read it."
I snapped my attention back to him. "No, if you want to, you can do it." I pursed my lips. "After all. it really was for you."
"No, really, you can if you want to."
"I can but I won't if you want to read it."
"Cobe," He squished my cheeks with his hands. "What I want is what you want, so anything you want to do will make me happy."
I heard Officer Ramon say, "Huh, I'll use that."
Brushing the officer aside, I gave Elliot a nod and held his hands to mine. "We can read it together."
I heard a groan from him again. "It's just a letter!"
I broke my eye contact from El and glares angrily to the officer.
He looks sheepish as he puts both his hands up in the air and said, "I'm going to the garage. You guys make up your mind." Before he got out of the view, I heard him say, "Sheesh. Women."
Despite my annoyance, I chuckled a little, to which El joined in too.
"Here," I told Elliot, "just read it out loud."
"Okay." He smiled back at me before ripping the edge of the envelope and take out a piece of white paper. Then, he started reading it.
"I want to start this letter with the fact that it was not in my intention to steal Cobie Emerson's car. I saw it in the woods a few weeks ago, and since the engine was running and no one was there except for this horrible stench, I stole it.
When I got home, I did my investigation to know who owns the beautiful car. When I saw that it belongs to the daughter of Adam Emerson, the sister of Jay, and the love of Elliot Langston's life, I immediately knew that I have to return it.
But it's a Lexus. I love driving a Lexus. My stupid brother, Gil, doesn't let me use his. I decided to have a road trip from Denovan to Aukland before returning it. I just got back.
I greatly apologize for the inconvenience. I want to assure you that my family still stands with the end of bad blood between all families. I also apologize for the A. 1. stain at the driver's seat.
Good day to you, Elliot Langston. I hope I never have to see you again.
Hibiscus."
Yes, that's right. Hibiscus, the son of Anaconda aka a sore loser who isn't in good terms with Elliot and I's fathers, saw my car in the woods and stole it. But returned it because of the truce they have made.
He already had his hands on my Lexus. He could've stolen it permanently. I would like to call him a wimpy criminal, but since it is my car, I'll call him an idiot who happens to be a coward.
Thank you. I guess.
"So, Hibiscus," I muttered while frowning.
Hibiscus stole my car?"
"Unintentionally...?" Elliot filled in.
"Yeah," I chuckled slowly. "And he returned it...?"
"After a few weeks." Elliot shrugs nonchalantly as he leans on the wall.
"So he kind of borrowed my car with no permission?"
"From the looks of the things..." Elliot trailed off. "Yes."
I distastefully said, "And he left a stain."
"Unfortunately." El nods. "But hey, at least he returned it...?"
I guess.
"Yeah, I want to see my car."
~ONE MONTH LATER~
"You know," I told Elliot as I add glitters on his tail. "You have never really explained why you work part-time as a merman." Yes, I am currently helping to set him all up.
He gives me his famous smirk and let one of his beautiful emerald eyes wink at me, "It makes little kids happy."
Aww!
But this is Elliot Langston. There has to be another reason.
"Uhuh," I rolled my eyes. "El, give it up."
"To be specific," He chuckles. "I saw this toddler crying in the police station a few months ago. I asked her why she was crying."
"Was she lost?" I asked.
"Nah," he shook his head. "She's Ramon's daughter."
"Ah," I nodded.
"She said that her friends told her that mermaids weren't real. And she loved mermaids. From unicorns to rainbows."
"Rainbows are real."
"Cobe," he blinks at me. "Do you want me to tell the story or not?"
"Oh right," I laughed. I guess cutting off people runs in the blood because my mother, Emily, used to love cutting off my dad too. But she does it with the intention of annoying him. I do it unconsciously. "Continue."
"As I was saying, she was pretty bummed. Her birthday was the day after that and Ramon told me that there was going to be a party for her." He smiled at me. "I really wanted her to be happy, so I decided to surprise her as a merman by wearing a mermaid tail I bought in Walmart. And I have to say, I bet I brought the best gift for her birthday."
"Aww." I chuckled while giving him a hug. "That's adorable."
"Do you know why I wanted to see her smile?"
"You are not a pedophile..." I blinked. "Right?"
He rolled his beautiful pair of emerald eyes at me
"You know," I teased him. "That is not a no."
"The what?" He asked.
"The eye rolling thing?" I gave him a silly smile. "That is not a no, Mr. I am a teenager."
He laughs as he boop my nose. "Because she had pigtails and a Pikachu umbrella."
I gave him a weird look. "I never knew you were a fan of Pokemon." I mean, I do not have any problems with anyone who are, but I am just weirded out because I know Elliot for almost all my life. I do not remember any anime fanatic phase coming from him. That would have honestly been cute.
He raised a perfectly groomed eyebrow. "I am not."
I looked at him curiously. "Then... why?"
"She reminded me of a certain someone who used to love hello kitty umbrellas."
For the first time in a long time, I was speechless.
This man...
"So no, I'm not a pedophile." He grins while trying to hug me back, which was a little hard because he's sitting on a chair with his legs in a tail propped on another chair. "I'm just someone who had and who will always love you, Cobie Emerson."
I felt tears brimming on my eyes.
This man, I swear, is something.
"That's the sweetest thing you've ever told me." I murmured silently, "And that says a lot because you are really sappy."
"I am, aren't I?" He smiles cheekily. "But you're lying. I bet the sweetest thing I've ever told you was when I found your car." Close enough.
"You didn't find my car, it got found."
"Hibiscus found it in the woods, and returned the car to the station, and named it for me. So technically, I found it." He winks. "So that means I'm awesome."
"You are." I leaned in to give him a peck on the lips when Easton peeked through the red curtain.
"Keep it PG you little cinnamon balls." He said.
West peeked through the other side. "And save it for later. Langston, your show is about to start."
I stood up from where I was and grin at my lovely boyfriend. "Go, do your thing."
He hops in the large aquarium and waves at me. "Cheer me on, pretty lady."
I waved back while grinning happily. "Always." And I meant it.
Always and forever.

It's just a feel-good book guys. I made it for a good laugh and swoon and probs cringe. Huehue.
I started writing this book on 2017, and there were a lot of hiatus stages in between. My life literally changed during this book and finishing this marks a new beginning.
There will no longer be any more books for this series, but my mind is open in making a spin-off trilogy for the triplets. But eh, I don't know. HUEHUE. So far, I'm currently planning for a werewolf themed book. You know, to go back to my roots, lol.
