Chapter 49: Chapter 49
"Hi"
"Hey" I turned around to see the one person I should not be seeing at this given moment when Kristin was around. But at least he's in one peace.
"Sorry I wasn't able to take your calls, I was kinda busy with training and stuff" Sebastian said to me.
"That's ok, so have you heard anything knew?" I questioned suspiciously.
"You mean with regards to your boyfriend's proposal?" He smiled.
"Yeah, so what do you think about it?" I questioned trying to sound as if I knew what Kristin had proposed.
"Yeah I think it's a great deal you know" he smiled.
"Yeah I think so too, so your planning on going through with it, no hesitations" I questioned him.
"Yeah why wouldn't I?" Sebastian asked looking a bit skeptical at me.
Why wont he just come out with it!
"I'm glad to see you and Kristrin getting along well" I smiled.
He just stood there smiling at me like he knew I wanted to ask what Kristin proposed to him but he just would not say damn it!
"So your comfortable with coming over to our teams after party if your team looses" I exclaimed he was definitely something else.
"That's what he told you?" he looked at me a little puzzled.
"Yeah isn't that what he proposed?" I questioned a bit puzzled myself.
"Of course not"
"Then what did he propose to you?" This is now getting me anxious.
"Well I wouldn't be the best person say so it's best for you to find out from Kristin. I need to go, it's bad enough I'm here talking to you with Kristrin's spies around" he frowned.
"You can't just leave me hanging here, at least give me a clue" I asked while he walked away.
"Hey wait!"
"Annabella why the hell were you fraternizing with the enemy are you still trying to get yourself killed?!"
"Well I needed answers and I wanted to ask him if Kristin had said anything to him about the proposal" I told Steff.
"And did he?"
"Yes but I wasn't able to get what the proposal was about"
"So all that for nothing and you almost got yourself killed" He spoke.
"So why don't you just ask Kristin what he proposed instead of going behind his back, you can't just go speaking to your boyfriend's nemesis before the big game. Are you trying to get yourself actually killed?"
"No but I can't help but wonder"
"I think you'll soon find out after the game has ended, so let's just be patient and try to find a good seat, one that your boyfriend will be able to see you and be even more motivated to win the game" he smiled.
Steff doesn't know a damn thing and Kristin surely doesn't have the time to tell me what he did because the Game is about to start anyway. The only thing left to do is to sit and wait for the game to be all over.
Sigh.
Great job
We had gone home and quickly freshened to get ourselves ready for tonight's game. It all happened in the blink of an eye. My parents had called to let me know that they'd be a bit late for the game after all they've never missed a final for there alma mater.
As we began to search for a good seat to the near front of the stand. I saw Kristin in the crowd of players as he had spotted me also in the crowd of spectators. I waved my hand at him and he smiled adjusting himself as he and the guys warmed up.
The whistle was now to be blowed.
As our team scrambled to get the ball. The other team tried very hard to get the ball past our defense but was unsuccessful in doing. Maurice then single handedly stole the ball giving Williams field the advantage.
And as expected our team was the first one to score a touchdown and I was cheering on for the team but mostly my boyfriend as he was the one to score the first goal for the team.
I looked around and saw a lot of high class profile scouts from some of the biggest football teams and colleges. The stadium was also pretty packed with spectators from both sides.
Soon after about fifteen minutes of nail biting game, we were a couple goals ahead before a fight broke out. This was between Scott and one of the other team's player.
Scott had tackled the player to the ground and was given a red card for doing so. This would be very bad and a significant a loss for us as this would mean we were a man down to win the game and although I'd not like to admit it but he was one of the best players we had given the fact that he was also the team's captain before Kristin.
Soon what came after was a lot of cheering and booing from the stands and I could see the tension upon the faces of our football players including Kristin.
This was one of the very few times he's displayed emotions and this was not a good one. It was as if I was feeling what he was feeling and it was terrible.
Time kept going and the team struggled to keep up with the scores. CrossWell high were fastly closing the distance in scores between us. Sebastian looked to be the one on top and I was getting even more anxious. This could not be happening.
At this rate I was beginning to feel a bit anxious. I can't believe Scott did such a stupid thing and now we're in this mess.
Before we knew it, it was now halftime, then the whistle blew again after some time and with the end of the game fastly approaching. The team was just three points ahead.
Never before had our team been only three points ahead at halftime, to all the finals we had made, we would've been greatly ahead in the lead. The least we would've been is fifteen points ahead since Kristin was captain.
This had the whole Williams field high on edge. Not to mention me. It was added time and our coach called the team for some prep talk.
"This is not looking good" Steff sounded his opinion with a shocked expression on his face.
"I know" I replied completely flabbergasted.
"I think he needs a pep talk" This time I turned to look at Steff.
"Yeah hopefully the coach will know what to do or say" I said to him.
"No I'm not talking about the coach I'm talking about you, you need to get down there and provide the man with some needs of support" he told.
"What, are you crazy? Do you even hear yourself? Plus you know I hate attention. I'll just end up peeing myself plus the team is a great team and am sure they'll make it through" I told him.
"Anna this is not about you. Look at him, he's completely frustrated and looks as if he's about faint from an overwhelming amount of pressure. Do you know how many people are counting on him? Thousands! with the fact that Williams field has never lost a game before and that heavy burden is weighing over him. He can't lose this game, that's just not Kristin. He's known for being ascendant for crying out loud. He'll probably move away, change his name or jump off a cliff. You can make a lot more difference to him if he sees you. It'll make him a lot more motivated and confident to win the game. He needs you Anna"
"No I'm sure they'll be ok. He's a hundred percent motivated plus what am I gonna say to him to that'll motivate him even more than his coach will" His words were starting to get to me and I couldn't let that happen.
"Well it'll make him a hundred and ten percent more motivated at this point in time if he even glimpses you but am definitely sure a kiss will do wonders" he carried on smiling.
Some part of me really wanted to be there for Kristrin but I was completely scared.
"Anna just this once, Kristrin needs you!"
"Forget it!"
"He relies more on your support more than anything or anyone else Anna, that's how much he loves you"
"Annabella!"
"Fine!"
I got up shakily and on edge from what I was about to do. No one has ever done this in history why should I be the first one to do so?
Because your boyfriend need you. My self conscience reminded me.
I shakily took the first step then a second step and as I got closer the stadium which had mostly Williams field students began to get silent. Not a second later the football team saw as I took calculated steps down to the field and towards Kristin.
My breath hitched as I made eye contact with him. He did look a lot stressed and I wanted to run my fingers over his forehead and remove the faint linings that was there.
As I now stood a step away before Kristrin, I had the urge to walk away and so I did..... unsuccessfully might I add. I was a coward sadly.
"No you don't get to leave after making it this far" His husky voice said to me, grasping ahold of my hand in his.
I turned around to look at him. Disregarding the crowd that was now beginning to cheer and the butterflies that was threatening to take over. I lifted my hand to remove the crease but instead was lifted into a bone crushing hug with the school cheering on.
"Eww your sweaty" I scrunched my nose up playfully.
"Kristrin you need to make it quick, we don't have a lot of time left" His coach said.
"Am sure that's not what you walked all the way here to say baby girl" he smiled.
"Well I-I just wanted to say that your a great team player and a wonderful team leader and even if you don't win the game which you will, I and everyone will be supporting you and the team to the fullest. Never doubt yourself Mr. The mere fact that I'm here in your arms at this moment says a lot for it's self-" I was once again cut off as his lips came crashing down on mine.
I tuned out everyone and concentrated on my kiss with Kristin.
And as we broke apart I could hear the coach calling for Kristrin to get in the game and the crowd cheering once more for the team. He then placed me back down on my feet.
"You can do it!" I cheered smiling.
"Thank you" he smiled before pecking my lips and headed back to the field.
I headed back to my seat excited and ready for a splendid last minute of the game.
And in that last minute we were all on edge with five seconds to go and Kristrin throwing the last ball. As we all stood on our toes silently watching as the ball sailed.
Who knew this would ever happen in a lifetime.
