Chapter 315: Chapter 315
"You two have some skills! What are your names?"
"Miss Thornton, I’m Mason King, and this is my younger brother, Leo King." Mason took the initiative to introduce themselves to Anna.
"Oh, so you two are brothers?" Anna was a bit surprised. Although both had shaved heads, their features didn’t resemble each other.
Anna even thought shaved heads were the trademark of Conrad Sterling’s bodyguards.
This Mason had a simple and honest look, a bit dark-skinned, but his small eyes exuded cleverness.
The other brother, Leo, had a sharp, defined face with chiseled features, the kind of face that looked devoid of emotions and difficult to get along with.
Anna had been standing there for quite a while, but Leo hadn’t even glanced at her.
On the contrary, Mason kept trying to flatter Anna, attempting to get closer to her: "Miss Thornton, your look in the new drama is quite interesting."
"Really? Did you write down such an interesting thing in your little notebook?"
"Of course I did!" Mason blurted out, realizing he had slipped up.
Oh, how did Miss Thornton know he had a little notebook?
Anna motioned with her hand at Mason; she had noticed earlier when Anna and Wyatt were bickering, Mason had his head down, jotting things down.
Helplessly, Mason had to take out the notebook.
Anna opened a couple of pages and stuffed it into her own bag: "I’m confiscating this!"
"Also, you two are not to follow me anymore, nor report my matters to Conrad. Otherwise, I’ll post your photos online and say I’m being harassed by weirdos."
Anna now had a considerable number of fans. If she accused them of being weirdos, the faces of Mason and Leo would be remembered by millions of people, making it inconvenient for them to work for President Sterling in the future.
"Miss Thornton, isn’t that a bit harsh?" Mason smiled at Anna naively, trying to appease her.
"I simply cannot tolerate people around me who serve him."
Sorry, but for those who take orders from Conrad, Anna had this stance.
After speaking, she took the confiscated little notebook back to the ward and leisurely flipped through it.
Actually, Mason recorded just trivial stuff about Anna’s everyday life.
It was so boring that even Anna yawned while reading it, unsure of what reporting this to Conrad would achieve.
Eventually, she got so sleepy that she fell asleep by the hospital bed.
The next morning, Anna felt someone covering her with a piece of clothing.
Soon after, something like hair brushed against her face, tickling her, causing Anna to subconsciously turn away.
Yet, she quickly realized something was off, as she no longer had such long hair.
Anna jolted awake and lifted her head just in time to see a face being bumped away from hers.
"Ah!" Faye exclaimed softly, weakly leaning back against the pillow.
Anna reached out to support her: "Are you okay?"
"No, no, I’m fine. It should be me apologizing for scaring you."
Faye’s cheeks flushed, she secretly glanced at Anna, then looked down, giggling foolishly.
"You were unconscious last night. How do you feel now? I’ll call the doctor to check on you immediately."
Faye felt overjoyed: "Did you stay up all night here watching over me?"
"Erm... Who said I didn’t sleep? I just drifted off a moment ago."
"You didn’t sleep well. Why don’t you come up here and lie down for a while?"
As Faye spoke, she instantly moved over, making room on the already narrow single bed and lifted the blanket, gesturing for Anna to come up.
"No need. I’ve had enough sleep, and I need to get to work soon."
"Right!" Faye suddenly remembered, "Young Master Thornton, you surely have a lot of important things to do. Go ahead, you don’t need to worry about me!"
’Young Master Thornton’ was a name Anna had whimsically made up for fun.
Hearing it used so earnestly made her feel quite awkward.
"Don’t call me that, actually, I..."
"Oh no! I promised to tutor some fifth graders today, I must hurry or I’ll be late."
As Faye spoke, she immediately yanked the needle from her hand and leapt out of bed, rushing out.
"What about your injury?"
"I’m really alright now, don’t worry about me!"
Faye grabbed her backpack and dashed out, almost bumping into Wyatt.
After a night of hospital observation, with the doctor repeatedly confirming that her injuries posed no further threat nor would leave any aftereffects, Wyatt finally felt relieved.
However, he couldn’t let it go easily and was there specifically to confront Anna.
The King brothers detected Wyatt as a potential threat to Anna, secretly trailing him.
Wyatt pointed at Anna, ready to settle accounts, but before he could speak, Faye, who had already rushed out of the ward, suddenly halted, and she turned to Anna, seemingly mustering all her courage to speak: "Young Master Thornton, don’t feel sorry about last night, I... I... I’ve actually fallen for you!"
Did she hear that right?
Though Anna had always been popular, she’d never encountered a scene before.
Was that girl confessing to her?
She hadn’t heard wrong, as Wyatt also heard it.
But Wyatt couldn’t testify, as he also doubted his ears.
Would anyone even like Anna with her effeminate look?
And even while standing beside him, the idol drama heartthrob, the girl actually chose Anna over him?
Finally, it’s happening, at long last!
After waiting so long for a rival to President Sterling, finally, it appeared.
Too bad Anna confiscated Mason’s little notebook, and such explosive gossip couldn’t be recorded to report to President Sterling. It’s frustrating! Content orıginally comes from N0veI.Fiɾe.net
This girl must be crazy and needs to be put on the dangerous character list.
Faye seemed to have finally mustered the courage to express her true feelings.
But she dared not hear the ’heartthrob’s’ response or see ’his’ reaction, covering her face and running away bashfully.
"Hey~" Anna wanted to explain, but she had no chance.
The other three at the scene, who knew Anna’s identity, were petrified on the spot.
Wyatt was so stunned by this scene that he forgot he was there to confront Anna.
He looked at the direction Faye had left in astonishment, then pointed his finger at Anna: "You, you, you..."
But all he could manage was "you" for quite a while, unable to remember what he intended to say.
Anna simply ignored him, shifting her gaze to the bald brothers.
"You two, come in with me!"
Mason and Leo followed Anna into the room where Faye had previously lain.
Anna was about to prepare for work, tidying her things while questioning them: "Didn’t I tell you to keep your distance from me? Do you want me to label you as creepy stalkers?"
"No, no! Miss Thornton, we sincerely mean no harm!"
Serious harm would’ve meant she wouldn’t have to waste time threatening them with empty words, she’d call the cops directly.
Although Mason and Leo had helped her the previous night, Anna refused to accept people Conrad sent. She didn’t want to live under that man’s surveillance, which she made abundantly clear.
