Chapter 105: Chapter 105
Anna Thornton looked through the window and saw that the car had stopped in the bar street.
She couldn’t help but turn her head to ask Finn Grant, "Do you know Henry Willow is here now?"
"Where else can that good-for-nothing go except to places to drown in debauchery?"
Finn Grant really held Henry Willow in disdain, referring to him as a ’good-for-nothing’ every time he mentioned him, always with a scoffing tone.
It was said that fifteen years ago, the Grant Family went through an ordeal, and Finn Grant’s four younger siblings were all killed in a kidnapping, leaving only Finn Grant, who was already enlisted, and Sarah Grant, who was too young and stayed home, to escape the tragedy.
This generation of the Grant Family had only two children left: the older one was to be groomed as the next pillar, and the younger one was to be spoiled.
Finn Grant only had one sister left, Sarah, whom he indulged endlessly from childhood to adulthood.
But since Sarah met Henry Willow, she was utterly besotted. Despite so many excellent young men in Aethelgard, she had to fall for someone with no prospects and no future like that good-for-nothing.
No wonder Finn Grant loathed Henry Willow; in his eyes, it was like watching someone painstakingly raised, like cabbage, being ravaged by a pig, wishing he could kill and eat the man named Willow.
"Now you go into Roman’s Bar; the guy named Willow is at the bar counter. Find a way to get him out to the hotel next door; I’ve already booked a room for you."
As Finn Grant spoke, he handed a room card and a bank card to Anna Thornton: "There’s already half a million in this account, and I’ll give you the other half once it’s done."
"Half a million?" Anna Thornton was inevitably shocked by the large sum, "Aren’t you afraid I’ll just take the money and run once I get off the car?"
Finn Grant gave her a disdainful glance, "Earning money isn’t a skill; having the life to spend it is, don’t you think?"
Besides Conrad Sterling, Anna had never heard anyone speak with such bravado.
But she recognized Finn Grant’s power; indeed, he had the right to be arrogant. Even Conrad Sterling had once warned her not to mess with this person.
But intentions aside, she was already involved. Anna could only try to deal with this person for now, and then plan quietly when she saw Henry Willow.
"You’re right; I’ll head inside now."
Anna reached out to grab the car door, but Finn Grant stopped her for a moment, "Do you know what to do later?"
"Don’t worry, I guarantee I can get Henry Willow out of the bar in five minutes. You can notify Sixth Miss Grant to watch the show."
Anna winked confidently at him, but his face suddenly darkened, "I told you to seduce Henry Willow, not me. Stop fluttering your eyes, or you won’t need them anymore."
What else could she say?
Normal eye contact turned into seduction in his interpretation; Anna suspected that Finn Grant hadn’t interacted with enough women.
Or he could just consult Conrad Sterling, understand what it’s like for a stoic ’goddess of restraint’ to secretly seduce you, or what it’s like to be openly seduced by a passionate young mother recently, and broaden his perspective.
After Anna got out of the car, Finn Grant asked his henchman driving, "Do you think she can succeed?"
"Probably; she’s very pretty!" the henchman sincerely praised.
Upon hearing this, Finn Grant frowned, "Lucky for that loser."
"Young Master Grant, do you want to notify Sixth Miss now?"
"Leave that task to you guys; I’ll go inside and take a look."
Finn Grant followed Anna into the night club but wasn’t sure why he felt uneasy.
To avoid raising Henry Willow’s suspicions, he deliberately hid in the dance floor.
Among the dancing crowd, someone whistled at him, and several hot girls immediately approached, but before they could get close, Finn Grant pushed them away.
He didn’t mind hitting women; the Grant Family’s rule since childhood was that whoever blocked his way would seek death.
Once inside the night club, Anna successfully found Henry Willow, who was dead drunk, at the bar counter.
"Hey, have we met before? How about celebrating our fate with a drink?"
"Cut it out!" Anna smacked him directly, asking, "Sober yet? If not, the next slap lands on your face."
"Sober in an instant!" Henry Willow said, straightening up and having a sip of alcohol to sober up.
"Why are you here? Weren’t you on a date with Young Master Sterling?" Henry Willow asked her. ᴛhis chapter is ᴜpdated by n͟o͟v͟e͟l͟f͟i͟r͟e͟.net
"Do you have the nerve to ask? Our date got ruined because of you."
"Oh, it’s a long story! The Grant Family has been keeping an eye on me; they want me to act out a flirtatious scene with you for their Sixth Miss to see. Do you have a way to get me out of this?"
"Sorry about that." Hearing Anna was dragged into this, Henry Willow first apologized, then raised an eyebrow, "But since you’re here, it might not be bad if you can help me get rid of the clingy one while we’re at it."
"I could, if you’re willing to explain it to Conrad Sterling, I’ll agree to play along with you."
As soon as the Young Master Sterling’s name was mentioned, Henry Willow instantly backed down: "Go to the bathroom, I’ll cover you out the back door."
Having spent years drifting aimlessly through this street, Henry Willow knew the bar’s layout like the back of his hand. He also had acquaintances who could help cover their exit, so getting Anna out was a piece of cake for him.
But just as Anna and Henry Willow stood up and started to leave, suddenly the music in the bar stopped, and the lights came on at full.
Anna turned back to see people screaming, some being subdued, as Conrad Sterling strode towards her, bathed in a halo of light among his entourage.
"Young Master Sterling, listen to me..."
Henry Willow stepped forward to explain, but Conrad Sterling wasn’t interested in listening. He ignored him altogether, grabbing Anna and attempting to escort her out.
"Con-Conrad Sterling, I also have something to say."
Only when Anna spoke did President Sterling give a reaction: "You made me wait idly for so long today. You’d better think about how to explain, save it for later."
The ignored Henry Willow: "..."
When it came to being stood up, it couldn’t exactly be blamed on Anna.
She was the victim! She was kidnapped!
Anna worried that even if she told the truth, Conrad’s bad temper might lash out at her anyway.
Consider that Conrad Sterling was an inspirational CEO with roots and an upright propensity, unlike Henry Willow, who idled his days away. It was his first time at a bar or club.
Ignoring deals worth hundreds of millions, he first spent hours waiting for Anna, then more hours searching for her, what exactly was he doing?
President Sterling couldn’t fathom his feelings now, on the verge of an emotional outbreak, just missing a trigger.
However, at that very moment, someone suddenly emerged from the dance floor, blocking their way.
At this moment, Conrad Sterling saw no one, directly brushing past Finn Grant.
Yet, Finn Grant’s way of blocking them was by grabbing Anna’s other hand: "Wait a minute! Did I allow you to leave?"
