Chapter 66: Chapter 66
Madison's POV
I was still sitting on the ground and shivering when I noticed him closer to me.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry master. I shouldn't have eaten the food. Furthermore, I've always known that there's no way this food could be mine" I pleaded with tears in my eyes.
"Leave" He signalled the servants and guards. My heart skipped a beat. Is he going to force himself on me?
"There's no need for you to be scared, Madison. Sit up, and stop shivering. I didn't bring you here to punish you" He continued, and I raised my head at him with arched eyebrows.
"Huh? You're not going to punish me?" I asked with my eyebrows still wrinkled, and he nodded with a smile on his face.
"I brought here because I want you to be here with me" He continued, and I scoffed in disbelief.
"You want to be here with me? What does that mean? I still don't understand what you mean master. Why would you want to be with a slave who you'll gain nothing from?" I shook my head, and he held my left hand.
Am I dreaming? This should be a dream because I'm only a slave. No one would want to hold my hands, and tell me he'll like to stay with me, right?
"Master, Did my master sell me to the valleys?" I asked anxiously because I needed to clear my doubt.
"I offered to buy you from my cousin Stone, but he refused to sell you to me. I saved you from a death sentence, and brought you to the valley's mansion" He explained, and I gulped hard.
"Are you still going to take me back to the castle? I know I shouldn't go back there after what I went through there, but I need to see my sister" I cried out. Tears rolled down my cheeks helplessly.
"Your sister? You have a sister who is also a slave in the castle?" He turned his gaze at me. Sitting beside him was enough heartache, and all I wanted to do was to behave myself.
"Uhm... She might not be my blood sister, but she's more than a blood sister to me. She's the only true friend I've ever had" I cried out.
"You have absolutely nothing to worry about. I can bring her over here if that's what you want" Master Xavier smiled at me.
"Master, Why are you... Why are you being so nice to me?" I stuttered. Honestly, I can't tell where I got the courage to ask him this.
"Like I said before, you don't have to be afraid because I won't hurt you, and I also won't let anyone hurt you" He patted my hair, and I stared at him in shock.
"Huh? I... I still don't understand" I stammered with my heart racing even faster.
"How long has your hair been unwashed?" He asked, and I choked immediately coughing slightly.
"What?" I adjusted the moment I saw he was sitting closer to me. I wasn't feeling comfortable at all.
"It's... it's two weeks already" I pouted my mouth, and he smiled warmly.
"Get ready! The servants will have your hair washed, and a sweet-scented ointment will be applied on the hair as well" He said, and that got me confused even more.
"Ma... master, why are you being so kind? I don't need my hair to be washed my servants when I'm only a slave. I can't be treated like a privileged person" I tried to speak without showing too much surprise.
"You have nothing to worry about, I'll buy you off from Stone, and I'll give you back your freedom. You don't have to worry because you and I will get married, and you'll become the mistress of the valleys third mansion" He said, and I flinched in shock.
"Married?" I freaked out.
Mona's POV
I was still lying on the cold floor when I heard the chains clanking sounds coming from the chains.
Even if I was so tired and hungry, I still wanted to know if my friend was still alive. I jerked up from the ground, and rushed towards the door.
The door was opened, and Axel walked in. I staggered close to him, and fell into his arms. I wanted to be strong, but I just couldn't because my strength failed me.
"Where... where is my friend? Is she okay? Please take me to here" I cried out. Tears rolled down my cheeks, and I sniffed hard.
Axel carried me in his arms, and walked out of the dungeon while the other guards locked the door.
"Aren't you so stupid? You're dying and here you are still so worried about your friend. Shouldn't you be thinking of your own welfare?" He scoffed, and I gulped hard.
I was still in his strong arms, and for some reason I felt so safe with him.
"I don't care what you think of me, just tell me how she's doing. I want to know how she's doing. The Master didn't kill her, right? She's still alive?" I asked anxiously, and he dropped me on the bed.
"You should be thinking of getting better now Mona" Axel snapped at me, and I exhaled deeply then coughed helplessly.
"See? You already catch a cold because of your stubbornness. I'll get you something hot to take. I can't believe you're ready to die for someone else. Is that how much you love Madison?" Axel tuts out loud before walking out of the room.
Even if I was still weak, I still couldn't bring my mind at rest. I really wanted to know what could have happened to my friend. Something in me tells me she's still alive, there's no way they would have killed someone whose innocent. Slowly, I closed my eyes and slept off.
Axel walked back into the room with a plate of hot soup. He dropped the plate on the stool, and covered me up with the blanket.
He got closer to me, and sat at the edge of the bed. Staring directly to my face, he drew his lips closer, and started kissing me.
Immediately, I opened my eyes. I saw him kissing me with his eyes shut. Why am I not stopping him?
"What... what are you...?" I stuttered, and he gasped.....
