Ashley's POV

. " Mom, she's not a part of our group . " I prayed for her to believe the lie as I spoke while running my hands through my hair .

Is she your soul mate ?

My eyes widened as Mom questioned .

My face is losing all of its color .

How did she learn ? She must have heard from the girl . I pondered .

She inquired if she was your mate, not if she was, as my wolf corrected her, and I later came to understand .

" Mom, she's not, " I said . Wearing my shirt over my head, I said .

If so, you have two weeks to come up with a justification for hitting her .

my mother said

She doesn't belong to our pack, as I just explained to you . I said, attempting to sway her opinion .

Finally, she belongs here and there's nothing you can do about it . She said sternly while slightly raising her voice .

" Okay . " I emphasized that I was still unaware that the girl would remain in this location .

It's time to handle her, I say . My sister was standing with her hands crossed when I thought to turn around .

What do you want once more ? Angry, I questioned .

" Nothing major, simply the rationale behind slapping the girl ? "

It was her .

" If you must know, Athena Madam received a slap from her . I must leave . " She was still in my room when I closed the door on her .

I ask one of the guards to bring me Shiela as I enter my office .

I sat down behind my desk in my chair and got to work for the day .

Moments later

My office door was opened, and there were now two additional people there .

I recognize Shiela and the guard just by their fragrance without having to glance up .

I told the guard, leaving Shiela and I alone in the room, " You may leave . "

She walks without giving me a second glance as I watch through my eyelashes as she moves toward a seat .

She sat where I always do when I'm thinking about my mate (that was before I found her) .

Many items in my suitcase have changed since she arrived, including me .

" Do I request that you sit ? " I expected her to stand up and hold her neck in respect when I requested in my Alpha tone .

Instead, she sat motionless, looking out the window as if I had no impact .

The only difference between my fingers print and her face was that the edema had subsided and changed color to purplish .

I said, " Am taking to you, " but she didn't even appear to be moved by my voice .

She is attempting to treat me disrespectfully once more, just like she did in school .

" I will if you don't stand up, " Slap me once more ? perhaps even bit me ? " She interrupted me and moved slowly in my direction .

Do your f**king worst, Mr . Alpha ! I could care less ! She said while teasing me with her chest .

Her coolness made me feel warm, which made me crave more of her .

She took three steps back, and I started to snarl since the coldness had vanished .

" You know I've been so much more at peace since you rejected me . Thus, back off . She spoke while returning to her seat .

" Because you desired a sexual encounter with Lincoln ? " I said while feeling envious .

She began to laugh, which causes me to stare at her in confusion .

" I had no idea you were this envious . But I don't make the d**k national budget for everyone, " she spat in my face .

I found myself choking her out of rage . " How rude of you ! " The structure shook as I roared in rage .

I threw her across the room so she was facing the window since her eyes were all but lifeless .

" You will be placed under house arrest for two weeks . "

I told her that .

Before I ordered the guard to come and remove her from my office, she was still hacking .

" You scumbag, you ought to have killed me ! Do you fear losing your wolf ? " She laughed as she asked .

I spun around, already generating fireballs in my fists .

I marched over to where she was while raising a large flame in my hand . I . .
