Chapter 24: Chapter 24

BLAKE:

Blake and his mother returned to the pack. Blake got out and was about to leave when his mother held his hand.

"How do you feel?" She asked.

"You know how I feel, mother. We have agreed on the union, anything else?" He asked. She shook her head, and he flashed her a smile that didn't reach his eyes. "You need to rest. The journey was tiring," He said and left.

His mother sighed and left as well.

"How did it go?" Ian asked as Blake stepped into the house.

"It went... great." Blake answered nonchalantly and plopped down on the couch.

"Judging from your expression?" Neil asked, and Blake glared at him.

"Where is poison Ivy?" Blake asked.

"She should be at home. Were you expecting her to wait for you here?" Neil asked.

"Don't get on my nerves, boy!" Blake snapped and Neil chuckled.

"Now that you've done the proposal, what next?" Ian asked.

"You two get ready. We are going to the conclave meeting today," Blake said and stood up.

"Today?" Neil asked.

"I told you it's in a few days and that day is today, so get ready." Blake ordered and stepped out.

Ian stepped out to get things ready.

Blake went to look for Ivy and saw her sitting on the branch of a tree, discussing with Meredith. Meredith looked up and saw Blake. She touched Ivy, who gasped on seeing him.

"Ladies," He said.

"You're back," Ivy said and stood up.

"Welcome back. How did it go?" Meredith asked.

"Okay, I guess." Blake answered.

"I'll leave you two to yourselves." Meredith smiled and stood up.

"You're leaving?" Ivy asked.

"Yes, dear. Bye and see you later," Meredith said and left.

Ivy shifted, and Blake sat down.

"How was your trip?" She asked.

"It went well," Blake answered and intertwined their fingers. He wanted to ask her why she walked away when he asked about her parents, but he decided to let it go, since she didn't push him away. He wouldn't want the same thing to repeat itself. "How did your day go?" Blake asked.

Ivy sighed before answering. "My day went well."

"Well, I want you to accompany me, my beta and Neil to the conclave meeting that would be held today." Blake requested.

IVY:

It shocked Ivy when she heard that, but she comforted herself.

"You want me to accompany you? Why?" she asked.

"I just want you to be by my side. You don't he to worry about security. I will make sure you're protected and nothing would happen to you." Blake assured her.

"But I'll be the only woman in your midst. Why not take Meredith too?" Ivy asked.

She didn't want to be alone with them. It's not that they would try anything stupid, though, but she would feel uncomfortable.

"We don't need a crowd there. Just the four of us would be okay. You can't say no," Blake said and gave her hand a little squeeze.

"Alright. When are we leaving?" Ivy asked.

"We are already getting ready to leave. You can go change and come to join us," Blake said.

Ivy nodded and got down from the tree. Blake did the same as they stood facing each other.

"I have to go and change now," Ivy said.

"Alright." Blake smiled and let go of her hand.

Blake smiled again before leaving. Ivy sighed and went to change her clothes. She looked for Meredith but couldn't find her. It would have been easier it Meredith was around to help pick an outfit. She flipped through her clothes, contemplating on which would be good for a conclave meet.

If she was going for a conclave meet, then she should at least dress in a casual manner. She picked out a pair of dark jeans, a blue button up and black shoes. Then she decided on wearing a necklace and earrings. Ivy packed her hair into a messy bun and stepped out of her room. She was a bit nervous about going to the conclave meet where the witch Queen and other powerful people would be present.

As she approached them, she saw Neil getting the car ready and smiled. Blake came out with Ian and she couldn't help but stare at him. He had changed into tight jeans and a black turtleneck. He also wore some boots and a leather jacket with a small silver charm hanging from it. His eyes met hers and they smiled at each other. Ian left Blake, and she walked up to him.

"Are you ready?" Blake asked, using his eyes to roam her body.

BLAKE:

Blake loved how she dressed, and that thought alone made him smile.

"Yes, I am." Ivy answered.

"Let us go then," Blake said. They got into the car and headed for the conclave.

Blake sighed. He was finally going to see that she-devil that called herself the witch Queen. He was on his way qo the same conclave meet where his father was murdered. As they got closer, Blake could feel his anger rise. Ivy patted his hand, and he looked at her before looking away.

"We're here." Ian announced, and they got down.

They stared at the magnificent building before them and made their way to the halls. When they entered, they could see that supernaturals were already seated. Seated at the head of the table was the witch Queen who sat like she was on top of the world. Blake decided to tame his anger. All eyes were on them as they entered.

"Stay by my side at all times." Blake said to Ivy as he noticed everyone, especially the witches, staring at her.

IVY:

Ivy nodded and followed him. When she looked up, her eyes met with that of the witch queen, but Ivy diverted her gaze right away. She followed Blake and the rest, and they sat down. The witches sensed a familiar energy from her and she could feel that they acted strange. They toned down their anger when they noticed her well.

"Now that we are complete, shall we begin the meeting?" The witch queen asked, with an authority so powerful that it sent shivers down their spines.

"The vampires aren't her yet, your majesty." A Gremlin said.

"We can't wait for vampires this time. We have waited for werewolves and that is enough," the witch queen said, disgust evident in her tone. Blake just rolled his eyes at her words while Ivy watched her. "I don't have all the time in the world!" She snapped.

"Let us continue without the vampires. Whenever they come, they can join us," The Fae Queen said.

They adjusted in their seats and everywhere became dead silent. No one was willing to begin the discussion, afraid that their words might anger the witch queen. Ivy looked around, using her eyes to scrutinize their expressions.

"Is no one going to talk?" The witch Queen asked curtly.

"If you aren't going to think, you should at least give them time to gather what they want to say," Blake said.

Ivy gasped and so did the rest of the supernaturals present.

"Are you talking to me?" The witch Queen asked.

"Yes, I am. This meeting was called so that we can all open our minds and express our grievances, but how do you expect them to do that when all you do is to instill fear in them? It isn't everything that can be solved with force," Blake said.

Ivy facepalmed. Is he trying to get himself killed or what?

BLAKE:

Blake's initial plan was just to attend the meet, get a bit of information and leave, but the way he saw supernaturals behaving because of the witch Queen disgusted him, so had to speak up. Ian tugged at his trousers, but he paid no attention to it.

"You're claiming to be brave, huh? Need I remind you that your father was as arrogant as you are," She said and Blake clenched his fists. "And that was what led to his death."

Blake stood up from his seat and looked her in the eyes. He wasn't going to allow her words to get to him. "At least he isn't a shameless monster or betrayal," Blake said.

"That is where you are wrong, young Alpha." The witch Queen huffed.

The atmosphere started to become hot and tense. The supernaturals knew that if something wasn't done to stop the two, a fight might break out, which wouldn't be good for all of them.

"We are here for something else. Let us focus on that," the dragon king spoke up.

The witch Queen scoffed and sat down. Blake did the same as the meeting started in full with everyone coming in to express their grievances but not in a way that would anger the witch Queen, seeing that just a snap of her fingers would get rid of them all.

"It wouldn't be advisable for us to be at war against each other. If our subjects keep dying every day, who are we going to rule over?" The dragon king asked rhetorically.

"I agree with you. We all are one and we are even stronger together..." The Fae Queen trailed off when they heard noise coming from the back. It was the Gremlins, causing trouble as usual. They ignored them and she continued, "War isn't always the best answer, the same as force or violence. We have gathered here in peace. Let that leave reign."

"Yes!" they all chorused.

After a few discussions, they were about to reach a truce when an attack broke out. Ivy gasped and clutched Blake. When Blake looked up, he saw that it was Vampires Keat and his kind. There was a full-blown fight as everyone fought to save themselves and the people with them.

"What is the meaning of all these?" Ian asked as he blocked an attack from a vampire. He and Neil were already covering Blake and Ivy.

This time around, the dragon king didn't run away but participated in the fight. They all defended themselves. When the Vampires saw that things were about to go hit up, this going beyond their country, they drew back from the fight and dismissed themselves from the conclave.

There was dust everywhere as everyone coughed and stepped out of the conclave. That was how the meeting ended for that day.
