Chapter 32: Chapter 32

“I know and that’s why I’m gonna make them regret it on Monday.”

“I'm glad to hear that.” I chuckled and he shook his head, smiling. “You know, after overhearing their conversation, it makes me wonder how many people they have drugged and killed.”

“Don’t think too much about it. It’s their mess, they should be worrying about it. All we need to do is use this info against them.”

“I like where this is going.” I grinned at him as we reached our motorcycles.

The corner of his lips lifted up in a smirk and he said, “Then you’re going to like my plan to get them back.”

I grinned, knowing full well that I will. He released my hand and grabbed onto his motorcycle handles then straddled it. I have to say that he looked hot doing that, but I didn’t say anything. I walked to my boke beside his and grabbed onto the handles before straddling.

“That looked hot.” I heard Jake’s voice say and I looked up at him with a chuckle. We really were alike and that made me find him more attractive.

His hot gaze met mine and he smiled at me, “I wonder if you’ll straddle me that way too.”

I felt shocked as my eyes widened and my cheeks blushed, “Now, you are the one trying to poison my ears.”

He smirked, “Sorry, baby doll. But it’s what I’m thinking.”

“Well then get your mind out of the gutter.” I said, shaking my head as I laughed.

He raised his brows, “I can’t control my thoughts, but I’ll try for you.”

“Nice to know that.” I said, shaking my head at his bluntness as I took my keys out of my pocket and placed it in the ignition. Even though he said, I knew that Jake would never try to say or do anything I was not comfortable with. He might be the bad boy, but he was my sweet bad boy.

We soon reached my house and parked our bikes in the driveway. I climbed down from the bike as Jake did the same. He walked me to the door before we stopped and turned to each other.

He gave me a lopsided smile, “So this is goodnight, baby doll.”

I grinned back at him as he stared into my eyes and I stared back, “Yeah, I guess this is it.”

He moved closer to mine as I leaned forward and our lips were about to touch when we heard mocking laughter. We both turned our heads to the side to see Kane walking towards us as he laughed. He was alone which was something that I have never seen before.

He stopped around two feet from us as he stared between us with a mocking grin. Although he was grinning, I could see that he was angry, but was shielding it with a smile. How did he even find out where I lived? Was he following us? I wasn’t afraid of him anymore, but I was still worried that he now knew where I lived.

I glanced at Jake as he moved in front of me in a protective way. He also looked worried and angry as he stared Kane down. “Do you want a rematch of the other day, Kailler?”

Kane shook his head as he glanced from me to Jake, “It depends. But Max,” He looked back at me, “I can see that you have moved on and have aimed for one of the leaders of the gang. Typical Max, always after power, but it’s sad that you’ll never get true power unless you are with me, the Alpha.”

“How dare you? Say one more disrespectful word about her and see what happens.” Jake said through clenched teeth as anger radiated from him.

“Cat got your tongue, Max, that your new lover has to talk for you?” Kane taunted, looking angrier as I felt my hands clenched into fists as I frowned at him.

I stepped out from behind Jake and stood beside him, “You think you are powerful, Kane? How comes you have a fear of someone taking over your position?”

Kane’s eyes widened in surprise before he clenched his teeth in anger. “And you think that whatever you two have going on here will last? What will happen once you meet your mates?”

What he said shocked us both as realized dawned upon us. We were now wererwolves and have our fated mates. We have no choice in choosing who to love and live forever with. Jake and I glanced at each other before looking back at him.

When he saw that he has us where he wanted, he said, “You have to break up now since werewolves can’t leave without their soul mates.”

Even though I knew that it was true, I also knew that he was trying to tear us apart just like he always takes away anything good in my life. But I’m not letting him do that this time.

“We know that you are only trying to put doubts in our minds and break us apart and we will never let that happen.” I said, and Jake nodded while Kane scoffed.

“Why are you really here, Kane?” Jake asked, and I found that I wanted to know too.

Kane smirked evilly, “I have to check on my little projects of course. Though I never meant to turn you.” He snarled at Jake before he continued, “But you got lucky.”

“Then why did you want to turn me?” I asked as my brows furrowed in confusion.

“To live happily ever with you, Max. Why else would I turn you?”

We all know that he was lying even if we couldn't hear the sarcasm dripping from his voice. Jake glanced at me to see my reaction as I remained frowning at Kane. He looked back at Kane with a hard gaze as his hands clenched into fists.

“Since you are here, I'll take revenge on you for what you did to her when she was in your gang.” He started stepping towards Kane, but Kane smirked, “Not gonna happen just like whatever you have going on between you two.”
