Chapter 2: Chapter 2
I walked into the cafeteria, looking for where to sit after I bought my food. An empty table was to my left in a corner at the back. I sat there and started chewing on my chips, the food that I bought together with a can of sprite. The lunch room wasn't full at all, there were few people in there.
"Baby doll." I heard, I looked up from my food and was met with dark hazel eyes. Of course it was Jake, he gave me the nick name after all.
"Jake." I watched him as he sat down facing me. "What do you want?"
"Now don't be rude, doll. I came over here to keep you company when I saw how lonely you looked sitting all alone in this corner." He explained gesturing to where we were sitting. He seemed serious about keeping me company, but the way he said it made it seem like I needed it.
I didn't need anyone's company and didn't care if I looked lonely sitting by myself. I said what I thought about him keeping me 'company'. I don't need anyone.
"Oh, I'm not being rude. If I was, you wouldn't want to be near me. And I don't need or want your company or anyone's. I like being alone, that's the point of me sitting in this corner so that I won't be bothered. But apparently, you didn't get the hint."
"I did get the hint, I just didn't care to follow it." I raised my eyebrows when he said that.
"Listen up baby doll, I also came here to propose to you. You know how I'm the 'bad ass bad boy' of the school as you said and you're the school's bad ass new girl? I say we stick together, don't you think?"
Jake flashed me a grin after he said that, waiting to see if I would want to be hanging with a guy like him. Like me.
"Now, why would you want to hang around me?" I smiled back at him tilting my head to the side.
"Can't a guy just hang around a girl without being questioned?"
I looked at him, is he for real? He continued when he saw my look.
"A hot girl at that, you are aware of that right?"
"Don't change the subject. And you are not just a guy, you're 'the bad boy'."
"Seriously, you are hot."
Seeing the flat look still on my face, he said, "I am really being honest here. You are hot, and I want to get to know you, the feisty new girl." He seemed like he was saying the truth, but I wasn't sure.
"We are going to a party. I'll pick you up later."
Was he crazy? I had better things to do than go to a party. And my dad would not like the idea one bit. But I never cared until then since I wanted to prove to him that I was changing.
"What? Its my second week in L.A, I can't go to a party already. Whose party is it anyway?" It was Jake's turn to give me a flat look. I should have known a guy like him would see through my excuse.
"Some guy I know, and that's the lamest reason I've ever heard. Now, tell me the real reason." He looked at me seriously, studying my features intently trying to figure out what I was hiding.
"How about I say I'll go to this 'some guy's' party and I won't have to tell you."
He leaned back on his seat, and stood up.
"Deal." His lips quirked up as he said, "I'll catch you later baby doll."
I never told him where I lived. How would he pick me up when he didn't know where I lived? I didn't get the chance to ask him that, he had already walked through the cafeteria's double doors.
And that was how my lunch period ended with me wondering why the bad boy would want to go to a party with me and how he would figure out where I lived.

I was lounging on the couch watching Maleficent when I heard the doorbell. I groaned, I didn't feel like standing up. It was probably Jake, why did I agree to go to the party again? All I wanted was to stay in the house and continue being lazy. The doorbell rang again.
"I'm coming." I shouted, standing up then walked to the door. The bell kept ringing even after I said I was coming.
"Will you stop? I said I was coming." I opened the door right as I was saying that. Jake's lips quirked up as he stared at me in amusement before he spoke.
"You are? Just by looking at me?" He pretended to gasp in shock. "I never knew I could do that to you."
"Shut up, you perv." I turned and walked back inside with him following behind me.
"You know you like it." He said as he sat down on the couch spreading his arms on the back.
"I do?" He nodded, still smiling. I chuckled, and he did too.
"Go get ready, baby doll." He said as he looked me over. What I am? His slave?
"You don't tell me what to do, and I am ready." He raised an eyebrow looking me over again. I was wearing my usual dark jeans and dark green top.
"If you say so," He stood up and started walking towards the door. "Let's get going then."
"Let me grab something first." I ran up the stairs to my room and got my black leather jacket. That was all I needed and my phone which was already in my jeans pocket.
I found Jake looking at the pictures on the wall when I descended down the stairs. There were two pictures which he was looking at. One was of my dad, mum and I while the other was of my dad and I.
"Your mum isn't in the second picture." Jake stated still staring at the photos as I stood beside him staring at them too. I remembered when we took both photos. I cleared my mind not wanting to remember.
"Yeah, she passed away before we had the second picture." Jake turned sideways, staring at me now with a soft expression.
"Come on." He said, taking my hand and pulling me towards the door.
"You're riding with me, so no need to take your bike." He said as we had stepped out of the house and were standing by the bikes.
"Why can't I take my bike?" I asked Jake. I didn't see the point of that when I had my own motorcycle.
"Because." He replied straddling his bike. He looked at me expectedly waiting for me to get on.
"Fine." I straddled the bike too. He was lucky I liked him, if not, I wouldn't have went along with it.

Jake rang the doorbell of the house that the party was taking place. A guy came out of the house after Jake rung the bell two more times. The guy was a little shorter than Jake, he was maybe 5'8" and Jake was probably 6ft. He had on blue jeans and a band's T-shirt, he was fair skinned and had brown hair.
"Jake! didn't know you were going to show up." The guy said, slapping Jake's shoulder.
"Well, I did." Jake shrugged off his am and entered the house.
I followed him in as he asked, "Are the guys here?"
The house was full of people dancing, drinking, and making out. The music was blasting through the speakers, I couldn't identify the song which was being played though.
"Yeah, they're in the back yard." He pointed to a door which I guessed would lead us to the back yard. Jake pushed and passed through the party ranging teens to reach the door to the back yard.
I followed Jake to the backyard. On the grass were five guys and two girls. Three of the guys I recognized were from the parking lot when I first met Jake on my first day of school.
One of the girls was on the lap of one of the two guys I didn't know. The other girl was the first to notice us. Well, notice Jake.
"Jake!" The deep yellow haired girl yelped. I was going to start calling her barbie since she looked like one. She was very thin, and tall and had dyed deep yellow hair. And I do not mean blonde hair.
She stood and ran to Jake, she was acting like a girl who hadn't seen her boyfriend for months. Barbie had a grin on her face staring at Jake, and seeming happy to see him.
"You said you weren't coming," She pouted 'trying' to be cute. "But you did."
She wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Yes I did, Cassie." He said and pried her arms off of him. "Someone made me change my mind." He said turning his gaze to me.
It seemed like that was the moment Barbie noticed that I was there.
"Who are you?" She snared as she glared at me.
"Someone that's none of your business." I snapped. How dare she talk to me like that?
She gasped, and looked to Jake as if asking him to back her up. "Jake?!" She screeched. My god, her voice was annoying.
"She's right." Jake said and walked the rest of the way to his friends. She didn't seem like a friend to him.
"I'm right." I smirked at her and walked passed her to join Jake and his friends.
"This is Max, and Max, these are the guys I hang out with." Jake introduced sitting down opposite the one who had the girl on his lap. "These are Jane and Drake." He said gesturing to them. Drake was an average looking guy with blond hair, and Jane had red hair which seemed real unlike Barbie's.
I sat down beside Jake opposite the other of the two I didn't recognize. "This is Alex," He motioned to him. Alex was dark skinned with chocolate coloured skin and dark hair.
Jake gestured with his head to the three guys I recognized at school. "And those are Mike, Sean, and Shane." They were sitting on my right. Shane had a shaved head and was buff. Mike was freakishly tall and thin, and had dark hair. Sean had brown hair, was tall and lean like Jake.
They were all good looking except Sean was hotter. But not hotter than Jake of course.
"And that's Cassie." Mike said as Cassie sat down on the left of Jake looking pissed off.
"So, these are the guys you hang out with." I stated turning my head to look at Jake.
"They are, baby doll." He answered turning his head to look back at me. We stayed like that staring into each other's eyes. He, staring into my brown eyes and I, staring into his beautiful hazel eyes. That is until it was ruined by Cassie.
"Jake," She started. "Where did you find her?" She spat the 'her' like it was bile stuck in her throat. I didn't like her either.
"She is the school's bad ass new girl." Jake replied still looking at me.
"You're the parking lot chick?" Shane asked me.
"I am, but you won't like what will happen if you keep referring to me as 'the parking lot chick'." I replied being serious.
"I like her," He told Jake. "Seems feisty."
Jake chuckled at that.
"I know, she is."
