Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Terry pov:
As I walk out of my room to head down to the kitchen for breakfast I run into my beta and best friend Mark.
“Getting a late start again this morning?” he asked.
I grumble out a “yes” to his question.
He just laughs and says “you know when you find your mate you will forget all about your dream girl.”
“How do you know, you have not found your mate yet nor have you been in love” I say laughing back at him.
“I don't plan on having a mate or being in love any time soon either, who needs them they are clingy and get in the way" he laughs.
We are laughing and joking about girls as we go down stairs to eat breakfast. As we enter the kitchen I am bombarded by Chrissy and her clingy self. She and her friends are some of the girls who signed up to be warriors.
I don't know why, they learn just enough to pass the challenges nothing to make you stand up and take a second glance at, unless you count my rolling my eyes at them when they look at the instructor for approval. They are definitely not who I want to protect my pack, maybe they will fail the course's soon.
Chrissy has had it in her head for a while now that we will be mates and she is the next luna. Ugh, moon goddess please don't do that to me I pray to myself. She takes my arm and circles it with hers stepping on her tip toes to give me a kiss on my lips I turn my head quick and she hits my cheek instead. I watch her lips pout at this but I don't care. If it was not for my mom being here I would have told her off. My wolf Dakota wants to rip her head off everytime she comes near us. I calm him down and remove her arm from mine at the same time my mom comes to my rescue.
Sometimes I wish I was like my father, and I would find the perfect mate like he did with my mom. She is the most perfect she-wolf, beautiful inside and out and the perfect warrior to boot. I have seen her fight next to my dad and I swear she is more vicious than my dad. Ever since I can remember my mom has helped the omegas in the kitchen at breakfast time. She does not have to for she is the Luna of this pack but she tells me this is the best time of the day with the young ones.
See when you turn fifteen you move to the pack house to start training for which ever position you was born to, or volunteered for. The new warriors come at fifteen also. It is by their choice to be a warrior or not we do not force anyone. We usually have to turn some away, but not often. My dad believes everybody in his pack should know how to fight that includes the woman and kids. So we have three training fields, one for the real young ones, one for the teenagers, and then one for the warriors. Which is more of a rigorous training field. Right now me and my friends are still considered the teenagers when we graduate we will go to the warrior field. Well the ones that want to progress.
I, my beta, my gamma and my top warrior have no choice. My beta which is known as my second in command is Mark, my gamma my third in command is Bryar, and my top warrior is Chris. They are all my best friends, we all were born a week from each other and grew up together because they have always lived in the pack house with their parents like I have.
Mom starts talking to me and that brings me out of my thoughts. “So what are your plans for your birthday" she asks.
“Well we was just thinking about having a bon fire at the lake for all our birthday's and graduation” I reply.
Chrissy jumps up and runs to me hugging me saying“oh I have the perfect swim suit to wear for you.”Really this girl again can she not keep her hands off me. I look at my mom for help, she gives me that knowing smile and takes Chrissy's hand and tells her and the rest of the kids to start heading to school and ask me and Mark to stay there are some things she needs to discuss with us, of course no one argues with the luna, that would be like arguing with the alpha, and I sure would not want to be on the wrong end of the stick when it comes to my mom. Everyone gets up to leave except me and Mark.
She smiles at me and Mark and says“You do know son someday you will find your mate and want be able to keep your hands off of her. And that girl could most likely be Chrissy so you might want to play nice with the girls."
We proceed to tell her our plans, which is not much, we are just thinking of spending the day at the river doing some swimming and jumping off the cliff's and when it got dark time we would light us a fire and sit around listening to music and maybe having a couple of beers.
My mom is satisfied with the plans for the party and she tells us to head on to school. She is going to do most of the planning, for I still have two weeks of school left before graduating.
