Chapter 1013: Chapter 1013
Bai Xiuyou swallowed nervously, a bad premonition brewing in his heart.
Sure enough, the female demon immediately drew a dagger that gleamed with a cold, eerie light.
She sneered. "The inner cores of you cultivators are average, but when they’re useful, don’t waste them. At least they’re much better than those humans without any spiritual energy."
Bai Xiangyu gasped, his eyes wide with shock. "You want to cut out our inner cores?!"
The female demon raised an eyebrow. "That’s right!"
Bai Xiuyou became furious. "The records say Dragon Clan is an immortal race. If you use our inner cores for cultivation, you’ll only ruin your own future!"
The demon’s hand paused, as though she was hesitating.
Bai Xiangyu, taken aback, blurted out, "Fifth sister, is she really from Dragon Clan? She doesn’t look like it, nor does she have the bearing of one!"
He remembered the records mentioning Dragon Clan’s pure bloodline, which was noble and impressive—not to the point of being enchanting, but certainly handsome.
However, this female demon... She was far from even average.
"You bastard!" The female demon could no longer tolerate the insult. In a fit of rage, she manipulated the water vines to toss Bai Xiangyu harshly to the ground.
Bai Xiangyu coughed up blood from the impact and groaned in pain, his chest heaving. He forced his eyes open, only to see the demon standing above him.
"You men who judge by appearances!"
The demon’s face twisted with fury as she crouched down and grabbed Bai Xiangyu’s throat.
The dagger, sharp as iron, was pointed directly at his eyes.
Bai Xiangyu stammered, "I-I’m sorry! You don’t like the truth, so... I’ll say something else."
The demon grew even angrier. "Your eyes are useless!"
"Ahh! Fifth sister, save me!!" Bai Xiangyu screamed, still not understanding what he had said wrong.
Bai Xiuyou rolled her eyes. She was a prisoner herself; how could she save him?
She said coldly, "Big brother, don’t worry. I’ll inherit the family head position and lead the Bai family to greatness!"
Bai Xiangyu, terrified, shut his eyes tightly.
But the pain never came. Instead, the female demon let go of his neck and stepped back.
From the sounds, it seemed like the demon was pushed away by something.
Bai Xiangyu opened his eyes cautiously, only to see a small figure in the darkness, exuding a bloody smell and making faint groaning sounds.
The figure stood up, and with a tiny, childish voice, it said, "Red carp, don’t think you can use Dragon Clan’s power to harm the innocent!"
It was a little girl.
As the demon approached, the light from her elegant robe illuminated her face. Bai Xiangyu and Bai Xiuyou could now see her clearly.
She looked like an ordinary child but was badly scarred, with patches of flesh torn open where the scales should have been.
What shocked them the most was the little girl’s forehead: on the left, there was a small Dragon Horn, but on the right, it was cleanly cut off! Clearly, it had been severed while she was alive!
Heavens! This little girl was truly from the Dragon Clan, but she had her Dragon Horn cut off and Dragon Scales ripped out by a carp demon?!
The carp demon glared at the little girl, her tone sneering, "You little wench, do you not understand your situation? You dare try to stop me?"
The little girl stared at her, unwavering. "Why wouldn’t I dare? According to the rules, all aquatic races are under the jurisdiction of my Dragon Clan!"
The carp demon laughed, her face contorting with malice.
She lunged at the little girl.
The little girl’s inner core had just accumulated a bit of spiritual energy, which she immediately unleashed as the carp demon attacked.
However, the carp demon had been absorbing the power of Dragon Pill Cultivators for years and was clad in Dragon Scales. The little girl’s spiritual energy barely affected her at all.
The carp demon knocked the girl to the ground.
With a thud, the ground cracked beneath her.
The little girl cried out in pain and spat blood.
"What nonsense Dragon Clan!" The carp demon raised her dagger, aiming directly at the wound on the girl’s body.
Blood sprayed everywhere.
A piece of Dragon Scale was ripped off and fell to the ground.
The pain of having Dragon Scales torn off was unbearable. The little girl screamed in agony, her body drenched in sweat, wishing she could pass out.
The carp demon, seeing the torture of such a noble race, grinned in satisfaction.
"You little slut, still pretending? You’ve forgotten who raised you, haven’t you?"
While speaking, she raised the dagger again and cut off a second piece of Dragon Scale.
The little girl’s scream became even more heart-wrenching.
She didn’t beg for mercy, but instead, cried out, "Father... Mother... Brother..."
Why was she the only one left?
Why had she encountered such a vicious carp demon again?
She couldn’t bear it anymore...
She truly couldn’t bear it any longer...
The little girl’s cries roused the Bai family members from their stupor.
Still groggy, Bai Xiuyou’s eyes reddened, and she screamed furiously, "Stop! Stop it!"
Bai Xiangyu also struggled forward, attempting to charge at the carp demon.
The carp demon saw their furious but helpless expressions and couldn’t help but laugh.
"Seems like you lowly cultivators still don’t understand the situation."
She had planned to teach Bai Xiuyou and the others a lesson, but then paused. Instead, she grabbed the last remaining Dragon Horn from the little girl.
"Then I’ll make them even angrier."
The dagger gleamed even more coldly.
The little girl, still crying, couldn’t escape the carp demon’s control. She could only hoarsely plead, "No... please don’t..."
This was her last Dragon Horn!
But the carp demon had lost all rationality:
"No? You were just teaching me about the Dragon Clan, weren’t you? What’s so noble about you? Your Dragon Clan is an immortal race, so high and mighty, while I am just a carp, struggling my entire life to cultivate into a human form!?"
"I hate that you have Dragon Horns! I hate your Dragon Scales! I hate everything about you!"
With a ferocious swipe, the dagger came down.
At that moment, a loud explosion sounded from outside.
The air surged violently.
The ice on the surface of the lake cracked, and the water surged upward.
The carp demon froze.
The Dragon Horn barrier had been broken?
She couldn’t fathom who could accomplish such a feat.
But when the barrier broke, the entire cave trembled as if it was going to collapse. The carp demon struggled to maintain her footing.
The cave quickly began to crack, cold lake water flooding in.
The Bai family shouted in alarm.
The carp demon glanced at them, still unwilling to let go of their inner cores, but sensing that a powerful presence was approaching, she knew she couldn’t stay any longer.
She grabbed the little girl by the arm and dashed toward the cave’s water entrance.
As she entered the water, her fish tail emerged.
With a powerful swish of her tail, she darted through the water with astonishing speed.
Though just a carp demon, she was incredibly strong and agile in the water.
The surface of the lake roiled with giant waves.
However, once in the water, it was her domain. She restrained the little girl, using the surging waves as cover, and hid away.
Unexpectedly, thousands of spiritual energy swords fell from the surface of the water, piercing downward, not toward the Bai family survivors, but heading straight for the carp demon!
These swords of intent carried the power of an immortal!
But the carp demon, clad in Dragon Scales, waved her robe to shield herself. The sword intents struck her, but they felt like mere bug bites—completely ineffective.
However, she noticed that the little girl, relying on the spiritual energy emitted by her Dragon Core, was able to dodge the sword intent. None of it touched her at all.
The carp demon’s anger flared. "Seems like the owner of this sword intent is here to save you!"
