Chapter 80: Chapter 80
I slept on the couch and Joshua on the floor.
The next morning,
Joshua kinda feels, guilty about what he told me of his brother.
"I am tired!."
I cry as I rapidly make breakfast for us.
A later, on serving the food and we eat.
"You are such a great cook!."
Joshua merrily stares at me with lots of admiration.
"Thanks!."
I'm eating not noticing his stare.
After eating,
"I have to leave!."
He restlessly announces.
He is shivering like he wants to tell me something but he doesn't.
I notice it.
"Okay, later. I have to get ready for work!. And don't be late for work, Joshua!."
I tease him.
He nods with a shaky smile, acting strangely.
I lock the door but he unexpectedly stops me.
"Grace, one last thing!. About what I told you yesterday night!. Please don't tell anyone...!..."
He bit his lips in anxiety.
Now I get it, his weird attitude!.
"Understood!."
I seriously nod at him as I close the door.
I rush to my bathroom, take a nice shower thinking about Andrew!.
With that, Joshua leaves in peace!. Hiring a cop to his apartment!.
I finish my bath and I get ready for work!.
Since Joshua told me about Melissa and Andrew's break up, I feel damn hopeful. I feel some great is ahead.
"They broke up the same day I left, this can't be a coincidence!. He likes me!. But can he love me as I wish?."
I tell myself.
I guess I can have my chance with him, who knows, maybe have a serious relationship with him!.
"OMG, what should I do!."
I questioned myself, seated, and rolling my office chair.
"In my office now!."
I pick up the office phone and call the secretary.
"One more, Good morning madam!. You called for me!."
She quickly enters my office and bows as she greets.
"Fine!. Book me a flight for Berlin, for this afternoon!."
I order her
She widens her stare in shock but she dare not interview me.
"Noted ma'am!."
She turns to leave without my permission.
"Also!..."
She stops back at the sound of my voice with a fake smile on.
"I need Mr. Andrew's private phone line!. I don't know how you are going to get it, but I need it!. All this stays between us!. Including the flight!."
I insist.
"Okay, madam!. Anything else!."
She asks me
"Good!. You can leave!."
I declare.
With that, she rapidly leaves!.
I round up with everything and I leave for the house!. I have to pack some little stuff before I travel.
.
.
"I can't wait to glimpse at Andrew!."
Here I am, seated in the airplane on my way to Berlin!. Just for him.
I'm so anxious to extend that I feel like the flight is slow!.
As the flight land,
I quickly hired a cab straight to Mr. Michael Handheld's villa!.
The streets are empty and the road is free from traffic. Anyway, that is how I feel. Perhaps it's just the driver who is doing a great job.
At the Handheld's Villa,
The gateman opens the gate and we drive-in.
"Wait for me here, I won't be long!."
I tell the cab as we pass the villa's gate main gate. I step out of the car, moving towards the door.
I notice a maid moving towards me. She takes me in and offers me a seat in the house.
"It's this way, Ma'am!."
She tells me
I nod and I follow her, we walk into the parlor, and she offers a seat.
She attempts to moves away, but she stops at my words!.
"I wish to seat Andrew!."
I ask
"Sorry, Ma'am Andrew is out of the country for now!."
She answers, with that she leaves.
This shatters my heart into pieces. I remain there devastated, all my hopes and happiness are smashed at the moment!.
Needless staying here. I get up to leave!.
But her elegant, ravishing voice stops me.
"Hello, Miss. Grace!. You're leaving already?."
Andrew's mum stops me as she steps down the stairs.
"Not really Ma'am!."
I turn to her, smiling. Fighting with myself not to express an unpleasant mood.
"Fine, lunch is ready!. Can you join me?."
She implores.
"Sorry, Ma’am!. There is a cab out waiting for me with all my luggage!."
I turn down her offer, trying to move away.
"Don't bother about!. I will sort that out. Will send a maid to get your stuff!."
She insists, showing me the way to the dining room.
We perch.
While the maids serve the food on the table.
The table is damn full of food!. This gives me nausea, I feel like throwing out. Then, I remembered that I forgot my drugs home!.
I battle with myself. Yet in vain, I rush out of the table clenching my mouth.
"Is anything wrong!."
She follows me, very worried
I can't say a word my mouth is full!. I need to throw-up!.
I immediately enter a toilet I found in the corridor, I throw-up!. She follows me and her witnesses everything.
She rapidly leaves without saying a word. I bathe my mouth with some water!.
I move back to the dining room. I found her quietly seated, gazing at me suspiciously.
Her stare freaks me up, I remain standing up and she frightens me.
"Seat!."
She tells me
I shudder!.
"How many months or weeks?."
She asks as I seat.
I quiver on my seat. I hesitate, but she is a woman and a mother, so no need to lie.
"Going to my 3rd week soon!.
I retort.
"Wow, congratulations. I guess the father must be extremely glad. To have a brilliant woman like you by his side!."
She smiles at me.
"How I wish!."
I murmur in a very low tone
"Pardon?. I didn't get you!."
She inquiries.
"Never mind!."
I tell her
"Anyway, I have this, it's good for pregnant women and it reduces nausea!. Take two tablets."
She explains, handing over the container.
I now feel relief, I'm sure she isn't suspecting anything!.
"Thank you, ma'am!."
I tell her as I take the container.
I take out two tablets and I drink the drugs in a gulp. I hate drugs.
Thou, It makes me feel better and very hungry!.
.
.
•• Andrew’s mum, Mrs. Handheld (POV) ¶¶••
I stare at her, hoping the child is for Andrew. However, I don't mention it because it might scare her away!. And the last thing I want to do right now is to scare her away.
"I know Andrew, he won't be happy if she tells me!.
Shit!. How am I going to clarify my doubts?. I can't ask her if the child is for Andrew or not!. Also, I don't know whether Andrew is aware of or not!. But the maid said she asked for Andrew, maybe she is here to announce her pregnancy!. Or it might be for a business meeting!."
"How are you feeling!."
I ask her
"Oh, better and super hungry!."
Grace explains
"It's normal!."
I stare at her
From there, we start eating,
"If this is my grandchild, I have to be close to her. I have wished for this for so long now!."
I'm unable to get it off my mind
We are still devouring,
"Do you enjoy the food!."
I ask
"Oh, yes, I am!."
She smiles at me
”I'm glad you like it!.”
After lunch,
We sat in the living room.
"Oh, Grace!. Thank you very much!. You just preserved me from a very long boring lunch."
I groan, Indeed!.
She laughs
"Really?. How?."
Grace asks
"I'm home alone. None of my kids around. Andrew traveled!. Joshua is out of town. Their father soaked in work as usual!. You can imagine how wearing I am at times!.”
I explain
”So sorry about that ma’am!”.
She retorts.
”Its fine!. I was told Joshua works with you!."
"Yes, he does!."
She approves.
"OMG, all my sons are gone, far away from me. I'm sick and tired of this situation!. Andrew always made efforts to have breakfast and dinner with me, but now he will be out of town for months. I feel sick anytime a think about it. This drilling period will last for long."
I cry
"Months!."
She explains rolling down her stare. Sorrowful gaze swipes over her face and her smile fade away.
She struggles to act normal but in vain, she can't.
I keep my stare on her carefully to analyze any bit of her reactions.
"Any problem, Grace?."
I ask her
"No, no, nothing!. I can imagine the solitude you are going through!."
She covers up.
Smart, girl!. I like her!.

•• Grace POV ¶¶••
I'm doing everything possible not to lose it, in her presence!. Months!. Only God knows when I will have the chance to meet with him again.
Anyway, it's fine!. She isn't suspecting anything. I should leave tomorrow morning.
Instantly pick up my phone and text my secretary to book me a flight back!.
"And what brings you to this town!."
Andrew's mum changes the topic.
"I have to discuss with Andrew, about some very important modifications I want to make!."
I lie
"But his father is at his office!. You can go meet him for that!."
She clarifies.
"No!. I need someone young, of my generation to understand my point of view!."
I lie again
"Oh, hahaha Okay!. If you say so, fine!. Have you been able to contact Andrew?."
She gets worried
"Even as an associate, it's impossible to get his direct line. I only have his business number and he hardly picks it up!. It sucks!."
I twist my face, rolling my eyes in dismay.
"Yea, he hates disturbance!. And you did ask from the right people. Passe your phone let me dial it out. I will love to have your phone number as well. Who knows?!.”
She explains
Weird!.
I and Andrew's mum, friends!.
What is she up to?.
"Okay, ma'am"
I passe her my phone.
I love her though!.
Behind all the fierce stare.
She is friendly and seems to be very simple and understanding
