Chapter Twenty- Seven

ALEX

I look at my surroundings. I was on a bed with a handcuff on my wrist. The sun was shining behind the bamboo curtain. The weather is hot and I smell like dirt and sweat mixed together...eew

I stood up and tried to walk around but then that action made the bed yank me back. Oh shit...now I’m a prisoner in the middle of Hawaii.

Hawaii?

Am I really in Hawaii?

I look at my handcuff and on the clock beside me. 8 am. I snatch off the hair pin on my hair and used it to unclasp the handcuff on my wrist and ankle.

Ha, now I'm free.

I went towards the balcony and watch the wave splash on the sand. I look at the side and found a way out. I raised my foot and manage to go out of the balcony. One more foot, one more...

I jump out of it and landed on the sand with a soft thud. I'm finally going back home. I gathered the skirt of my dress and started to run but I was yanked off into someone's arms. I look up to see Caiden looking down at me with an angry expression. Why is he angry? Oh, yeah I escape his trap but it's too much. Why would he do that to me?

"Cade, why did you do that? Why did you lock me up?" He looked down and glared at me. I bowed my head as I looked down.He look like he's ready to kill me then eat me.

"I'm not Caiden, I'm Caine."

"What? Caine? Caiden? Dwayne?" his eyes darkened at the mention of Dwayne's name. “ I am confused!”

I glared at him and stomped my foot on the sand "Are you making fun of me again Caiden? I'm tired of this" I tried to run again but he just yank me off the sand, carrying me into his arms.

"Arrgh! Let me go...put me down." I trashed around his hold but it just made his grip tighter.

"I will explain all of this to you later."

And as we made our way back to the cottage, I found myself falling asleep.

"Hey wake up," I look at Caiden. It's been a week of me staying with him. He was kind and caring but he has hurt me once when I tried to make him tell me about why did he brought me here.

He still insisted that he was Caine, but I know that all of this was a joke and he's still my Caiden. But why would he stop the wedding before it started? Why would he bring me down here? Did he change his mind? Is he not going to marry me? Then why keep me?

As I made my way into the kitchen, I found him talking with some blonde guy. I sneaked in between the cupboard and look at them.

"Dude, I know you want her but she thought you were him. She will just betray you" The blonde guy exclaimed while Caiden glared at him.

"No, she won't do that Ryder" Ryder? The guy who kidnapped me? The one who almost killed me? They were partners?

What?

"You don't understand dude!" Ryder hold Caiden's shirt and leaned in to look at him in the eye. "She's in love with him. You were just a distant memory, someone from her past, a ghost that keep on hunting her. She doesn't love you" He let go of Caiden but Caiden grabbed Ryder's shirt.

"I don't care anymore, alright? All I want is her and you know that. I'll do anything for her, even if it will make me kill my own brother." He let go of him and turn his back, facing the wall. "Your job is done here, Ryder. Maybe you should go"

"What? Just like that Caine? What kind of friend are you? I thought we were brothers." Ryder looks like he would cry but he's a bad guy. Isnt he? "I thought you have treated me like a brother and I really have treated you as mine. I've done all of it so you could accept me but what? You didn't do anything for me. You just don't care"

He turned his back to Caiden and made his way through the door. "Goodbye Mate, It's been a good while to be with you. Now that you've got her, may you live happily like the one you have planned your future but mark my word, you won't ever, ever change her heart. She's not the star you think she is" He smiled at Caiden's back and slam the door.

As I made my way into the back door, I was breathing heavily. So he's not the Caiden I thought he was...

CAIDEN

I look at the sky. It's been a week since our supposed to be wedding. My private investigators are working hard, but I'm really eager to find her.

My star, she's the one I want- In this world, in the whole universe, in my galaxy. She's always been my star...

A ring startled me out of my trance. I picked it up only to be surprise at Jake's voice.

"Jake, I thought you were in a vacation?"

"Yup, I was but I've seen you here. So who are you kidding, men?"

"What are you saying?"

"I was in a beach in Hawaii and I've seen you."

“I'm not. I'm here in my office right now" I snapped, frowning at the wall in front of me. I've been stressed for the whole week but I'm not giving up for her. "What are you saying Jake? You are not making any sense."

"Well, there is this guy who looks so much like you with a girl who was trashing around. I thought it was you. I thought you're here with Alex; that all of those things happened a week ago was your plan and it was one of your surprises for her. But now that I've called, I'm confused... Are you the one who is kidding me?"

That shut me up and made me wonder. A guy who looks just like me.

My twin…Caine?

Is he alive?

But...

"Cade? Are you still there?"

"Ye-yeah"

"Oh, I thought you have fainted--" As I listened to him blabbering I stood up out of my office and out into the parking lot to my car.

"Cade?"

"I'm coming down there" I ended the call and made arrangements for my flight.

I think it's time for me to see my long lost brother...
