"I wanted to scream but he covered my mouth, I started struggling for release but Umaru was too strong for me, then I recalled that I used a knife for some Orange's and forget to take the knife to kitchen, I begin to search for it and fortunately my hand landed on it without thinking twice I use the knife on him but luckily enough for him it's was just his hand I could cut. He releases his hand on my mouth immediately and I pushed him before crawling to the end of the bed with the knife on my hand. If you come close to me I will be the death of you, and if you think am lieing try it and see. I said even though I was terrified but I didn't dare show him my weakness. He left bleeding heavily but I could careless. I drop the knife and begin to sob. I was still in state of shock when I slept off. A little while later I heard like a movement but before I could shout or react I was knock out. I didn't wake up but when I did I wake up in an hospital. I couldn't feel my leg then it's down on me I was knocked out. I started shouting because I know Umaru was successful, he deflowered me not that I was told but I knew it deep down that he was lucky. Your father came in and saw me crying he told me nothing happened but I know what he was saying was a lie. I was in the hospital for two days on the third day I was discharged and ask Audu to take me back to my parents house at first he was reluctant but when he sees that I was adamant he gave up and allow me to go, but me going home was a mistake because I did not meet anything rather than bad news. Abu died in car accident together with your father's dad. I cried not only for the lost but for myself. Ummu was too weak because of the death of Abu. On the third day after Abu's death Ummu died" Umma begin to cry Tehzeeb helping her because she knows her mother have seen alot she wonder how she could still cope all this year's staying calm all this while. "I cried for the lost of Ummu and Abu, I cried for the lost of my parents that I could not see for the last time before the fire incident, i cried because I have no one left in this duniya to call my own. I spent some days in the house before Nna comes to asked me to come back home with her, because she said being alone is not good. I followed her but I never had any encounter with Umaru. Things started to become better because me and your Baba begin to get along and know about each other more. Nna tried her possible best to make me feel comfortable because she always said have seen alot for my age. From no where Nna become sick which I was worried because I don't think I can loose any one again but Allah had his plan and Nna died too" Umma sobbed "She left me too, everyone in my life left me, I have no mother nor father figure in my life. From that day onward I become to get worried because Umaru could come back and do what he likes to me. I was terrified because I couldn't sleep, I had insomnia, to blink at night was difficult for me. Then a night came when Umaru barge into the room again drunk. He wanted to come closer to me but I learnt my lesson the other time so I always have knife and Cutlass close to me because I know he won't change, luckily enough before he tried anything funny your father came back which they had a fight that got them both injured. We couldn't sleep that night because I was crying till day break,so I told your father it's either we leave the house or he divorced me, which he said we should leave. "Audu if you leave this house know that you have no inheritance" Umaru said to your father without shame. "You can have everything I have no need for it" thus we left and never turned back because we have nothing to come back for. Since then we didn't see Umaru again till the day I gave birth to you which he came and cause rackus because he said you're not Audu's daughter, I had you with someone else because he knows I do have affairs outside if my husband is not around, I didn't say anything rather I cried because I know he want to break my home. Fortunately your father did not believed him because he knows he still have the intention to marry me even after he knows am married to his younger brother. He left and didn't come back again till the day he came and said you were of marriage aged. And you know the rest times he comes. Could you believe he had a wife?" Umma asked Tehzeeb

"I don't think so"

"He had both they had no child, he have married uptil three wives now and none of them stay because of his bad habit"

"Thank God were out of his sight. I hope not to see him again" said Tehzeeb

"Tehzeeb" Umma called

"Na'am" she answered

"We're going to face alot of problem because here is not our personal house. It's a rented house where different people of different characters stays. I know you're not troublesome but please I will like you to endure more, because some might say what will hurt you just to make you retaliate. I hope we should be able to pass our test which Allah is giving us. Please my daughter don't change for anything and I don't want you to worry yourself so much. No condition is permanent"

"Umma I know and I promise not to let you down In Sha Allah"

"That's my daughter. May Allah continue to bless you for me"

"Ameen" with that they rearranged there remaining things when they were done Tehzeeb speaks up "but when did you rent the house and how did you get the money?" Asked Tehzeeb

"Well after your uncle left I know the kind of person he is, so immediately you went out for your IT I went out in search of house, lucky enough I got one not far from here. And for the money it's my savings and that of your father's own. We do save some money incase of emergency, but Alhamdulillah the money was used when we needed it most"

"Alhamdulillah for that may Allah be with us"

"Ameen". Mrs Habiba rented room and parlour with kitchen and toilet inside because she knows gidan haya ba gida ba ne(rented house is not a house), because of there own peace of mind and to avoid gossip she closed her eyes and pay for the rent at least before the money runs out they will have something doing to pay the next one, since she plans to start a small scale business

"Babe I will be leaving tomorrow" AA said to Hajiya Kaltumi

"I thought you're on break?" Asked Hajiya

"Yes but I was called back because of some works. You know about this Endsars issue"

"Humm, is that the reason you're going back now. Am afraid of this protest of a thing, because each and every one has his/her hidden agenda. Some are not protesting for good cause rather causing distructions and harm to the harmless"

"It's okay, nothing will happen In Sha Allah. And moreover have been to many war zones, so chill and pray for me"

"Am always doing that" said Hajiya before she turned and face Hadiza "daughter when are you going back?"

"Guess you're tired of me already" replied Deedee

"Am not dear, but you know you're married. Giving your husband such distance will only give him the opportunity to look at other ladies since you're not there to take care of him"

"Haba Marmie"

"Am saying the truth, am the only one to tell you that, giving a guy a chance is like releasing a baby to do whatsoever he wants, which only results in distructions. May you never see that. So you see it's better you're close to him and take care of him before someone else does that"

"Thanks Marmie. I was planning to leave together with Bro"

"That's good"

"But you will be alone?" Hadiza pouted

"Don't worry I won't, and moreover Gogo is here with me, so you see I won't be lonely"

"That's good. It's been long you went to your shop"

"Yeah don't worry, it's under control. I will resume fully after you guys left"

"Alright then. Hope you don't need anything or should I restock it before leaving?" AA asked

"No need, I will do that myself" and they chat for a while before they all walk back to there various room

They were all seating in the parlour taking there breakfast when Marmie talked "but son I don't think your way and Deedee own is the same"

"I know marmie, I will be taking flight from Abuja to Lagos. I will just park my car in Abuja"

"Oh that's good, because the road is really bad now, especially that of Minna to Bida. I don't know what our government are doing seriously" complained Hajiya

"We should just pray for the best, if not those roads are not something one should talk about" they ate there food and the maids take out there bags out for them.

"No goodbye, because you don't want me to take Nawal away from you" comes Hajiya Kande's voice

"Good morning mummy. Am sorry it's not like that"

"It's okay dear. And you" she turned and faces AA "if you're coming back come with your wife to be or to God who made me you will come and meet your bride waiting for you at home, since you and Ibro don't know it's high time you settle down"

"My sister tell him. Am even tired of asking him. He can do what he likes or you that is there mother will look for a bride for them"

"Exactly what I will do, because have told even Ibrahim it's either they get married or I choose for them among there cousins"

"That's a perfect idea" Hajiya Kaltumi said

"Don't stress yourself, we will settle down soon" AA said

"That will be better. You should start going the road is not good and with this protest going on it's not a good idea to travel late. May Allah guide and protect you all throughout your transit"

"Ameen" and they walked out to the car. Nawal have been crying that she want to see her Aunty before going but since there's no time no one listen to her crying which made her to sleep. They left waving hand at there mother's.

Tehzeeb comes back from her IT program today being her last day. She drops and pay the Keke man before she started walking to the house, almost at the door step of there new house she heard her name being called which she turned and saw who it was. She stopped and wait for him to come closer.

"Oh God am damn lucky. Just left your house now and was told you pack out"

"Yeah we did. Hope all is well?" She couldn't help but asked

"Yeah just came to check on you and Umma"

"Oh thank you so much, that thought ful of you" before the person could speak a passer by speaks

"When did this girl pack here that she have started bringing guys already, no wonder what they said about her" the two ladies that passed by continue talking without Caring maybe Tehzeeb heard them or not

"Forget about them, people tends to gossip alot when they have nothing doing"

"Oh trust me am not bothered nor touched by what they said. They could say more and I could care less"

"That's good. Hope I can see Umma?"

"Of course you can. Let's me call her"

"Oh thank you so much" Tehzeeb walked inside to call her mother
