Tehzeeb just sat there without interrupting her father, when he was through she spoke "Calm down Baba. Let explain to you first" Tehzeeb calmly said

"I will let you explain because I know it's not yet time for your salary to be paid to you" Baba reasoned

"That's true" Umma chipped in

"Okay there was this lady that came to shop today" she explained everything to them while they listened carefully without interrupting her "so that's how I got the money" she finally said and looked at her parents.

Baba finally spoke "I have heard all your explanation, but did you tell your boss or show the money to her? Baba questioned

"Yes I told her but didn't show her the money. She said as long as I didn't beg for it, then it's okay by her"

"Alright. So have you counted the money?" Baba asked

"No Baba you should count it, that's why I brought it home"

"Alright bring it" baba collected the money and started counting it but stopped while counting "Tehzeeb are you sure someone gave you this money just because you help her out by holding the basket?" Baba asked again to be sure

"Yes Baba I'm surprised as well" she said. Baba did not say anything again and continued to count the money when he was done he spoke

"The money is thirty thousand naira as you can see. But I'm still surprised that someone gave you such amount without doing anything for her, because last I checked you were doing your job" Baba reasoned

"Hmm , seriously I'm surprised myself" Umma said

"May Allah do the best for us and I pray the money is earned from halal way not Haram" Baba prayed

"Ameen" Umma and Tehzeeb answered

"So what will you do with the money now?" Baba asked looking at his daughter

"Well, I will take ten thousand naira from it since we're going for excursion and we were asked to pay ten thousand naira" Tehzeeb said

"Since when and why did you not inform us about the excursion?" Baba asked

"I'm sorry Baba. The day I wanted to inform you was the day Mallam Ilaro came to ask for his money"

"Hmm, but you should have told us. Next time don't do something like that"

"In Sha Allah I will not. You can use the remaining twenty thousand to pay Mallam Ilaro's debt" Tehzeeb said

"No, we shouldn't do that. You're going for excursion you will need to go with some money. I will give you fifteen thousand naira and I will pay him fifteen thousand naira. When I have the remaining money I will balance him" Baba said with finality in his voice so that there would be no room for Tehzeeb to argue which worked out

"Okay Baba. Anything you say is okay. Goodnight you need to sleep" Tehzeeb left for her room after saying goodnight to her parents.

"We're blessed to have her as our daughter" Baba said to Umma with love and affection of his daughter in his eyes

"Yes we're surely blessed. I pray the Almighty looks after her always for us" Umma prayed

"Ameen, that's just it. Let's sleep I'm tired"

"Let's me give you a massage"

"Thank you dear" Umma started the massage but stopped when she saw that her husband was already asleep.

The next day after Tehzeeb finished praying she slept again since she would be going to school and her lectures will not take place till 2:30pm in the afternoon. She heard some voices from her sleep so she woke up thinking it was a dream till she heard the voices getting louder outside her room, she hurriedly went out see who the voices belonged to. She came out and saw Baba and Umma close to one another and could not see the third person until the person spoke up " my money or I will call the police instantly" the person's voice boomed. Tehzeeb quickly came out from her parents back which they didn't notice she had woken up "Mallam Ilaro take it easy please. No need to call the police. Baba will pay you your money" Tehzeeb said to Mallam Ilaro in a calm voice

"Don't tell me to calm down. The week you asked for is already up. My money or the police?" Mallam Ilaro said without any care or remorse for barging into someone's house early in the morning.

Tehzeeb faced her father and asked him "Baba where is the money you planned to give him?" Tehzeeb asked Baba, He put his hand inside his pocket and brought out the money and handed it over it to Tehzeeb. She gave the money to Mallam Ilaro which he counted the money "The money is not completed" Mallam Ilaro said looking at Tehzeeb's father

"I know it's not yet completed. I wanted to come and meet you in the house before going to shop but you couldn't allow me to come first, and when you came you started shouting without even greeting us first" Baba said calmly

"I Have heard you. When are you giving me the balance" Mallam Ilaro said without a care of anything apart from his money

"Give us some weeks and we promise to pay you the balance" Tehzeeb replied

"I'm giving you just two weeks make sure you pay before then" Mallam Ilaro said and walked out of the compound.

"Baba why didn't you give him the money?" Tehzeeb asked

"When he came he didn't even allow me talk, he started shouting, I couldn't talk or give him the money because by then his eyes were closed and all he cared about was his money" Mallam Audu said to his daughter

"Before the two weeks we will pay him back In Sha Allah" Tehzeeb said with a new determination to pay off her Father's Dept

"Don't worry dear. I'm saving some money which I will use to pay the remaining Debt" Baba said to her

"It's okay. Let me go and dress up for school"

"That's good, hurry up so you won't be late for your lectures" Umma said and they all left for their morning routine.

He was busy dressing up because he was late for work, so he hurriedly put on his clothes without thinking of breakfast. He set his foot to go out when his phone began to ring, he fished it out from his pocket and saw the name My Hope  boldly written on the phone screen but he didn't pick up the call, he entered his car and drove off. He connected his phone with the car's Bluetooth and put it on speaker before he called the person back. On the first ring the call was picked "Bae, how are you?" The person from the other side of the phone spoke

"I'm fine babe. Sorry I was not able to pick your call I was dressing up" the guy said

"It's okay. Hope you had your breakfast before you left the house?"

"No babe, I couldn't. Moreover I'm already late"

"Why will you do that, you know the line of your work. It's requires alot of energy so that you can function well"

"I know but I promise to do that immediately I get to the office"

"Please try to eat when you get there"

"I promise I will do that. How are you?"

"I'm fine but really missing you"

"I miss you too. Don't worry I will soon be back to see you"

"That will be good. Hope you're hearing from your sis?"

"Yes I am"

"That's good. Safe trip, may the Lord be with you"

"Ameen bye" and the call was disconnected while he continued to drive till he arrived at the office.
