Chapter 64: Chapter 64
Our little Talitha is four days old and officially getting released from the hospital. All of her tests have been coming back very well but the doctors just said they needed to monitor her for this length of time to be sure. We have been given a list of things to watch for, along with her pediatrican visit scheduled.
Through this time neither of us has left Talitha. We have been rooming in with her.
I am forever grateful for Laken taking on a bit more to help me. He did bring my laptop to me to where I could still work from the hospital room.
It was perfect timing for Kelsie's catering business since their next scheduled event is not until next week. So nothing has had to be canceled.
Everyone has came to visit twice each already since they found out when they were calling to wish a Happy Anniversary. They have all welcomed Talitha just as if Kelsie had gave birth to her and it warms Kelsie and I both so much that they have not treated Talitha any different than they did when Joseph was born.
Between my Mom and Kelsie's mom, along with the other two ladies, they have planned a surprise party for Kelsie and Talitha today. Dad still has the key to my house and they have went over an hour ago to decorate and set up to where it is a major surprise for Kelsie when we walk through our door for the first time with our daughter.
I trust everyone around us and they never snoop. The key to the sex dungeon is at least hidden too.
Those thoughts pass by quickly but I know that Laken, Kelvin, and Dad will be up stairs with taking the guest bed down and installing the crib. Along with all the other nursery pieces that everyone insists we have for Talitha. Something I had thought about and Kelsie has too, so she knows that they are doing that but not the party part.
If someone had told me this would be my life five or even four years ago, I would have laughed so hard. Now, I wouldn't change it for the world as I see Kelsie asleep on the hosptial bed and Talitha sleeping sound in her bassinet.
A knock sounds on the door before a nurse walks in.
"Hello. I have the discharge papers and instructions the doctor said to give you an hour ago."
"Yes." I smile and see as Kelsie sits up and rubs her eyes lightly.
We have both been guilty of just staring at Talitha as she sleeps. Making us both sleep deprived, but Kelsie has gotten naps in on the bed that is in the room, while I have slept sitting up here on the couch. Let Talitha make the least little sound and the both of us are wide awake though.
We sign the discharge papers and the nurse smiles.
"The last thing is her car seat." The nurse looks at us.
"Oh, I got that here." I grab it from the side of the couch.
Thankfully when Kelsie and I ordered it all and had it speed delivered to the house along with everything for the nursery Mom and Dad picked it up and brought it to us last night.
Dad got the base installed in my car last night.
Kelsie picks Talitha up and sits her in the car seat, we get her buckled in and the nurse checks it before she okays it and walks us out with the supplies the hospital is sending home with us too.
Once we are in the car, I look over to Kelsie and we hold hands.
"Oh! Aiden we will need to stop at the store and get more formula."
"I got that covered Cookie."
She smiles and leans back in the seat.
"This is the best ever. I love you so much."
"I love you the most." I pick our hands up and kiss hers. "There is no better feeling in the world than you as my wife and our little girl."
In no time we make it home and I park in front of the house this time. Kelsie never even questions it which makes me smirk as I round the car where she is already getting Talitha out of her car seat. I wrap an arm around her waist and we walk up to the front door, where I use my key to unlock it.
"Welcome home Talitha." Kelsie smiles looking down at our sleeping daughter as I open the door and see everyone but she hasn't yet.
"Surprise!" Everyone smiles while talking lightly with their hands in the air.
"Surprise Aunt Elsi!" Joseph all but shouts making us all laugh with how he has problems pronouncing Kelsie's name and also with how excited he is as he runs over on wobbling legs. I move my arm from Kelsie and swoop him up as he gasps looking down at Talitha.
"She is pretty. Why not her eyes open?" Joseph frowns and everyone awes at him.
"Talitha is sleeping." Kelsie smiles at Joseph and leans over to kiss his cheek.
"We got food and gifts." Mom and Emily bounces over.
Kelsie looks at them confused.
"This is a party and warm welcoming to Talitha. She will need things and this is like a baby shower just for you guys." Mom gushes, while Emily nods.
"Thank you Mom." Kelsie looks at her mom and tears up. "Thank you Stephanie."
"Thank you everyone." Kelsie smiles when she sees the others.
"I need some baby time again." Naida rubs her hands together.
"Please let her because I am not ready for another one in the house just yet." Kelvin laughs.
"That toddler phase can be hard huh." Owen and my Dad pat his back laughing.
"It is when my son is the version of me as a child but worse." Kelvin chuckles.
"Don't talk bad about your nephew he is an angel." Kelsie takes Joseph from me.
"Only for his Aunt." Naida chimes in while holding Talitha, laughing lightly.
"I am next to hold the little girl." Valan walks up and hugs Kelsie on the side with her holding Joseph on her hip.
"Wanting one now Valan?" I chuckle as Laken pales.
Valan smirks but doesn't say anything. As all the girls giggle and move over to the couch talking away over Joseph and Talitha.
"I wouldn't know what to do with a baby." Laken stutters silently.
I laugh and pat his back. "I only know the basics myself other than some from when we have watched Joseph. It is a learn as you go."
"Feed, change, bath, and cuddle is the basics to start with." Owen laughs.
"It comes naturally. As does the scared feeling at first." Dad adds in laughing.
We spend the afternoon talking, eating delicious food that the ladies made instead of ordering in, then they have Kelsie and I open tons of gifts.
Talitha has so many clothes that have been prewashed and placed in clean clothing bags. Several of her outfits, Mom and Dad made themselves in just these four days she has been born. Along with so many different other things all needed for Talitha. Kelsie got a carrying piece that she can up on her body and Talitha sit in it against her chest, along with some lotions. They gifted me with a coffeee cup saying worlds best dad. Then together Kelsie and I have a huge blanket with all our names in it.
