Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Jaxon placed her on the bed and tucked her carefully before going to settle on the couch. Lauren lifted her head to see him and in the meantime, he also looked at her and their eyes locked. They kept staring at each other silently until a loud thunder struck. They looked away feeling awkward.

"Are you going to sleep on that couch?" Lauren asked him while looking at the couch which was quite small for him. Jaxon snapped his head at her side.

"Why do you want me to sleep with you?" There was a teasing smile plastered on his lips. And Lauren looked at him stunned.

"Don't provoke my beast. Otherwise, he won't take a minute to devour you." Stating that he sat there straight and Lauren gasped in fear and kept lying there silently.

"You don't have to sit here all night for me. You can go and sleep in your room." She said in a low tone timidly.

"I'm not sitting here for you. I'm protecting my pup." Jaxon said sternly and Lauren narrowed her eyes at him.

"I'm not pregnant with your child yet." She mumbled under her breath but he heard her.

"You are going to be very soon." Lauren's palm covered her mouth as she heard him.

"Shit! He heard what I said." Lauren swore.

"Umm, are you going to stay awake the whole night?" She asked curiously. And this time he glared at her.

"Can't you sleep quietly? Do you want me to sing a lullaby for you now? You are driving me insane, women." He barked at her irritatedly making her startled with fear. So she hid inside the duvet.

"I was just worried for you." She said in a low tone on the verge of crying. Because his voice was too loud which scared theshit out of her.

His eyes softened as he realized he was too harsh just now. He noticed her eyes twinkle with tears so he stood up and went near her. Lauren tried to hide her tears but failed as they slid down from the corner of her eyes falling on her pillow and making it wet.

Jaxon reached out his hand to touch her head but withdrew it. "I didn't mean to yell at you. I was just fucked up by some issues. So my anger lashed out at you." He said and let out a sigh.

"I know you are unable to sleep as it's a new place. But try to sleep. I have work to handle so I'm going to my study room. If you need any help just press this buzzer I'll be there for you." saying that he just scooted from there. And Lauren kept looking at the closed door with her wet eyes. Soon she was consumed in a deep slumber.

Her sleep was disturbed by the ray of the sun which was coming from the corner of the curtains. Her eyes flickered and she opened her eyes to see a beautiful thing in front of her. She blinked her eyes to confirm she wasn't hallucinating but it was still there so she reached out her hand to touch it and gasped when her skin felt its presence. She immediately withdrew her hand and kept staring at him holding a smile on her face.

"He looks more handsome while sleeping." Lauren thought in her mind looking at Jaxon who was sleeping next to her. It was a pleasant surprise for her. She has never woken up seeing a handsome man beside her.

Her hand reached his face without her realizing and her finger traced his cheek lightly. Which made her feel a tingle in her finger.

"Are you taking advantage of me?" Jaxon's voice startled her and when his eyes snapped open she immediately withdrew her hand back looking at him nervously. She didn't mean to wake him up but the urge to touch his face put her into trouble.

Jaxon raised his left brow at her and she gulped down blinking her eyes nervously while thinking of any excuse but nothing was coming to her mind.

"I wasn't taking advantage of you. Don't spout nonsense." Saying that she quickly ran to the bathroom to save herself from the awkward situation.

"Hey, stop." Jaxon jolted up to stop her but she just ran off. Jaxon shook his head smiling like a fool looking at the closed door of the closet.

He was amazed to find himself on the bed with her because as much as he remembered he slept in his study room last night but how he ended up sleeping in with her he didn't know. The only possibility was it was his beast who brought him into her room. But why?

He did ask his wolf for an explanation but his arrogant wolf didn't bother to answer him.

Closing the bathroom door Lauren leaned on it and palmed her face feeling embarrassed. She has never felt so embarrassed in her entire life but today. She made a fool of herself by pulling such a stupid stunt.

"Stupid me." She smacked her head feeling irritated.

"Wait! What was he doing in my bed? He wasn't allowed to sleep with me." When the realization hit her, she immediately went out of the bathroom and walked through the closet making her way to her room but found no one there. Jaxon was nowhere to be seen.

Lauren let out a frustrated groan and then went back to take a shower. After getting freshened up she went down looking for Jaxon.

"Hey, April, did you see Jaxon?" She asked the caretaker who was setting the breakfast table.

"Yeah, Alpha is in the left room next to your room." Lauren looked up and scooted upwards taking the stairs.

"Miss….." April wanted to say something but before she could Lauren was gone by now. April kept looking at the stairs looking scared.

Reaching his door she didn't bother to knock the door and dashed into his room.

"Mr. Knight, today you can't escape……." Her words died in her throat witnessing the scene in front of her. Her heart stopped beating and her mouth was left open. Her big round eyes were about to come out of their sockets.

As Jaxon was standing in front of her wearing nothing but a white towel around his waist. Jaxon was looking sexy as ever with water droplets dripping from his hair falling across his face, down his neck to his right pack. Lauren swallowed hard looking at the Greek God standing before her all ready to kill girls with his sexy look. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she wanted to capture this moment on her phone camera.

"Liked what you see?" Jaxon asked Lauren with a smirk who was lost in his beauty.

"Liked? I loved it. I badly want to run my fingers on that sexy body." Lauren said dreamily.

"Oh, really!" Jaxon was holding a mischievous smirk on his face and just then Lauren realized what she had just said and her eyes went wide in shock. While her palms reached out to cover her mouth.
