LAUREN…..

I looked at my reflection in the mirror and admired my new transformation after I got my wolf and angelic power. My strawberry blonde hair transformed into black with purple strands. And my once chocolate eyes turned light purple.

I got my wolf last night. She's beautiful. She has bluish-black fur with two different coloured eyes. One was red while the other one was purple. I didn't know how to enter the Midnight Pack that belongs to my family. I have to get it back at any cost.

Myra and Alex were back. I didn't tell her anything about me being a hybrid. She was unaware of such things. She believed such supernatural things only exist in books and movies.

After closing the restaurant I told Myra to go home with my car. I told her I have some important work to finish. She thought I was going on a date with Luca so she didn't ask much. But I just needed to think of an idea to get into the Midnight Pack to kill Alpha King Lucas. So I went to the woods where I shifted for the first time. Moreover I needed to train my wolf and practice my powers.

I ran into the woods in my wolf form and she was too happy for that. I was sitting near the lake after running in my wolf form for hours. I wanted to feel exhausted so that I could sleep. And my mind needed fresh air. I ran my brain in every direction for some idea. But I was not satisfied with the idea so I canceled them.

I got alerted when suddenly I heard some noise coming from the woods. I got up and looked towards the woods to see if it was some wild animal or if it's a human.

And I saw a pair of golden eyes shining from the bushes. I waited for it to come out. If I move it will feel threatened and attack me. It's better I wait here and see what it wants

Suddenly I saw a dark brown wolf walking through the woods approaching me. And I knew who it was. It was Jaxon’s Lycan. I have seen it once. But how did he find out that I'm here?

Suddenly my wolf started to go wild in my mind. I didn't understand what was happening to her until she growled one word.

“Mate,”

My eyes went wide in realization. Jaxon is my mate?

He transformed back and reached me with long strides. “Mate.”

He leaned into the crook of my neck and inhaled my scent. “Mine.” I could feel his canines against my neck but before he could mark me I pulled back from him.

“What are you doing here, Jaxon?” I asked him calmly and he walked closer to me, decreasing the distance between us.

He pressed his forehead with mine and our noses were almost touching. “I missed you Ren. Where were you? Why did you leave me? You left without saying anything to me. I had decided to divorce Brianna and make you my Luna but before I could say this to you, you disappeared. You have no idea how I lived without you. Everyday without you was hell.” His voice was low and vulnerable.

“I saw you at your restaurant. But I didn't know how to approach you. How you will react to seeing me. I tried. I tried my best to stay away from you. Just to give you some space. But I couldn't stay away from you anymore. Every second was painful without you. I don't think I can stay away from you.”

My heart tightened in pain as he said that. I could sense his pain just by his words. Suddenly I felt something wet fall on my cheek. I pulled away to look at him and found him crying.

I was shocked to see him so vulnerable in front of me. “Jaxon!” I held his face and wiped the tears off. Then he held my hand that was on his face.

“Please, don't leave me. I can't lose you. I admit that I never expressed my feelings to you. But I always loved you. We are meant to be, Lauren. See, even the Moon Goddess wants us to be together that's why we are fated mates. I'm happy that you got your wolf. I know I was a jerk back then, but believe me I will treat you well now. The way you deserve.”

I could tell he was definitely in pain without me by looking at his face. It has lost its shine. I have never seen him like that.

“I can't Jaxon.” I looked away from him but he cupped my face and made me look at him. “Didn't you miss me for a moment?” He asked, looking right into my eyes. As if trying to find his answer in my eyes. Because eyes never lie.

“No.” I still lied to him and he chuckled.

“But your eyes are telling a different story. You are also in pain without me. Why are you torturing yourself like this? Can't we start over?” He asked but before I could say anything he closed the distance between us and pressed his lips on mine, melting my heart away.

Our kiss became heated as I parted my lips and he took access into my mouth, tasting every corner of my mouth. A moan left my mouth and I gave in, kissing him back with the same passion.

Goddess! I missed him and our kisses. We pulled away when we were out of breath. Our foreheads were pressed together as we were panting for breath. “If you want a second chance then earn me.” Saying that I pulled away from him and gave him a hard look.

“Are you challenging my love? You know very well that your heart will give in, in front of me, even your body. I will make you mine again. You were mine, you are mine, and you will always be mine. Remember that. See you soon.” Saying that he walked into the woods disappearing into the darkness. I also left the place with my car.

After taking a warm shower I went to sleep and suddenly the doorbell rang. I looked at the wall clock and found it near midnight. Who could it be? Luca?

I went to the main door and peeked through the peephole and was shocked to find Jaxon standing before my door. I quickly opened the door and pulled him inside before anyone noticed him.

“What are you doing here, Jaxon?” I yelled at him but he grinned in response.

“Let's sleep together.” His words made my eyes wide.

“Are you drunk? What are you talking about? We can't sleep together.” I yelled at him again.

“Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! My love, I didn't mean to make love. I just want to sleep with you, cuddling. You don't know I couldn't sleep at all these days. I had to take sleeping pills. Now I'm tired of sleeping pills.” I felt bad for him hearing that.

“I swear, I won't do any naughty things with you. I will just sleep hugging you.” Pinching his throat he said with an innocent face. There was no harm in sleeping together, hugging each other so I agreed with him.

“Okay, you can sleep with me. But if you try to do something naughty with me then I will kick you out of the house next moment. Got it?” Pointing my finger at him I warned him and he nodded.

Then he suddenly started to take off his clothes. “Hey! Hey! Hey! What are you doing? Why are you taking off your clothes?” I yelled at him and he looked at me amazed.

“Do you want me to sleep on this? My clothes will get ruined if I sleep in them. And anyway, you have seen me naked. Why are you making a scene now? I’ll keep my boxer on. Don't worry.”

Huhh! Don't worry. I have told him not to cross any line between us. But what if I lose control over myself?

“Are you worried that you might not be able to control yourself?” He asked me with a dirty smirk on his face and I glared at him. Now I regret agreeing to sleep with him. It was his trap. He will seduce me so that I lose control over me and take the initiative.

No way!

Nothing is going to happen between us.

I made up my mind and looked at him seriously.

“In your dreams. Nothing is going to happen between us.” Saying that I got on the bed and pulled the duvet over me. He also got on the bed and lay down beside me, pulling the duvet on him.

“Come.” He opened his arms for me to hug him and I moved close to him. He snaked his arm around my waist and held me close to him. My head was pressed against his chest and I wrapped my arm around his waist too.

“Good night.” I felt him kissing my forehead and a smile appeared on my lips. My eyes were closed as I felt myself melting in him. I felt at peace. I felt safe. As if I found my home. I didn't realise when I drifted into the land of slumber.

I woke up at the sound of my alarm but I sat up with a jerk when I remembered about last night. I looked beside me and found the bed empty. I touched the bed and found it cold. When did he leave?
