Chapter 46: Chapter 46

LAUREN…..

Next morning the three of us had our breakfast together in my apartment just like a family. Alex was super duper excited to join the taekwondo center. After breakfast we went there with Luca. Luca introduced me to his friend and I talked to him about Alex joining his team. After making him the team member they gave him the dress and let him join the kids. I watched as the coach trained the kids.

I was the daughter of a delta. My fighting skills are fine. I could teach Alex how to fight but he wanted to learn Taekwondo so I let him. I tried to fulfill all his dreams.

“You know your son is learning this to protect you.” I snapped my head to look at Luca.

“Are you serious?” I asked and he nodded his head.

“When we were talking last night he said how bad people used to disturb you. He said he wants to protect his Mom from bad people.” I looked at my son who was keenly observing his coach.

“He is a nice kid.” A smile broke into my lips looking at my son.

“He had a tough life since childhood. When she was four we got to know that he had blood cancer. He fought it bravely. When I went to work he stayed with my friend. I couldn't give him much time. And I wasn't able to fulfill his wishes either. My son had gone through a lot at such a young age. I feel sorry for him sometimes that he had to bear all this because of his Mom.”

Tears welled up in my eyes when I remember those days when he was in pain. So much pain that it broke my heart everytime I saw him wailing in pain.

“Don't blame yourself. You didn't choose this destiny yourself. It was written in your fate. You were a fabulous Mom. He told me how you take care of him even though it was tough for you to manage work and taking care of him. You're his superhero.”

Tears rolled down from my eyes knowing what my son thought about me. He never shared these things with me but he did with Luca. He always wanted a Dad for himself. He was so happy when Rhys came into our life. But things didn't work between us.

I couldn't tell Jaxon about his son. And I can't tell Alex who his real father was. I hope to find someone who can be a fabulous father for my son. Luca and Alex became very close and I felt Luca was interested in me. Let's see how things go. He's a nice man though if things go well between us then I won't mind being together with him. I also need someone to move on from Jaxon.

“I'm sorry, you have to come with us. After coming here, I have bothered you a lot.” Luca laughed at my words.

“And you are giving me food in return. It's fair enough.” I smiled at his words. He's generous enough to help us with everything.

After training we went back home. I had to go to my restaurant to see how the decorations were going. I was quite satisfied with how they were working. They are very dedicated with their work. I was impressed by their work progress. I stayed there till evening then went back home to check on Alex.

His school will start tomorrow. He's super excited to make new friends here. He's very easy going so he can make friends very easily. Today he made some friends at the training center too. I made lunch for Alex and Luca in the morning.

“Monkey.” Unlocking the door I called for him and he came running to me from him room.

“I missed you Mom.” He wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me tightly.

“See, I brought snacks for you. Go enjoy them while watching TV. I'm going to freshen up then I will start to make dinner.” He nodded and went to the living room to watch TV.

After freshening up I went to the living room and hung out with my son for sometime while watching TV with him and munching chips. Then I went to make dinner for us. Luca will be coming back from his office.

It took two hours for me to make the arrangements for cooking and then cook. I was serving them at the table when the doorbell rang. Alex ran to open the door excitedly. I laughed seeing him so excited.

“Uncle Luca.” He threw his arms around his waist and hugged him. Luca also squealed happily and handed him something.

“New video game for you.” Alex’s eyes went wide in shock and he lunged at him.

“Thank you uncle. You are the best.” He becomes him to bent down then Alex kissed him on the cheek.

Alex went to his room with the video game and Luca came to me. “Why did you buy a video game for him? It must be expensive.” Luca narrowed his eyes at me.

“So? I love him so I bought a gift for him. What's the big deal? Don't overreact. I'm starving. Let me have my food.” Saying that he sat on his chair. Alex also came back and sat beside Luca and I sat across from them.

They kept talking all the time while having food and I kept admiring their bond. They became so close in such a short time. After dinner I was about to collect the dishes when Luca stopped me. “I will do the dishes. I can't have food for free. We are family now. Let me give you a helping hand.” My jaw fell at the word family. When did we become family?

I was so stunned to react when Luca collected all the dirty dishes and went to the kitchen to wash them. When I overcame my shock I ran inside the Kitchen to stop him. But he didn't let me.

“You shouldn't be doing this.” He turned to glare at me.

“Don't worry, I won't break them. I'm used to doing such things at home. I can't be a freeloader. I have to do something in return for the food you gave me to eat. Moreover, if I had to cook in my house then I had to do the dishes too. So what's the big deal if I wash the dishes here?” I shook my head.

“Fine. Do whatever you want.” Saying that I left the kitchen as I didn't have the energy to argue with him. I had a tiring day. And he must be tired too.

I was craving for coffee so I went back to the kitchen only to gasp loudly looking at the sight before me. Luca was standing before me half naked. My hands flew to cover my mouth and my eyes were wide in shock.

Luca turned around to see me. “Oh! My shirt got wet while I was washing the dishes. Water sprayed on me from the tap and you can see.” He was talking to me but my eyes were fixed on his muscular body that was shining under the light.

I couldn't take my eyes off his perfectly defined body. “Take a picture, it will last long. Then you can watch it the whole day.” I immediately looked away in embarrassment.

To avoid the situation I decided to leave the kitchen so I turned around to leave but before I could take a step ahead I felt a tight grip around my wrist and he pulled me swiftly making me fall on him. My right hand landed on the left side of his chest while my left hand was resting on his shoulder. I felt his toned muscles under my skin and oh Goddess! It seems so real.

“You have a sexy body.” A murmur left my mouth and I heard a chuckle which caught my attention and I realised what have I done. His sexy body again distracted me. I palmed my face, not able to face him anymore. But I felt him holding my hands and he placed them back on his chest.

He wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me closer to him that my body was pressing against his front. He held my chin and looked right into my eyes.

“You can touch it as much as you want. But for that you have to become my girlfriend.” Is he serious? Or is he joking?

“Mamma.” Before I could say something I heard Alex’s calling so Luca let go of me. I tucked my hair strands behind my ear nervously and licked my lips.

“Mamma. Can I have chocolate?” Alex came into the kitchen and asked holding the chocolate bar.

“No chocolate at night. Your teeth will be damaged. Go brush your teeth and go to bed early. I'm coming with your milk.” His face fell and he strode back to his room.

The tension in the air was so much which made me feel suffocated. “I was just pulling your leg. Sorry.” I turned to glare at him then threw his shirt on his face.

“Don't joke with me like this ever. I don't like it. Now go back to your house.” Saying that I started walking but he didn't leave instead started following me..

“I said sorry. I didn't know you would react like this. Please forgive me.” He stood in front of me blocking my way while holding his ear. He was looking so adorable doing that so I forgive him. I didn't know why I was even mad at him. Because he wasn't seriously asking me to date him or I was mad at him for joking with me about such sensitive matters.

“I accept your apology. Go back home and rest. You must be tired.” A bright smile broke into his lips.

“Thank you. And good night.” Waving his hand he walked towards the main door and left. I locked the door and switched off the lights to go back to Alex’s room to check on him. When I went there he was already sleeping so I didn't disturb him and went to sleep.
