Chapter 42: Chapter 42

JAXON…..

“Jaxon, you can't live your life like this drowning yourself in alcohol. Pull yourself together and take over your position. How long Beta Rhys will handle your work. You are the Alpha.” Dad was yelling at me but I gave a deaf ear.

“You wanted an heir. You got it. You are happy. But I want Lauren. And I can't find her anywhere. How am I supposed to be happy?” I asked him with my deadly gaze and he let out a frustrated groan.

“Lauren. Lauren. Lauren. Did that bitch cast a spell on you? You don't see anything except her. You are forgetting you have a Luna.”

“Whom I don't want. She was chosen by you. I have nothing to do with her. You wanted to make her my Luna. I did it. You wanted me to give you an heir. I gave that to you too. But you snatched from me what I wanted.” I threw the glass and it smashed against the wall behind him while passing him closely. He looked terrified. He looked like his soul left his body for a moment.

“Are you in love with that girl?” He asked me in disbelief while I was pouring myself another glass of drink.

“She's my maddest obsession. I want her in my life at any cost. Bring her to me and I will do whatever you want me to do. I will become your pet again. But until you can't find her don't expect me to obey any of your orders.” I told him straightforwardly.

“You have lost your mind. I don't want to talk to you.” saying that he left the room slamming the door behind him.

I didn't realise my feelings for Lauren at that time but when she was away from me I understood that I wanted her in my life. Dad told me she was not safe here so he shifted her to a safer place. I didn't know she would leave after giving birth to the baby. She just didn't leave. She just vanished into the thin air. I have looked for her everywhere but I couldn't find her.

Everyone knew it was Brianna who gave birth to the baby. Brianna was in her parents house all the while only to come back with the new born baby. I thought she would love the child but no. She was always busy with herself and the baby will be with the nanny. I felt bad for the baby. If it was Lauren then she wouldn't do this to the baby. But she did leave the baby.

“She did what she was supposed to do as per the contract she had signed. She didn't bring any personal feelings in the contract. She was professional but you messed up the contract.” My wolf volleyed and I groaned.

“Don't you want her? Am I the only one who wants her back? Huh!” I scoffed at him and he went silent.

I went back to our room and heard the crying sound of Jackson. The Nanny was trying her best to stop him from crying but he kept crying continuously so I went to her.

“Give Jackson to me. You go and have some rest.” The Nanny gave me an unbelievable look but nodded her head and handed Jackson to me. I took him in my arms and held him close to my body then rocked him in my arms.

“Tell Luna Brianna that I'm asking for her.”

“Okay, Alpha.” Saying that she left the room. I have kept Jackson in my room. Brianna always lived in the room that was adjusted with my room. So that no one realised we don't live together. After bringing the baby to the packhouse she had changed a lot. She doesn't show any affection for the baby.

“Are you missing your Mom?” I asked Jackson who had stopped crying now and was staring at me with his dark chocolate brown eyes. He had taken after his Mother’s eye color. Fortunately Brianna’s eyes were also brown. That's why no one had suspected his eye color.

“I'm also missing your Mother. Don't worry, I will bring your Mom to you. Then we will live happily together.” I said and wiped his tears. Suddenly the door opened and I saw Brianna walking in.

“Where were you? Jackson was crying and you were nowhere to be seen. He's our son, you have to take responsibility for the Mother. You can't just be busy with yourself only. If you forgot then I will remind you, you are the mother of this child.” My voice was deadly but she stood before me unaffected.

“Mother!” She laughed bitterly looking at the child then looked up at me.

“He's not my child, Jaxton. He's your child. Every time I look at him, he reminds me of that bitch whom you love crazily. My hatred for her increases when I look at him. It reminded me how pathetic my life is. Whom I loved with all my heart love the Surrogate mother of my child. What did I get in return for loving you, Jaxton?”

“Betrayal?”

Her eyes were glistening with unshed tears and I felt bad for her. Her every word was true. I admit that I treated her badly. She deserves someone who will cherish her and love her. What I can never give her. She's stuck with me. She's with me just because of the Luna title.

“I have made a big decision in my life today.” She looked at me and tears rolled down from her eyes. “I can't live like this anymore. I'm fed up. Let's divorce.”

“Are you sure?” I asked her for confirmation and she nodded bravely.

“You made the right decision, Brianna. I never treated you the way you deserved. I know I don't deserve your forgiveness. But I wish you happiness. I hope you find someone better who will love you the way you deserve.” I walked near her and placed a peck on her forehead. We have been friends since childhood. She has loved me since then but I never reciprocate her feelings. I felt guilty for running her life. I hope she finds someone better.

“I will arrange the papers. Tell me what you want. I will give you the alimony.” She stared at me with her bloodshot eyes.

“I want to be free from this meaningless marriage. It will be the best gift for me.” Saying that she walked out of the room.
