LAUREN…….

"You are back." A voice came from the darkness when I stepped inside my room. All lights were off. The only source of light was moonlight coming through the big window. And I noticed Jaxon sitting on the sofa.

"How was your date? I thought you would spend the rest of the night with him. But you came back so early. Was he not good at bed? Do you want me to satisfy you?" I remained silent hearing every gutter that was coming out of his dirty mouth. I just wanted to see how low he could stoop.

I took some steps ahead of him and stood a distance away from him.

"Are you mad that I'm dating Rhys?" I asked him with a vicious smile and I watched him smile still looking ahead.

He snapped his head at me. I noticed his eyes glowing in the dark. Like he was peeking at his prey. In no time he was standing in front of me and pulled me near him by my waist. His right hand reached to my left cheek and he cupped it.

"So you are leaving me again?" There was a pain in his voice and I noticed his eyes twinkling with tears. I was shocked to see him like that. I didn't expect something like that. I expected him to get mad at me. But getting emotional? It was something big.

Then it hit me. It was not him. But Simon. So I touched his face and leaned more into him pressing my forehead on his.

"I'm sorry, I have to move on. It's better for both of us. We are not meant to be together. Our fate is different. It's better for us to stay away from each other." I whispered sadly. And I felt tears dripping down from my eyes making him wet as well.

And suddenly he pulled away with a jerk and I felt a firm grip on my hair. And it wasn't hard for me to understand what was happening. Jaxon was back. He was in control.

"You want to leave me? How can you think I will let you go away from me? You want to escape from me. You want to get free from me? Huhh! In your dream Miss Lauren Monroe. This dream of yours will never come true. You can't escape from me. No one can take you away from me, not even my Beta Rhys. Your life belongs to me. Every part of you belongs to me. You are mine. Then what made you think that you can leave me?"

He yelled at me and I looked at him in disbelief. Why did he say that? That means he remembered our relationship. He didn't forget anything.

What the hell!

“Why are you not saying anything?” He reached me with two long strides and asked me, jerking me by my shoulder. And I lost it.

"You tell me what made you think that I will choose you over him? You have a loving wife and will soon have your baby. Do I have a place in that happy family? Even if you tried to fit me into that family I will always be an extra. I don't want to live my life as a mistress. I deserve better. And Rhys is the best choice for me. He is way better than you. He loves me and he will pamper me and cherish me for his whole life. What does a girl want in her life more than this? A girl wanted someone beside her. A girl wanted to be loved. And a girl wanted to lead a happy life with someone who cared for her." I yelled at him pouring my heart out in front of him and jerked his hand off me.

He clutched my jaw in his firm hand and I felt like he might break my jaw today. I wriggled to get free from his grip but he didn't let go of me.

"You are saying he's good in every way. He is the best life partner for you. But what about love? Do you love him as much as you love me?" His eyes were blazing with fire and he looked out of control.

Suddenly I felt his grip getting loosen around my jaw and the storm in his eyes calmed down.

"I don't care what you think about me. But, finally, you are not going anywhere?" saying that he turned around showing me his back.

"Who will stop me? You?" I scoffed at him and watched him clutching his fist tightly.

"I know, he's a better person than me. Still, he has no right to take you away from me." He roared loudly, turning around to face me. And my eyes grew wide with what I witnessed before me.

Jaxon was standing in his Beast form. He looked so dangerous that it shook me to my core. He wasn’t this furious that day as he was now.

"Simon, calm down." I tried to touch him to calm him down.

"I will not go anywhere. I will be by your side. But please calm down.” I lied to him to calm him down.

"You can't leave me. I won't let you go. You know I need you." He said looking into my eyes and I nodded at him. Then he engulfed me into a hug and held me tightly against his hard chest. Jaxon was back by then.

"I know how to keep my things with me. I will make everything right. You will stay with me as my second wife. I can't make you Luna. But you will be my favorite wife. I will give you your every right and honor."

I knew nothing was possible. I didn't take his words seriously as I didn't want to get hurt later. I know I can't have him. And it's the truth. The faster I can get it the better it will be.
