Chapter 32: Chapter 32

Lauren went back to her room after spending time with Rhys. She was about to go to bed when suddenly she heard a loud knock on her door.

"Lauren, open the door immediately." She heard Mr. Knight's panicked voice from the other side so she scooted to the door and opened for him.

"What happened?" She asked him but he didn't say anything and just grabbed her hand and pulled her with him.

"Come with me. Jaxon's beast went out of control." Lauren's eyes went wide and her heart thudded with fear.

"But why are you taking me to him? He will hurt me and the baby can be hurt too." Lauren tried to make him understand her point of view but Mr. Knight shook his head.

"No, he won't do anything to you. Only you can tame his beast." Lauren became stunned hearing that.

Soon they reached Jaxon's room where he was chained with silver chains. He was hissing in pain and trying to break free by pulling the chains and Brianna was crying in a corner. Her face was bruised. And there were bruises and cuts on her body. Her clothes were torn too. She was in a bad state and was sobbing badly in fear. For a moment Lauren felt bad for her but in her mind, she felt happy that no one had the ability to tame his beast except her.

Lauren advanced towards Jaxon cautiously. Her eyes were fixed on him so that if by any chance his beast attacked her, she could save herself from getting hurt. As she was carrying a baby in her womb too.

"Be careful, Ren," Rhys said in a concerned tone. Mr. Knight looked at Rhys for some moment with a frown and he noticed him being protective towards Lauren. Somewhere he understood that something was going on between Rhys and Lauren. It wasn't the right time to think about anything else except Jaxon so he turned his attention to Jaxon.

Lauren called out for Jaxon's beast. "Simon!"

"Calm down Simon." Simon turned his gaze towards Lauren and his eyes became warm.

With a loudly beating heart, Lauren went near him and touched his shoulder. "Please calm down." She said with a tender voice and reached out her hand to touch his face.

"It's hurting, right? Let me unshackle them for you." Simon nodded and Lauren looked at Mr. Night for the key.

"Are you sure he won't attack?" Mr. Knight asked her, unsure of his son's beast nature.

"Don't worry, he's under control now. It would be better if you all left the room." Seeing Mr. Knight's suspicious look, Lauren assured him.

"Don't worry, I will not cross any limit. I remember my promise to you. I will leave his room when he falls asleep." Mr. Knight nodded at her and handed her the keys to the chain lock.

They all left except Rhys. He helped her to unlock the shackles and put them aside. "Beta Rhys, go back to your room. I want to be with Lauren alone." Simon ordered Rhys who looked at Lauren then nodded his head.

"Yes, Alpha. Call me if you need something." Saying that Rhys left the room not before glancing at Lauren for the last time.

"What's going on between you too!" Simon

asked her with knitted brows.

"Nothing, he's just concerned for me." Lauren didn't want to say anything to him right now. What if he loses his control again?

"Do you take me as a fool? You both had sex a while ago, am I right?" Lauren was stunned. She was applying ointment on his hands and legs where the chains were tied. It was burned.

She just looked away to avoid him. But he clutched her jaw in his hard palm and made her look into his eyes. "How can you do that to me, Lauren? How can you choose him over me? How can you let another man touch you except me?" His voice was dangerous which shook her to the core.

She opened her mouth to say something but in fear, no sound came out of her mouth just her mouth moved.

"You are not allowed to go close to any other male. If you don't want that person dead then stay away from him." Saying that he let go of her face with a jerk.

Lauren's blood boiled in rage. And she looked at him with her blazing eyes. But before she could say anything to him he pulled her into a hug and held her tightly against his chest. "I'm sorry, Lauren. I didn't want to yell at you or hurt you. I was just jealous. Please forgive me. I know you can't be with me. And you want to be with Rhys now. So I won't stop you from being with him. Just let me sleep holding you in my arms. Just for today. I will not bother you anymore."

Lauren was stunned she could not think of what to say so she didn't say anything and lay with him under the duvet. He held her close to her.

"I don't know why. Why do I feel this way towards you? I don't know why I feel so attracted to you. I know you don't love me. But I can't help it. I can't stay away from you. I want to let you freely live your life and make decisions for your life. I don't want to control your life. But I can't control myself around you."

Jaxon whispered into her ear. "Just sleep, Jax." She wrapped her arms around his torso and snuggled into his chest.

"What kind of girl is she? Is she a siren? How can she just wrap some guy around her finger so easily? Every guy in my pack is crazy about her. Does she know hypnotism? I didn't know this girl would become the pain in my ass later when I approached her for Jaxon. I'm regretting choosing her as Jaxon's surrogate."

"Besides, I had no choice except this. Because only she can bear Jaxon's pups. She has a powerful bloodline in her. Any normal she wolf can't bear his pup let alone taming his wolf. At first, I didn't know she would be able to tame his wolf. But she surprised me. The way Jaxon calmed down when she touched her. It was really unbelievable."

Jaxon's father was going insane thinking about all this. He knew that she could calm his beast but he didn't know she had so much effect on his wolf. If it went like this then it would be difficult to separate them. No matter what sting he pulled this time.

On the other hand, Brianna's situation was also same as Mr. Knight's. She thought now she could make him mark her and become one. But she was wrong. His beast still doesn't like her. Then why did he make out with her, the day before her birthday? She was so confused by his behavior. One moment he behaved so sweetly with her and the other moment he became so violent.

"I underestimated that bitch. She is really something. When nothing can calm Simon then how come she can calm him so easily? I have to investigate her. I don't think she's just a normal human being. She's something. Something beyond. Otherwise, it's not possible for such a mere human to tame a beast like Simon. There must be some secret that she's hiding. I have to find out. I'm just tolerating her for the baby. Just let her deliver the baby then I will wipe off her existence from this world. If I can't have him then I won't let anyone have him." Brianna said evilly with determination.

LAUREN……

I slightly winced, feeling rays of sunshine in my eyes, making my eyelids flicker. My arms shoot to cover my eyes to avoid the annoying sunlight. This was one of those nights when I had a really good sleep. But suddenly I felt pain down in my private parts. And a painful yelp left my mouth. I was not in my period, so why was it aching this much?

I removed my hand from my eyes and opened them to see. And my eyes went wide open in shock. Jaxon was sleeping next to me. My hands reached to my mouth and covered it in utmost shock.

Then everything repeated like a flashback in my mind. After the party how I slept with Rhys then Jaxon's wolf went out of control and I ended up sleeping with him to keep his last request.

I shuffled off the bed and ran away straight to my room before anyone noticed me. I looked at my reflection in the mirror. And notice multiple grazes here and there on my skin. I let out a long sigh and stood under the shower. After washing myself off I patted myself off and changed into a pair of clothes.

"I don't know what is going to happen today. Everything changed within a night. My relationship started with Rhys and ended with Jaxon. The Goddess knows what is waiting for me in the future." Mumbling that I left my room.
