Lauren went to meet James to ask him about Jace. As she hadn't seen him after coming back from her home. That means he hadn't come back yet.

She rapped on the door and she heard a voice from inside. As she went inside opening the door to her surprise it was Jace. She was stunned for a moment. Not knowing what to say. She wasn't prepared for this. Jace also noticed her nervousness so he initiated the conversation.

"What happened, Lauren? Are you not happy to see me? Or should I say you are expecting someone else in my place, I mean James? If you are looking for James then he's not here. You can find him in the arena. He's practicing there." Jace's voice was cold and Lauren didn't like the tone. As she was used to his warm and welcoming tone. But today he was different.

"It's nothing like that. I came to ask about you to James. I wasn't expecting you here. That's why I was stunned. I'm happy to see you back home." Lauren said quickly which brought a smile to his face.

In the blink of an eye, he pinned her against the door, and a gasp left her mouth. "Did you miss me?"

Jace moved dangerously close to her face, placing his hand on the right side of her face and the other one on the left side of her waist on the wall.

Jace was looking at her intensely while Lauren was staring back at him terrified and their heartbeat accelerated because of their proximity. His warm breath caressed her face, sending a chill of desire down her spine. He was taking her breath away with his hot look and intense gaze.

"You will definitely fall into my trap. I know our father has told you to stay away from his sons. That's why you are keeping your distance from us. I don't care about others. But I want you. I badly want you." Jace said determinedly.

Lauren was going back to her room when suddenly someone blocked her way. She wasn't in the mood to have an encounter with Brianna. But Face had other plans for her.

"How can I help you, Mrs. Knight?" Brianna was impressed by the way she just addressed her. She smiled at Lauren.

"It seems you have realized your place here. I'm impressed. Just stick to this and get away from our lives giving birth to this child. Just six months then you will be out of our lives." Lauren wanted to smack her head but prevented herself from doing that. She just flashed a wide smile at her.

"I will stay away from your lives. But can you become Simon's mate? Will he ever mark you? You are just a so-called Luna whose mate hasn't even marked her yet. What a pity!" Lauren mocked her and Brianna sneered at her.

"Simon will surely mark me on my birthday yesterday. You just wait and watch. I would love to see your face when I show you Jaxon's wolf's mark on my neck." Brianna challenged her, pointing her finger at Lauren.

"We will see," Lauren said, holding sarcasm in her voice. Then both walked away in their way.

Lauren was sitting in her room drowning in the pit of sorrow. Her heart felt hollow. It had been almost three days since she hadn't seen Jaxon. He was busy with office work. Besides, he doesn't remember her at all. Rhys was also in office. She fell asleep being bored.

It was right thirty-five when Jaxon came back from office along with Rhys. She was sitting in the living room to catch a single glimpse of him. Her face lit up seeing him walking gracefully inside the house. He was still looking breathtakingly handsome after the hectic day. To her dismay, he didn't even give a glance at her, just walked straight to the staircase. Rhys noticed her looking at his retreating figure. So he approached her.

"What are you doing here, Ren?" Rhys' sudden voice startled her and she looked at him with wide eyes.

"I was waiting for you." She said quickly, removing her shocked expression. Rhys knew she was lying but he didn't say anything just played along.

"Have you had your dinner?" Rhys asked her and she nodded her head.

"No. You should go to your room and freshen up. We will have dinner together." She flashed him her best fake smile and Rhys nodded his head.

"Wait for me. I will be right back." Saying that he ran to his room. Lauren felt bad for lying to him. He was sincere with her but she was faking everything.

"You have caught another big fish this time." Lauren was startled by the sudden voice in her ear when Brianna whispered in her ear from behind.

Lauren whipped around and stared at her in disbelief. "What big fish are you talking about?" Lauren squinted her eyes at her and Brianna laughed.

"At first your eyes were on Jaxon then on Jace and James. When they became off-limits for you now you are trying to trap our Beta. Well done." She was holding a malicious smile on her face. And Lauren's blood boiled in anger. She clenched her jaw and stared at Brianna with blazing eyes.

"I never flirted with Jace and James. And about Jaxon. My feelings were real for him. And I don't feel afraid to admit that I still love Jaxon. And I will always love him. You can force me to stay away from him by blackmailing me. But no one can stop me from loving him." Lauren said with confidence giving a tight slap on her face with her words. Her words were enough to shut Brianna's mouth. Lauren walked off from there but Brianna kept standing there seething in outrage.

"It was my biggest foolishness to take you lightly. You are not any vulnerable pathetic girl but a headstrong girl. You are hanging like a sword on my head. I have to hurry up with my plans before she ruins all of them. She's a very wicked person. She can do anything to get him. I can't let that happen. I will make him mine tomorrow night for sure." Saying that with determination Brianna made her way towards Jaxon's room.

While passing by the study room of Old Mr.Knight she heard Jaxon's voice coming from inside. A naughty smile made its way to her lips when suddenly a dirty idea came into her mind. She advanced towards Jaxon's room with long strides.

After a while, Jaxon entered his room and walked to his study table to look for a file. Suddenly he heard a sound coming from behind. So he turned back and froze.
