Chapter 60: Chapter 60

TAKEN Epilogue

Five years later

Marcus stared numbly at the name encrypted on the grave plate, he didn't bring flowers today as he used to. In fact, it's been a long time he was here. He could see the previous ones had withered and so was his feelings. Instead he was there with a three year old girl and a woman in her early thirties beside him. And like he had informed them, he was just going to say his last bye to that woman he once married.

He sighed and turned to the other graveyard right beside it.

The only regrets he had was not saving Jenifer on time that day. He had seen the message, but he was didn't really think Stella was dangerous to that extent. It was a shame to see three bodies that day and it was the worse moment of his life.

Everything came back to him like it was yesterday. How he saw Stella lay lifelessly on the ground that day and Jenifer all burnt up. When he found out about Stella still being pregnant ad losing the baby when she died. How he felt hurt that at the very end when things were blossoming, Stella messed up.

Rose openly confessed to the police all that happened and he was also disappointed at Jenifer for lying against herself and getting into trouble. He found everything very unnecessary. And at if Jenifer was really pregnant for him. Couldn't Stella just handle the matter in a very different way. Why do they have to involve violence.

He watched Stella die right in front of him and he wouldn't stop hurting for years. Although he was angry then and she apologized to him, b

they were on good terms and he wished a better life for them, but he never wanted her to die.

'She tried killing Jenifer' was the only excuse he could make out of her death. It was survival of the fittest between the ladies and only Rose did, brutally injured too. He strongly believed they all had an hand in each other's death and misery

"Dad can we go?"Macy drags her father's finger. He picks her up from the ground and carries her up as he plays with her. He had a whole lot of things to focus on now and Macy was his main priority.

--------

Sally had prepared a sumptuous dinner for the family and they were all waiting for their guests. Sally luckily met Marcus on a food competition tour she registered for. He happened to be one of the sponsors then and although she did not win the first price but Marcus took a likeness for her food and style of cooking. He had ask them to meet after then and had talked about setting her up with her own kitchen. Their frequent meeting result to their likeness and Marcus decided to propose to her. What was there not to like about Sally, she was beautiful and had great cooking hands, loves children and was very polite. She had great taste of clothes and was also good in bed, she was neither controlling like his previous or addictive like her. Their marriage was close to perfect

Their awaited guests arrived and Macy ran to hug them both. Allen carried her up and did a bubble roll like he always does whenever he was there and she giggled. Flora smiled sweetly as she gives Sally a warm hug and goes to greet Marcus too.

"Feels good to be here every year" Allen said as they all walked to the dining and each took turns sitting on their space. "Miss you brother" Allen gives his brother a friendly fist when he sits. He returned it and they both laugh.

Sally started dishing their foods into the plate and Flora assisted her. "Why isn't Finn here?"Marcus scolded Allen and he laughed.

"Finn? Seriously brother? We wouldn't be able to leave today if Finn was here. We dropped him over at Mum's place because of the long journey down here" They all smiled as Allen explained where they dropped his son. Macy frown at her uncle and pointed the fork she was using to eat at him.

"Mum?" she called Salle, her mouth full of food everyone diverting their attention to re instead, she chewed very well till she was done before continuing. "When will I get married to Finn?"she asked

They all burst out laughing at er words and she stared at them wondering why it was really funny.

"Baby, you can't get married to Finn because he's your cousin" Salle rubs her daughter's hair and corrected her giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"It doesn't matter mum" Macy groans and frown "Dad. what do you think?" she asks her Dad. She was fond of getting what she wanted and however she wanted it from her dad. So she threw the question to him instead.

"When you grow older, you both would decide on that okay?" Marcus said to her with a beaming smile. She returned the smile too, nodding continuously, happy her father supported her. Little did she know.

Everyone dig their spoons and forks into the food as they enjoy the taste of a top notch chef. Salle had made wonderful foods for them through out the frequent years they come here for a family hang out. She hadn't for once disappointed them and that was why they still met each year.

After that tragedy the previous years , the one Allen and Flora got away with, they had never stopped coming to check up on Marcus and see how he has been fairing. Marcus never found out about Allen, so he owes him that little piece of kindness. He wouldn't let any more secrets it and the former one come in between his brother and him. He wanted to make his father and mother proud of them both and for the past few years, he think he did.

Flora had not stopped being the good girlfriend and now a wife to him, someone who could do that much for him then, he was definitely going to keep her and he did. Their son Finn was a blessing to their marriage and he was happy his mum Bella could witness his birth. Same with Macy.

The Stella tragedy was a situation never to be talked about within any pair. It was only left for each individual to think about it or however they were involved.

To Marcus, Stella was a grasping wife - not satisfied with him and at the same time wants too much from him.

To Allen, Stella was poison - slowly moving to his system and breaks him when time was right.

These brothers could not imagine how things would be if Stella was alive and who else she would have destroyed, but that accident with Jenifer and Rose proved how dangerous she was and they were lucky she was taken by death.
