Chapter 9: Chapter 9
“She’s going to stay with us for six months, Noah. So, she’s our new guest.” Nina popped up from the kitchen. So, he is Noah. Nina’s son.
“Don’t tell me she’s here to learn from Pamela.” Noah sympathetically looked at me. Who is Pamela?
“Yes, sadly,” Nina replied.
“Oh my. This girl doesn’t deserve to learn from Pamela.” I think she is the witch who is assigned to teach me. I don't want to meet her. Everyone’s talking about her like she’s the worst person in Slateville.
“My sister isn’t that horrible. She’s little bit harsh, that’s it,” Nina says to assure me.
“Welcome home. I’m Noah. I will show you your room.” he ran his hand over his brown hair, kept his laptop, and motioned me to follow him.
“I’m Sydney.” I introduced myself. We entered a clean room in a blue paint wall. ‘My favourite’. The room has a single bed and empty shelves and a cupboard. I can fill all my things in this room.
“I like this room.” I admired it by turning around.
“So, who are you, Sydney. Vampire or werewolf? I can’t guess it.” He scratched his head in confusion. Instead of speaking, I showed it by raising my hands, concentrating my power on turning the lights in the room. Some blue sparks left my hand when I turned on the lights.
“Ha, I got it, a witch. How could I forget that when Pamela's going to teach you?” he half-laughed. His laugh reminded me of Jacen. His smile is like Jacen. I think I should stop thinking about Jacen.
“Penny for your thoughts?” he asked when I was lost in thoughts. I was staring at my luggage right now.
“I miss my play station. That’s it. You can go to your room.” I smiled by talking about something other than Jacen.
“You have a play station.” His face brightened.
“Yes, I do. I love many games created by humans.” I proudly said.
“You are the girl I’m searching for. I have many games. All I need is a competitive player. Come with me now.” He grabbed my arm and rushed to a room. Hearing the word ‘Games’ I got so excited so much. I know I behave so childishly. No one believes me I’m a witch. His room is fully in dark colours. Creepy portraits, many small blood bags, luxurious red bed, and a flat TV with play station.
The moment I entered the room. Noah showed me many CD players and choose a car race. We both started playing within minutes. I never thought a second coming to Nina’s house will be more interesting. Noah is my character and friendly, non-stop talking guy. He kept on talking while in the middle of the game. His mouth never stops, neither his hands which are continuously pressing the buttons.
“I feel like a human. Why am I addicted to games while I can learn to be a great witch?” I complained while my blue car was about to reach its destination.
“There’s no need to worry about that. Once we joined any academies, we won’t even think about this. The academy will be much interesting, competing, complicated, interesting, fascinating, amazing, challenging, and whatnot. That’s all I heard.” He finished his long dialogue. I just nodded because I won’t be going to any Academy. He may not have known it, but I’m not interested in talking about that for the millionth times. What’s done is done. Over.
“Yeah. I won. I told you so, I’m so good at this.” I victoriously announced after playing for two hours. I can’t believe it’s been two hours. I didn’t even think about lunch.
“How can you win? I always win. Not fair.” He madly looked at me.
“It’s fair.” I folded my arms against my chest.
“No.” he took a pillow and hit me with it. It won’t hurt at all. We just played this pillow fight until he locked me with both hands on either side of my hips.
“I will forgive you for winning only if...” He trailed off, while the door to the room wide opened revealing another boy. Oh god, that’s Jacen. What’s he doing here? Did he find the address? I don’t understand anything.
“How many times have I told you not to enter my room without permission, Noah?” Jacen shouted at him and got shocked when he noticed me.
“Hey, Jacen. What are you doing here?” I asked in confusion. Did he mention this is his room? ‘What’s happening here? Somebody explain it, please.’
“I should ask you that, Sydney. You said you are going to some witch house?”
“This is the house I have been sent to...” I trailed off. Jacen’s eyes moved from me to Noah, who is still holding me while pillow fighting.
“Okay. First of all, move away from her, Noah.” he glared at him, blocking his view on me.
“We were just playing games, and I just caught up in the moment thinking about Witch blood,” Noah replied, moving away from both of us.
“You already know she’s, our guest. Then treat like that. Don’t you dare think of her blood? She doesn’t belong to you.” He shouted over a simple talk. I really don’t know there’s such a big deal in Witch blood for vampires. That means I should stay away from vampires. I can’t do that. Especially not Jacen.
“I knew it only when she arrived here, and does she belong to you?” Noah yelled back.
“That’s none of your business.” Jacen snapped.
“Whatever, I’m going out. Who wants to stay in your room? I’m just here for the TV.” he walked out of the room frustrated. Jacen turned towards me once he’s out. Jacen’s been in my room now, I’m in his room. Wait for a second, what’s that mean? Is this his house?
“Hm... What’s going on here?” I muttered.
"I’m Noah’s Brother "
