Chapter 49: Chapter 49

“Sapphire, I never thought you were alive. You may not live your life the way you wanted. But hereafter, I will do anything to protect you,” Victoria walked towards me and hugged me with tears in her eyes. I finally realized Iam in my home. All these three months I have been in this place where I was meant to be. This Academy is my home. This is where I have lived till I turned six in my childhood. Now all my memories are back. Iam remembering everything that happened when Iam here.

“Mom,” I said that word for the first time. All I thought was she was Queen Victoria, but she was my mom. The truth was hidden. A line was inserted into my mind. If I remembered the past, then if it wasn’t for Jacen, I would have been in my house for my whole life. At one point, he’s, my saviour.

“Sapphire? Do you remember me? I never know it was you. I didn’t even talk with you when you came here,” Peter approached us, controlling his tears. He didn’t cry, but I can see the emotions in his eyes.

“How can I forget you, dad?” I said, and he threw his arms around both of us. For a moment, my mom, dad, and I are the only person in the Slateville.

“Stop this drama. This is not how it’s supposed to be. You are supposed to die many years ago,” I heard Dorothy’s voice, who got irritated by our happy moment.

“She is not supposed to die. You are the evil ones who deserve to be in hell,” Victoria snapped.

“I have been in hell and that’s enough. All I need to blame is Lydia,” Dorothy turned towards my aunt. I think I still can’t stop myself from calling her aunt. She was a stranger to me. But she saved me instead of killing me. No one would have done that. She saves me. I can’t be angry with her. I need to forgive her. If I can’t now, I will do it soon.

“The blame isn’t on me. Sapphire is alive and...” Lydia stopped when Cassie interrupted madly.

“I know she is alive. That’s why I want to kill her all these months. But I failed. We both failed in it.” We all blankly stared at her. She tried to kill me because she knows Iam the princess. How did she know that? Now only Lydia confessed the truth.

“You know that all this time. How?” I commanded the answers, but she refused to say further about it.

“Open your fucking mouth. I want the answers now,” I shouted again, lifting my hands. Now I know all she got is the glamour. Glamour to show others that she got the royal power. But Iam not like her. I have true royal blood. She can’t win against me.

“You opened your fucking mouth and said about my mom’s black magic. That’s how I got a doubt,” she started. I remember that. I accidentally told her what I learned about her mother’s power in Magic spell class.

“I sneaked into your room and found Victoria’s diary. I showed it to my mom and found out that you are still alive. I tore some of the pages from her diary so you won’t read it all and there will be no choice for you to remember about your true life. I thought I could kill you in the games before someone knows you are the princess,” Cassie explained, like she did nothing wrong.

“Which is never going to happen again. My daughter is the princess, and she’s going to have her coronation in a few days. Iam going to expose the truth about both of you,” Peter said as angry flashed in his eyes.

“You will not do that. Without royal power, I still belongs to this family,” Dorothy argued.

“You are dead. You came back with darkness, not the royal power. Iam not going to tell you to leave this Academy and from this family,” Victoria said and I waited for her to finish the sentence.

“You will be executed for this. You are going to end up dead. This time there will be no coming back. You are gone forever,” Victoria added.

“You are...are not going to execute my mom... “Cassie said in her panic voice.

“Your mom deserved that,” Lydia told, and she looked at me. She’s waiting for my forgiveness, which Iam not ready to give it. But I know I need to forgive her. I can’t able to live my life without her. She took care of me even though Iam not her family. Even though Iam not going to return anything she did to protect me.

“I don’t know what my mom is going to deserve because we are going to leave this academy. Temporarily. But you are going to die permanently,” Cassie told Lydia. Before my mind can process what, she told me, Lydia screamed. She screamed in pain as a dagger cut her right through her stomach. Lydia fell to the ground, instantly clutching her stomach where the dagger inserted into her body. Blood started flowing on the ground.

Who can do something like that? Dorothy and Cassie are standing away from Lydia. Who did this?

“Long time, no see. I said I will have my revenge back. Don’t you remember? “someone said behind Lydia. The person who stabbed her.

Pamela.

“How can you...” I sobbed helplessly.

“Stay awake, Lydia. I will save you. I will save you. Someone help me, “I screamed as I saw Lydia’s pale face.

“Why did you do this to me? “Lydia asked Pamela. She is her friend. Another betrayal from a friend.

“I did this because she asked me, “Pamela smirked and looked at Dorothy.

“You are working for her? “ Victoria asked.

“Yes, she is. She is such a dedicated person who did her work perfectly. I will soon give the reward,” Dorothy said those words like a heartless person. I won’t consider as a human. She’s a heartless soul.

“Please, we need to save her. Help me, “I looked at Victoria while holding on Lydia’s arms who is close to her unconscious.

“The dagger is poisoned, and you can’t save her. It’s done, “Pamela said. At last, she vanished into the thin air, leaving a black smoke around us.
