Chapter 43: Chapter 43

“You are going to help me? I can’t ask the students to steal something from someone. How can I do that?” Victoria raised her voice.

“I know, but I want to help you. You are helping me and all I can do is return the favour. I know Iam just a girl who is studying here who shouldn’t interfere in your issues. But I really feel sorry for your loss and I wish you could try to find the reason without giving up. I think it’s worth it,” I said and looked at her expressionless face. I can’t guess what she’s thinking about me or my suggestions.

“No one ever said like this. It may be worth knowing it. I deserve to know the reason,” she lost in her thoughts thinking about it. I guess she considered my suggestions.

“Just give one more chance. I will help you. Don’t see me as a student at this time. Think of me as returning a favour. I promise I won’t get in any problem.” I firmly said and I will show her Iam trustworthy. If some instinct tells me to do something, I shouldn’t doubt it. Now I want to help her. Iam not taking ‘no’ as an answer.

“Fine. I will tell you what you need to do to get the memory of my sister and I will call Kassidy, who will help you summon your parents. Meet me here tomorrow night,” she confirmed it. Finally, the day has arrived to know about me and also help the Queen.

When I reached my room after an eternal day, Jacen was waiting for me, leaning on my room door.

“Hey, what happened there?” I asked, thinking about Bianca.

“Nothing goes well. They both are not going to get punished for killing Leona. They just simply escaped,” Jacen said, looking exhausted.

“What? That’s not fair. A girl dies because of them. They deserve much more than punishment.”

“Do you think I don’t know that? I had an argument with them for hours, but Cassie is telling me to prove it. How can I prove it? What’s important than Leona’s words? No one has proof.”

I expected something good, but all I got is this worst news. That two bitches can’t simply escape.

“Why do we need to show fucking proof? It’s clear that they did this. Cassie nearly killed me. She will do anything to win.” I shouted in frustration as I opened the door to my room.

“She’s a princess and no one will do anything against her. That’s her only advantage,”

“Okay. I don’t want to talk about this anymore. Iam so tired. I need to sleep,” I said, leaning my body on the door.

“Fine. See you tomorrow, baby.” Jacen kissed my cheek and went straight to his room. Tomorrow is going to be a long and life-changing day.

.....

“Hey, you are Sydney, right? You are the one who called my portraits ‘stupid’” Kassidy said once I entered the Queen’s room. She’s not angry or stressed today, but I wish she didn’t remember me or how I annoyed her.

“Yes. I think I said sorry,” I told and looked at the floor. There are more than six candles in a circle.

“I was just kidding. So, at first, I need to tell you I can’t summon your parent’s soul,” she said, motioning me to sit inside the circle surrounded by candles.

“What? Why?” that’s how I responded. I know I can’t do that spell, but why can’t she do it.

“Kassidy tried to do it, Sydney. But something is blocking her spell. She needs to figure it out. That’s why she’s going to have a look at your memories.” Victoria said, closing all the doors shutting all the lights. The Candle lights are only burning. I carefully made my way inside it.

“But why do you need to see my memories?” I asked once I was seated on the floor, which Kassidy sat opposite to me with a book.

“I heard your story, Sydney. You don’t even remember your parents or your childhood memories at all. That’s impossible. You should at least have a single memory, which you don’t,” Kassidy told, and lifted both of her hands up to my head.

“I don’t...”

“Stop talking,” Victoria scolded me, and I blankly stared at the surrounding darkness. There’s silence around everywhere. A small white bright light came from Kassidy’s palm. The next moment, she kept her hands on either side of my head and everywhere around me turned black. I can’t see Kassidy or Victoria. All I see is the darkness, which gives me sorrow. I can feel her hands on my head but I can’t see anything. It’s like I lost my eyesight.

Suddenly, I felt some pain all over my body. I want to scream but I can’t do that. I can’t move. My whole body is paralyzed. Some memories flashed through my mind. Iam seeing myself with my friends at this Academy. The memories all moved backwards from here to Jacen and Noah’s house, where I stayed for which. Then it goes back to my house where I lived with Lydia. I don’t know whether Kassidy can see it all. I don’t want to share my memories with anyone, but what is happening is out of my control. The memories stopped at childhood age and the pain increased. I feel like Iam burning in fire. The heat radiated all over my body.

I feel like Iam burning alive and I found my voice again and shouted: “Stop it”. I opened my eyes and adjusted them to the darkness. All the candles are lying on the floor. The bed and the couch are caught in fire by the candles.

“Oh, my...” I got up and Victoria grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the fire. Kassidy is standing next to it. Some white light blasted out from her palm and my eyes got closed from seeing the bright light. That’s it. When I slightly looked at the room, the fire was extinguished.

“What happened?” I muttered, and Kassidy turned her head towards me and the Queen.

“Someone erased her memories. Whatever she’s having is fake. Everything’s a lie. I can’t bring it back. Only the person who took it can restore it,”
