Chapter 40: Chapter 40

“Is it the crystal stone belongs to this girl?” Kassidy’s face brightened up like she got a perfect idea to save Leona.

“Yess,” Jacen replied, looking at it once again.

“I will bring her back. But she can’t use this crystal anymore. That means, if she dies again, I can’t bring her back. Please remember this,” Kassidy stressed those words as we all nodded.

“Okay, so it will be convenient if you all go out,” Kassidy asked politely, and we didn’t take a second a hesitation. Jacen gave her the crystal, and we all waited standing outside the room.

“Thank you so much, your majesty, and Iam sorry for blaming you. I didn’t know what was I doing when Leona was...I am regretted how I behaving in front of Kassidy,”

“Iam not going to scold or punish you, Sydney. In fact, it’s still our fault. Even if someone had killed her purposefully or without purpose, they were still one of our students. They will be punished after finding them,” The Queen confirmed. Iam relieved a little now.

“So… can I come to your...” I stammered.

“Sure. Nothing’s changed. I will help you,” she said and headed out of the corridor. She trusts Kassidy so much. She doesn’t wait here. Well, we are all here to watch.

Amelia, Jacen, Noah, and I waited for an hour. Iam even doubting whether Kassidy can do it. I don’t know her but Iam not going to underestimate her powers and her portraits. I guess I didn’t sleep for a day. I can no longer keep my eyes open. Before I can lay my head on Jacen’s shoulder to take a little rest, the door opened.

“Is Leona alive?” I asked.

“She is. But you all will not pressure her by asking many questions. I bought her back which I can’t go to more than once. She’s still in shock. Take good care of her,” Kassidy strictly told and walked out.

“Are you not going to stay?”

“No. Iam going to tell the Queen to transfer this girl to any other school,” she shocked me after everything turned out to be good.

“Why? Why can’t she stay?”

“Do you want your friend to be alive or not? It’s better to transfer her than to keep her here. She won’t be studying here next year. Understand?” she furiously talked to me. I guess I deserve it.

“Fine. I am sorry for my behaviour. Thank you for saving her.” I apologized, looking at her mad face. Her face softens after some seconds.

“It’s my job to do this. An apology doesn’t matter. I would have behaved the same if I were you,” she said and walked away. I entered the room and saw everyone is helping her sit up on the couch. She’s looking pale, and no one spoke a single word. Silence prevails in the room.

I shared a look at everyone. They all seem to be more silent. Everyone expected someone to speak. I can’t take this silence anymore.

“How are you feeling, Leona?” I took a seat next to her and kept my hand on her shoulder daringly. I don’t care about the dry bloodstains on her dress and body.

Then she gave me a blank stare, like she doesn’t even know me.

“Leona,” I really got afraid that Leona forgot everyone.

“I don’t... I don’t know how Iam feeling,” she said close to tears. What should I say next?

“Where am I?” she looked everywhere in a panic.

“You are safe. You are inside the Academy,” I said, hoping she would calm down. But she got mad.

“Iam safe. Do you think Iam safe, Sydney? I just freaking died. I know Iam dead. You all are really here. Stop playing tricks in my mind,” she shouted madly. She headed towards the door with her hands in both of her ears.

“No, Leona. You are really safe. We are real.” I said as Jacen closed the door.

“Let me out. What are you going to do to me? What already done isn’t enough?” She shouted at Jacen.

“I don’t what happened to you but you can’t go out in this situation, Leona,” Jacen said, locking the door.

“Calm down, Leona. We are your friends,” Amelia remembered her, but she gets madder with each passing second.

“I don’t care about any friends. Let me out now,” she shouted louder from her throat and banged the door with her head. Oh my god, Kassidy told me to take care of her. I smoothly talked to her, but she’s going crazy.

“We can’t let her out in this situation,” Noah shouted as Amelia caught her arms to stop her from doing something.

“Let me go. I will kill you if you didn’t open the door now,” she yelled and screamed. We all tried to stop her madness, but I don’t think we can handle her.

“I think we need to tie her up,” Jacen suggested after struggling to keep her in the same place.

“No, Jacen. We are not going to do that. It will make her much more furious,” I protested as she stepped towards the portraits. Oh no, not the portraits.

“No. Please don’t do anything to it,” I shouted, and she started laughing.

“Oh, I see. What if I shatter it? It will be nice to see it like that.” she said, randomly taking one from the wall.

“No, anyone does something,” I yelled. Jacen and Noah caught both of her arms. But they can’t manage her. She’s a vampire too, and she seems much stronger than before.

“Leona, please look at me. This is not you.” I made eye contact with her as she struggled against the Jacen’s grip. Amelia placed the Portrait back in the same place. Why did Kassidy leave us with her when she’s not in a good condition? I want the Calm Leona back. Her red hair is messed up.

“Iam not me, right? Then who am I? The girl who got stabbed by two fucking girls,”

Did she remember everything? I need to make her calm and know everything that happened.

“No, you are a strong girl. You are dead. This is not a mind trick. We all are real. We are all here for you, Leona,” I kept my hand on her cheek as she breathed fast and looked at me in confusion.

“You are not real. You all want to kill me again. Let me go,” she still behaves the same.

“Jacen, Noah. Let her go,” I ordered as they looked at me like I went crazy.

“Do it now,” I shouted again, and they both loosened their grip on her.

“What are you saying, Sydney?” Amelia yells at me.

“Shut up. She can go,”

“Go wherever you want. You are so alive, and we will not stop you. We will do whatever you want.” I opened up the door.

“You are letting me go?” she asked in confusion.

“Yes. You mean so much to us. Your friends are not going to do anything against your will. We are here for you, not kill you or let others do something.” I make myself clear, but she ran and hugged me.

“You are really real. You are real. I did not die, right?” she touched my face making sure it’s real and cried.

“You are alive and no one’s going to hurt you. Trust me,” I said, giving a small smile in this situation.

“I already got hurt. Bianca and Cassie stabbed me in the games,”
