" What? Why are you two looking as if you just saw a ghost " Habeeb chuckled

A smile spread across Ummu Rasheed's face " you naughty boy "

" You meant what you said? " kalthum asked again surprised.

He smiled " of course kalthum. We all know my mother, she is the best actress of the universe. I'm sure she did something to you before you mistakenly pushed her. Don't be surprised that she knew you were going to push her."

Tears of joy dropped down her face " Thanks alot ya habib. You don't know how happy you just made me "

" Well that's my duty right? As a big brother" he wiggled his brows after adding " I wouldn't want to see my little sister in pain "

She giggled then wiped her tears " Thanks once again."

Habib waved it off with a small smile " Can we all go inside now? I'm very famished. If you're worried about my mother , you better don't stress. She will survive a small fracture. Please let's go inside "

Umm Rasheed let out a chuckle " you love for food hasn't reduced for a bit "

" How can it reduce when the person cooking it keeps on making it delicious everyday" he joked and the two ladies burst into laughter .

" Common boy, let's go inside " Umm Rasheed said and they all walked inside after one another .

They waited patiently for the doctor to come out with a good news. They've been waiting for hours now and it was already get frustrating. Faisal stood up from where he was sat with a loud sigh.

" what's keeping them waiting? " he asked to no one in particular.

" just sit down son " Alhaji Tukur said to him.

At that time, Raihana also walked up to Faisal . He stopped pacing from one side to the other. She stood in front of him.

" Hey faisal" she began " I know I shouldn't be saying this but whatever. Don't you think that Kalthum girl needs some kind of punishment? If you let this slide, she will do something more than this. "

Faisal shot her a glare " please stop, not you too. I'm sick and tired of everyone saying the same thing " he whispered yelled .

Raihana scoffed "Or is there something going on between you two that you don't want us to know "

The murderous look he shot her was enough to make one piss his pant but Raihana wasn't even a bit fazed.

" Do you think I didn't noticed the looks you were sending her way on the dinning table " she continued

" just keep shut already " he told her.

" No I won't not until you understand that whatever you have going on with that girl isn't right. You can't be seriously falling for a maid! "

The parents couldn't hear what they were saying but with the way the two kept glaring at each other, they knew what the two were talking about was heated.

" Are you kids alright? " Alhaji Dantata asked from where he was sat.

Raihana quickly smiled " of course sir we are fine. Right Faisal? "

The latter didn't replied instead he said " please, excuse me " with that he darted outside the building. He rubbed his face out of frustration. He was battling within himself. He can't just drive Kalthum. She meant the world to him.

He groaned loudly. Just calm down Faisal. Think about what umm Rasheed would say in a situation like this. He breath in and out slowly.

He knew Umm Rasheed too well. She will tell him to always listen to his heart. Never he allow his head to make a decision in a situation like this. She will tell him to listen to both sides of the story. Never he allow anyone make a decision for him.

This is exactly what he was going to do. He needs to hear Kalthum side of the story, after that he can finally make his decision.

He walked straight to his car. His phone vibrated in his pocket and at that instant after seeing what the message was about, Faisal Immediately drove home.

Habeeb licked his fingers one more time " I just can't get enough of this food. Nanny can you please tell me what is the secret behind this delicious meal? "

Nanny giggled " Good cooking skills is the only secret I know "

He groaned " then I think it's high time I came so you can teach me how to cook "

" That would be very good for you son. I'm happy you finally realize that and the funniest of all is that ,you would have been an expert too just like Faisal."

Kalthum's raised a brows " so Faisal was telling the truth all along? "

" what truth? " Umm Rasheed asked

" That he can cook. Infact he planned on cooking for me tomorrow but I don't think it'll be possible after what happened today "

" Faisal told you he was going to cook for you? " habib couldn't help but asked. He remembered all those time when he always beg Faisal to cook for him but the man wouldn't even budge. Faisal always made fun of him for not knowing how to cook.

Kalthum nodded with a smile " yeah"

He sent her a small smile " He must love you too much for him to want to do that. He has never even cooked for me not to even talk about the twins"

She smiled shyly

Habib chuckles after seeing her flushed face " look how red you've become "

Umm Rasheed burst out laughing as she also saw kalthum's flushed face " Habib leave the poor girl alone "

He chuckled then raised his hands in surrender " OK fine "

" Remember when I told you two to come so I can teach you how to cook? you're the one always scaling all the time whereas Faisal learnt all the basics of cooking " Umm Rasheed told him.

He pouted "I'm now regretting that now"

Kalthum laughed at his pouting mouth. That moment all the guilt she had been feeling had disappeared. Habib does knows how to make her feel good that sometimes she wished Faisal will learn one or two things from him. It would have been easier if she had just fell inlove with Habib instead. Kalthum shook the thoughts away.

It's not as if Faisal isn't fun to be with, it's just, whenever he is angry it's hard to understand his feelings especially what is happening with then now.

Faisal walked into the room at that exact moment. He freezed when he witnessed what was happening on the dinning table. Habib, Nanny and Kalthum were laughing as if their live depends on it.

He felt a jolt in his chest. How can she be laughing after what she had done? How can she be sitting comfortably on the dinning seat when the maids are not allowed to? Doesn't she feel any guilt within her? How can she be so comfortable with everything going on right now?

Faisal's eyes went back to Habib. He felt some kind of jealousy that it was his brother that was making her laugh like that. Kalthum has never laughed as loud as she was doing now anytime they were together. He was boiling in rage.

He cleared his throat trying to get their attention. He was met with six pairs of eyes. He dreaded making eye contact with kalthum. He is scared of what this anger in him was going to cause.

" Faisal " Kalthum said almost breathlessly. She quickly stood up from the chair.

" Son you're back. How is your mother doing ?" Umm Rasheed asked in concern .

Habib studied his brother. He knew something was wrong with Faisal. Especially how he hasn't answered to all the questions he was being asked. The way he kept clenching his teeth and the way his hand was set into a fist.

" are you alright Faisal? Did something happened to mom? " Habib couldn't help but ask.

Faisal heaved a sigh " Mom is fine " he answered dismissively then made eye contact with Kalthum " Meet me in the study room " he told her then left .

Habib couldn't believe What just happened. Why was Faisal behaving like this? He turned to look at the two women who also mirrors his confusing.

" It's best I go meet him now " kalthum said to them and left in hurry.

Faisal paced in his study waiting for Kalthum. It wasn't long he heard a knock on the door.

Kalthum finally pushed the door after not hearing any respond. She knew Faisal was angry. She closed the door behind her then moved into the middle of the study.

" Faisal " she said

He sent her a glare " It's SIR FAISAL to you"

She was taken by surprised " Faisal what is going on? I swear I didn't mean to push your mother "

He shot her a look " you never meant to do that?! Are you sure about that?! The funniest thing is that I walked in just to see you having the best time of your life laughing like your life depends on it "

She furrowed her brows " what do you mean? "

" Don't stand there pretending as if you didn't know what you did. I should have known all along that you were just using me. Now you're planning to do the same to my BROTHER!"

Her eyes widened twice their size " you can't be serious Faisal. You know I love only you"

" I'm definitely finding it hard to believe that right now. What did I expect? I should have known that someone like you isn't worthy to be with "

She looked at him in shock with teary eyes " you don't mean what you said Faisal. I agree you're angry but please don't hurt me this way, please "

" You're just like the others. Don't even try tricking me with your fake tears. I'm done trying to side with you all the time. I'm done allowing you to use me. YOU'RE ALL THE SAME " He yelled at her

" please don't do this to us Faisal. I don't understand where all this anger of yours is coming from. You know I love you wholeheartedly. If it's about your mother, I'll give you some space so you can have time to think but please don't do what I'm thinking you're about to do" she pleaded as she held his hand. " please don't hurt me Faisal "

He withdrew his hand " Don't touch me. Don't you ever touch me with your filthy hands. So you think I won't find out the truth? I know all your secrets Kalthum. I'm stupid for not seeing it on time but now, I'll never allow you to do exactly what you did to me to my brother"

" What? " she gasped in shock " what did I do? "

He scoffed " you don't need to pretend. I know all your secrets. I WANT YOU OUT OF MY LIFE "

She gasped loudly. Tears pooled don't her face " you don't mean it "

" Read my lips. I meant everything I said. " he walked to his desk ,he took the brown envelope on the desk then walked back to her.

" please Faisal, stop hurting me. My heart is breaking right now " she help onto his shirt " please don't leave me. Wallahi I love you"

He pushed her off him " STAY AWAY FROM ME "

She broke down in tears all over again " you're breaking my heart Faisal. Your words towards me are harsh"

He smirked " Then start getting used to it from now henceforth because this is the version of me you'll begin to see"

She looked at him in shock. Her Faisal has changed. This isn't the Faisal she knew. Her Faisal will never do his to her. He won't "

Faisal grabbed her hand and placed the envelope on it " Take this money and stay out of my life. It's your salary. Please go to the lodge, pack all your things and leave my house and life "

She froze . She was confused. Everything that's happened right now made no sense to her. One minute she thought he was talking about his mother's incidence and the next minutes it was as if he was talking about something else. She was heartbroken. Never has she ever felt this way in her life. Faisal was terribly hurting her. No one has ever hurt her like this.

" What? " she said out of shock .

" You heard me right. I'm finally giving you your freedom. You're here for the money right? So here is the money and leave my house "

" wh-at... You.. Ca-n't do th-is to me " she forced out words

" The deed has been done. GET OUT "

Kalthum held her chest. It was burning terribly. What is happening to her? she asked herself . Is this what it feels like to be heartbroken? She couldn't help but stay glued to the floor. She looked at the man causing her misery. He was breaking her to pieces. Does he knows that? Her tears have finally stopped but her heart his bleeding badly.

Does this means her love for him meant nothing to him? Kalthum wasn't herself any more. Her mind was closing up on her. She felt as if she was about to go crazy. What is happening to me?.

She stared at Faisal one last time. The look in his eyes scares her. He wasn't himself. He wasn't her Faisal. She dropped the envelope on the floor then wrapped her hand around her body. He has finally succeeded in breaking her.

Yes, she needed the money but she would never take this kind of money from him especially with the way he tagged her to be a gold digger. Faisal looked at the money on the floor.

" Ok" she let out then walked out of the door without turning back. She kept walking that she already has her mind made up.

Kalthum kept walking that she didn't even hear Umm Rahseed and habib calling her name. She only has one mission and that is to leave the house as soon as possible. She felt as if she was suffocating in the house. She needed to be out as soon as possible.

Kalthum finally reached her lodge. She pushed the door to her room with a loud bang. Basma who was in the room got scared.

" are you planning to break down the door !" Basma shouted at her but kalthum wasn't even listening.

Kalthum ran to the drawer she packed all her stuffs then put it in her box. The tears refuses to stop.

Basma was confused " what happened? " she asked as she went to stand beside Kalthum.

Kalthum refuses to answer. She kept packing her stuff.

" I'm talking to you Kalthum " Basma grabbed her hand to stop her and that was when Kalthum snapped .

" Let me go! " she screamed " You people should let me be. Isn't this what you wanted? Then good for you, your wish had finally come to pass"

"What do you mean? "

Kalthum sent her a death glare " Don't try acting innocent right now. I'm finally going home and Faisal has broken up with me. You can now have him to yourself "

" WHAT??"
