She walks into the building all sweaty and tired. Training with her father has lately become really intense. She is approaching the age of twenty-one and she will soon be officially named the delegate Alpha, and she will be crowned of course after her father passes on. School is ending in two months, and final exams start next week. Kayola has been able to successfully juggle school, training, and home. She however has to do more studying for her upcoming examinations.

She goes up the stairs into her room and soon, she is all fresh and ready for the rest of the day. She walks down the stairs and eats breakfast. Breakfast is shoat’s head and tea. As she stands up to leave the dining room for school, Kayola informs her mother and Petra of her plans for the rest of the day.

“Mom, Aunt Petra, I won’t be coming home for lunch. I will be staying at the library until dinnertime.”

“But, won’t you be hungry? Your brain needs enough food to provide glucose to aid your studying” Wanda states.

“That’s true, Mom. I did not think of that.” Kayola replies.

“It’s okay. I’ll send Telsa to you at 3 pm. She’ll bring you fruits and enough water” Petra says, solving the problem.

“Thank you, Aunt Petra, you are the best!”

“I know right. You know, I heard from the grapevine that you were conceived in the library or something like that,” Petra says, scratching the back of her neck innocently.

“Aunt Petra! My ears have suffered from your sexual lectures and innuendos” Kayola exclaims, her cheeks beginning to turn red.

“There’s nothing you can do about it, baby. Petra has been like this even before you were born” Wanda says, giggling like a child.

“I know, Mom, and I love her still.”

“I bet you do, baby” responds Petra.

Kayola kisses each of them and exits the building. In a few seconds, she is en route to her school. As soon as she arrives, she is notified by the Public Address System in the hallway that the students should assemble in the school hall for a brief meeting.

The meeting ends pretty fast. The principal only urged them all to study very hard for the fast-approaching examinations. The students quickly disperse after the meeting and go for their revision classes. Soon, school is over and Kayola leaves the school premises, in the company of guards of course.

Kayola walks towards the Pack Library and as she approaches the library, the guards bow in respect. She cheerfully greets them and enters the VIP section of the library. It is secluded as always, and the books are beautifully displayed on the shelves.

As she settles down to read, Kayola is overcome by a foreboding feeling. She waves it off, thinking that she is only being paranoid. She opens her book and starts to study. Ten minutes later, she has a strange feeling, as if she is being watched. Of course, there are guards outside, but she feels a weird presence around her.

What could be happening?

Again, she shakes off the feeling and continues to study. Almost immediately, Kayola hears a sound behind her, inaudible to her human ears but loud enough for her wolf to sense it. She turns slowly to see who or what is making this sound.

Too late.

Kayola finds herself lifted from her seat and held by the neck against the wall. She slowly opens her eyes and sees him.

“Sebastian?” she asks, clearly surprised.

“Yes, Kayola. It is I, and if you know what’s good for you, you will shut the hell up and listen to what I have to say” he commands, his voice deep and dangerous.

Kayola nods slowly and slowly sizes him up. Although he is taller than she is, she can sense that he is just half as strong as she is. Hell, he’s a wolf of very low breed.

“I have always wanted you like this, Kayola. I have always craved to have you be at my mercy. Now, I am going to take you just like I have always fantasized.” He pushes her against one of the large tables and bends her over roughly, lifting her skirt and unzipping his pants. Kayola calculates the strength she’ll need to push the heavy mahogany table, and she pushes the table with all of her might. She turns to face Sebastian and before he can say “Jack”, she transforms into her wolf and charges at him. He also changes into his wolf but he is no match for Kayola.

She aims at his arm and she promptly bites his entire leg off. He howls in excruciating pain and almost immediately, about sixteen guards charge into the library. One would wonder what they were doing all the while and why they did not hear Sebastian push Kayola against the wall or Kayola push the table. Turns out that the VIP section of the library is soundproof in both ways in order to allow the Alpha and his family to read quietly and peacefully.

Big mistake.

One guard attempts to plunge his spear into Sebastian’s heart but Kayola quickly stops him.

“We must show mercy,” she says.

The sentinels lift a wounded, bleeding, and one-legged Sebastian out of the library and into the Alpha’s chambers. Here, Milos pronounces that he be taken to the hospital to heal and that he must be under close watch by the guards. After, he is to join the pack servants and serve for a whole year. The Alpha’s command is immediately obeyed and the perpetrator is taken to the hospital.

Back at the mansion, and in the kitchen, Kayola is giving Petra and Wanda a breakdown of the incident.

“Oh my! That bastard should be castrated!” Wanda exclaims, shaking with anger.

“Mom, it’s fine, I handled the situation,” Kayola says.

“Oh yeah? That’s my baby girl. I am proud of you” Petra says, with a smirk on her face.

“Excuse me?” Eutychus, Milos’ personal and most trusted servant comes into the kitchen.

“What’s up, Eutychus?”

“I am sorry to barge in on you, but the Alpha has sent for Miss Kayola. He says she should meet him at the training field immediately.”

“Alright, I’ll be there soon. Thanks.” Kayola says and immediately leaves the kitchen and goes to see her father.

“I am so proud of you, my child” Milos says.

“Thanks, Papa”

“I am glad that you put all these years of training into practice and you made use of your skills at the required moment. I want you to know that this is the least of the challenges that you will face in your life; and you must face them with bravery, just as you have done today. I love you so much darling, and I promise to do better in protecting you. No one will ever mess with my angel” Milos vehemently promises.

“Thank you, Papa. I owe my survival today to your rigorous training. I now see why you have been tough with me, and why you have always ensured that I show up every time to my training. Don’t worry, Dad, I can handle myself okay, I’ll just be more careful, okay?”

“Alright baby girl. One more thing, you need to decide between ‘Papa’ and ‘Dad’.” He says, pulling his daughter’s cheeks.

“I love both of them, but I think I prefer to call you ‘Papa’

“Well, ‘Papa’ it is, then,” Milos says, smiling at Kayola.

Together, they walk back to the mansion, hand-in-hand, father and daughter.
