Chapter 36: Chapter 36

Chapter 35

I put on a bathrobe first and dried my hair before taking the dress that we sewed for Antoine who came yesterday until now. I am amazed at the beauty of the dress that Antoine created and I no longer wonder why the dress is so famous. clothes he makes. If the dress in the sketch is beautiful, it will be very beautiful if you can see it in person and my eyes will not lose the shine while looking at the dress. The fabric used here is soft so it does not irritate the skin. The scarf that hung around my neck was also made of the fur of a mythical rabbit, so it was very soft and very nice to hold.

I stared at my own reflection and never lost the smile on my lips as I circled the mirror. I put the ear cuff on my ear and hung the expensive necklace that Antoine sent around my neck.

It was afternoon when Lina and I finished reready so we went to the throne room where the coronation will be held. We haven't seen Trevas yet because I was still soaking in the bathtub when he left because he had to be early for the coronation but it's ok because we will also meet at the celebration itself.

There were already many people when Lina and I arrived and we saw Lieutenant Jared at the door of the throne room, probably waiting for us. No— probably waiting for Lina.

When we went inside, we were sitting in the back seat and just as we were sitting, the king who was sitting on the throne in front stood up and asked everyone to stand up.

The music played I don’t know where it was coming from but I ignored it when the door opened and Trevas walked from there who was currently wearing his uniform as a general. He walked in front of the king and the people applauded but it was as loud as Lina and I applauded like Trevas' mother who was very proud of him.

The king beat the golden staff he was holding and it made a noise that echoed throughout the large room and the companion was the silence of everyone.

The king asked the man to sit down so we sat down together and Trevas knelt on a small foam on the floor that was really ready for This ceremony. The king's royal advisor approached while he was carrying a pillow on which a scepter and crown rested.

The king placed the crown a little smaller than the one he was wearing and handed Trevas the scepter. The royal advisor left for a while and before returning with a cape before handing it to the king. The king took the cape before putting it on Trevas and raised it from his knees.

Trevas confronted the people and at the same time we also stood up.

"I, Henrick Beifang ... King of the kingdom of Beifang is proclaming Trevas Beifang as the crown prince and the heir of the throne"

Lina and I clapped until our palms turned red but I noticed that we were almost the only ones clapping because the people around us were whispering quietly. We were at the back of the seat so I could see the people whispering but we were too far away to hear what they were talking about.

Trevas looked at the people and I know he also noticed the strange reaction of the people but he ignored that so I just didn't speak either.

When the coronation was over, everyone went straight to the palace hall where the grand ball will be held.

As soon as Lina and I entered, we were immediately greeted by music coming from somewhere and beautiful rotating fairy lights hanging from the ceiling that were the only source of light in the whole room, so it was a bit dark, especially at night.

Lina and lieutenant Jared and I sat at an empty table and sat on the L-shaped sofa opposite it. I looked around and tried to find Trevas because we did not take him with us to go here because the king spoke to him after the coronation. I looked at the door when someone came in in black but my shoulders also went numb when I saw that it wasn't Trevas.

Wait, why am I looking for him? I was shaken before I took the glass in front of me with only the wine that one of the waiters had served us earlier until the main course was served which will be served later after the dance.

Suddenly the music changed and the sound of a violin could be heard so many people went to the middle of the palace hall and their respective partners danced.

Lieutenant Jared stood up in his seat so Lina and I turned to him at the same time. Lieutenant Jared confronted Lina before extending his hand and making her dance. Without hesitation, I was stunned when Lina reached for lieutenant Jared's hand and left me alone at our table.

I took the bottle of wine in the middle of the table and poured it into my glass and was about to pour it when I was suddenly stopped by someone holding my hand in front of me.

I stared at that hand before looking up at the owner of that hand so our eyesight was right.

"Shall we dance?" Trevas asked before bringing his hand even closer to me. I don't know why but I suddenly smiled at what he said before I reached for his hand and let him pull me to the middle of the dance floor.

He placed my left hand on his shoulder before interwining my right hand and his left hand while his right hand was placed on my waist.

He stared at me before we slowly danced along to the slow music.

"You looked so beautiful"

I laughed a little at what he said but I also suddenly stopped when he just stared at me while laughing. I suddenly averted my eyes when our eyes met and my heartbeat quickened. I know how it feels ... But I don't know if I should continue.

"You looked so handsome" I said laughing but I still wasn't looking at him.

He is now wearing the dress that we sewed for Antoine that is just right for him, so our clothes are already matching.

"Look at me" Trevas whispered but I still didn't look at him and just bent down while watching our feet slowly step left and right.

"Alissa" seemed to have something stinging in my heart when she called me by my name. He grabbed my chin and presented me to him before he approached and pressed our foreheads together.

I stared into his eyes who were also staring at me intently before his gaze shifted to my lips. My knees almost weakened because of the mixed emotions I was feeling but fortunately his arms were held tightly around my waist.

"Alissa" he called again and I almost gave up because of the intensity of how I was feeling. I didn't realize that little by little he was tearing down the wall I had built in my heart when I was once hurt.

I'm wavering ... And it's starting to frighten me ...

"Thank you for coming into my world Alissa" Trevas began and at the same time the last wall I had built in my heart began to break down. "Thank you for staying with me even though I have so many problems"

He separated our foreheads before lowering his face to my neck as we continued to swing.

"Alissa ... I like you so damn much."

I looked up a little and bit hard on my lower lip while trying to control my losing heart.

"I ..." I began but before I could say what I wanted to say I suddenly stopped.

“There’s no‘ us ’Alissa” those words that Luke once said to me repeatedly echoed in my brain.

I knew Luke and Trevas were different people but I couldn’t help myself from being afraid that I would feel the pain I had felt before. I didn't go crazy then and I didn't even cry but the pain got worse when you just kept it all to yourself. It hurts more when you just hide how you feel until one day you explode because it's too much.

I took a step back from Trevas and lost touch with him. He looked at me in surprise but I immediately turned away from him and walked out of the palace hall to calm myself. I even heard him call me but I just went straight and didn't look at him.

I didn’t know where I was going as long as I just kept walking until I saw no one else. I grabbed hold of the pole next to me and tried to calm down.

I tried to convince myself that Trevas was different. He’s not like Luke and Trevas won’t betray me like he is but whatever I do doesn’t lose the intense fear in my chest.

I'm scared. I fear the day will come when I will hate Trevas as much as I hate Luke now and I don’t know if I will be able to cope if I experience being betrayed again by one of those I trust.

I stood up straight and looked around. I was too busy with how I was feeling so I didn't notice where I was in the palace. I was close to the courtyard of Trevas where we were staying but there weren't many royal servants passing by because there was an event currently being held in the palace hall.

I was about to walk back to the palace hall when I stopped when I saw Luke standing opposite Trevas' courtyard. He was just an idiot there and stood quietly and even when the rain suddenly started to fall he did not move in his seat.

I was also starting to get wet from the rain but I also didn't move from my seat and just watched Luke who suddenly sighed.

He started walking in my direction but suddenly stopped when he saw me. We were both soaking wet because of the heavy rain.

"Luke!" We both turned to the caller and frowned when I saw Lady Mara carrying an umbrella. Lady Mara stopped walking towards Luke when she saw me before looking at Luke in surprise.

"Wait for me on the front gates" Luke said without taking his eyes off me.

Lady Mara looked at us hesitantly before speaking. "Hurry up, we're waiting in Bauxacel"

My forehead wrinkled even more. Bauxacel?

To be continued....
