Chapter 27: Chapter 27

Chapter 26

"You know what? I prefer you not to look for that arrogance. The courage when we fought but he was very cowardly when we caught him ”said Alaric before leaning back in his seat.

Lieutenant Jared laid down the paper he had been looking at. "According to the letter, they found Alastor hanging upside down in a secluded part of the forest to the west"

I heard Alaric laugh but we ignored him and just focused our attention on Lieutenant Jared. "It was also said that because Alastor had been hanging upside down for several hours, he lost consciousness and they did not know what his condition was because they did not have Alchemist with them."

"I hope we can stay" Lina whispered as Lieutenant Jared turned to her.

"What?"

"I hope so" Lieutenant Jared said seriously, which made not only Lina but everyone laugh, except Luke who was silently looking at his cup.

"When will they be able to return to the palace?" Trevas asked before placing his elbow on the table.

"They said a day after I received this message, So Bukas" Trevas nodded but before he could speak a man came and I spotted one of Trevas' staff whom he always ordered. It gasped as it approached Trevas before saluting.

"What is it?" Trevas asked with a frown because he probably noticed that what his staff was going to say didn't seem to be good news.

"Her Majesty Queen Vivian sir, the people of the kingdom of Firlame will bring them back"

"What?" Trevas asked before standing up and started walking towards the palace hall so we all stood up to follow him except Luke and Alaric who remained seated because they probably didn't know who Vivian was and they didn't care who it was.

When we arrived at Tapat ng Palace Hall, the door opened just in time and from there came out about ten people from the kingdom of firlame and in the middle of them was Vivian who was being helped to walk by a woman. I frowned when I saw Vivian's face. She had lost weight and her cheeks were almost sunken while her eyes had thick eyebags as if she hadn't slept in recent days. What happened here?

If I remember correctly, Luke and Alaric did not look like this when they stayed in the Palace Chamber for a few days.

“Where’s Alaric?” Vivian asked in a hoarse voice when she saw Trevas and me but before Trevas could speak he was preceded by the king who had just left the Palace Hall and behind him were four royal guards who were around 6-7 level.

"Even if we tell you where Alaric is, you don't have a right to him" he said, which is why we turned to him at the same time except for Vivian who is still looking at Trevas and waiting for his answer.

"My staff has found him, they can come back tomorrow" Trevas replied.

Vivian nodded before turning to the king who was still at the door of the palace hall. "We will stay at an inn near the palace for a few days and we will only return to the firlame once I make sure Alastor is safe"

The king didn't say a word so Vivian just turned her back on him before starting to walk towards the main gate of the palace with the firlame people who were probably sent by their king who was Vivian's father because she was a princess in that kingdom.

Trevas sighed as he watched Vivian walk away without looking back or saying goodbye even for the last time. I grabbed Trevas' hand and smiled at him when he turned his back on me and he smiled back at me.

"Trevas" we both turned to the king.

"Let's talk ... I will tell you everything you have to know" he said before walking back inside the palace hall.

"Trevas is still in the palace hall?" I asked Lina after I came down from the second floor. She was sitting on the long white sofa in the living room and had what was written on magical parchment paper on the coffee table.

Lina didn't answer me because she was probably focused on writing so I approached her and peeked at what she was writing but I didn't understand it very well because apart from Lina's ugly letter I was a bit far away and the only one I read I was just the last one he wrote '-Lina' before every letter on the paper suddenly lit up and it gradually disappeared.

"What is that?" I asked when what he wrote on the paper disappeared. Lina suddenly turned to me and even touched her chest in shock.

"What? Why are you not talking?" he asked before he laid on the table the violet magical pen he used to write. I know that’s mysterious because Lina hasn’t used ink for writing before.

"What's that?" I asked again before pouting at the parchment paper he had written on earlier.

"Messenger" Lina said before leaning on the sofa so I sat next to her.

"Messenger?"

"Oh no, paper to Alissa, paper" Lina whispered so I laughed at her.

“So what is there? What did you write earlier? ” I asked again before advancing and taking a good look at the slightly glowing paper and pen.

"I'm talking to Jared using that" Lina promised with a smile.

"How?" I asked but before Lina and I could answer, the paper lit up again and there the letters gradually appeared.

Lina also stepped forward and read what was written.

'Sleep. –Jared ”

Lina's smiles suddenly widened before she was covered in her face and a thrill rolled on the sofa.

"Aray, what is it?" I disobeyed him when he hit me because of his burning. "You were told to go to bed so excited?"

Lina stopped in her tracks before looking at me badly. "Don't you know the saying, 'It's the thought that counts?'

"I don't know about you, where is Trevas?" I asked before turning around.

"It's in the palace hall for a while," Lina said before writing again to the 'messenger' she said.

I looked out the window and realized that the sky was dark but the conversation between Trevas and the king still didn't end this afternoon.

I exited the main building inside Trevas' courtyard and looked around. I walked to the manmade pond and stood in the middle of the bridge before quietly observing the pond where the big moon and thousands of stars reflected in the sky. I laid my hands on the railings of the bridge before gasping for breath.

‘Why are you pretending to be there?’ I suddenly stood up straight and held my chest when I heard Anna’s voice.

‘Don’t panic all of a sudden’ I told him before returning my arms to rest on the railings.

‘Why are you making a fuss?’ He asked again.

‘I’m just thinking about what Trevas and I can talk about now’

‘Ah .. Trevas’ said Anna but I could hear the teasing in her voice.

‘What’s on your mind?’ I asked him but he just laughed at me.

‘What do you think they were talking about?’

I shrugged before hugging myself as the breeze suddenly cooled. ‘I don’t know, maybe it’s about who Trevas’ real mother is or why Vivian is his mother as long as I know it will be difficult for Trevas to accept all ‘this’

‘You think so?’

‘Yes, he’s a scary demon even if everyone knows him, I know deep inside Trevas, he’s a human and I can see how he’s affected by the people he cares about. Even Vivian, who is a demon, who is not her real mother, he values and just proves that she is not a demon as others say about her. ”

‘You care for him, do you?’ Anna asked so I suddenly stopped and thought deeply.

‘Yes, I think I care for him.’ I admit.

‘Do you like him?’ I suddenly frowned.

‘Where did that question‘ come from? ’

‘To me, is it obvious?’ I asked. ‘So what? You like him? ’

I frowned again and thought deeply but before I could answer I suddenly saw Trevas appear in the shadow of a large cherry blossom tree before he climbed the tree and lay down on one of its branches.

I stood up straight and walked there closer to the tree, Trevas was wearing white robes so he wasn’t too visible there with the branches and you add that it was dark and only the moonlight served as light here in the courtyard.

I called him "Trevas" almost in a whisper but I knew he heard it because he sat up and smiled at me while his legs were hanging.

"Stop smiling" his jaw suddenly stiffened at what I said. "It look so fake"

He lost his smile before he sighed and patted the seat next to him as if signaling me to sit there.

I teleported to the place next to him but I almost fell. Fortunately, Trevas grabbed me by the waist, so I was able to get my seat.

"How was it?" what I'm referring to is the one they talked about when the king.

"Surprising, I guess?" he said laughing before looking up at the sky.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to" I said before looking at the sky as well.

"It's About my real mother" Trevas began. “She’s not dead ...

... but she’s not alive either ”

Years ago, when Henrick Beifang was not yet the crowned king of the kingdom there was a family that everyone shunned.

They live in the farthest corner of the kingdom where it is secluded and few people live because apart from being far from the town where daily necessities can be bought it is also close to the forest where many dangerous animals live..
