"Why did you tell such a lie to the doctor?" Vicky asked the moment we stepped out of the doctor's office.

"What do you mean by that Vicky?" I asked in return, "My kid's do not have a dad," I told her, "am surprised you are asking me this question," I said again, angrily.

"Your kids have a dad," Jimmy said, when Vicky didn’t reply.

"And where is he?" I snapped, "Is he here now, or have you seen him before when you visited my house," I said furiously at Jimmy, I wish now that I never told him the truth, maybe he wouldn't look at me the way he does now.

"I know that you are angry but you shouldn't say a thing like that about a man who is alive and well," Jimmy said rather calmly.

"Well, my kids do not have a dad, because to me the man never even exist," I replied him coldly.

"Mummy, I don't have a dad?" Sandra asked, her eyes paring inquisitively at me.

"Have you seen what you've caused," I said through my teeth, angrily at Vicky and Jimmy,

"Is it because he is dead?" She asked again, her eyes still peering at me and I couldn't help but feel a little guilty right now.

"Am sorry, sweetie," I apologized pulling her close as I bent to give her a hug.

"I and Alex have always talked about it mummy, we even made plans on a list of things we would want to do when we meet daddy, too bad he is dead now." She said again leaning on my shoulder.

"Am so sorry sweetie, mummy is so so sorry," I apologized still hugging her.

"See what you've caused," I mumbled to Vicky and Jimmy lifting my head to look at them, they both looked at me in disapproval I guess, but that doesn't matter to me anyway.

"Come on Sandra, let's go get a drink," Jimmy said to Sandra stretching forth his hand for her to take it, "Talk to your friend Vicky," He said, turning briefly to Vicky and to me, as Sandra took his hands.

"What are you doing Kim?" Vicky asked the moment Jimmy and Sandra left us.

"I don't understand you, what do you mean by that?" I said furiously in clenched teeth.

"This is no time to be getting angry Kim, it's Alex life we are talking about, your son's life Kim, and why in the world would you tell such a lie to your daughter's face, what do you think is going to happen when she finds out that her father is alive and well?" She was saying when I cut in.

"He’s never going to find out, I won't let it Vicky, the man does not exist to me," I snapped again looking at her.

"He doesn't exist to you but he exist to your children, you heard Sandra, she and Alex are making plans for when they meet their dad already, you can not hide him forever you know, now look at this, he is going to donate his blood for your son, don't you think he would find out eventually," Vicky said to me rather calmly.

"Look Kim, I know you don't like to hear this but, I think it's time for you to let Kyle know what he has done to you," she added, "Don't get me wrong, don't get me wrong Kim," she said when in shook my head sideways in disapproval to her statement.

"I just want what's best for you and your kids, my godchildren, I love them too you know, I want them to get to know their dad, I mean, the man doesn't look that evil to me, and believe me when I say that he is going to find out, maybe not now, and your kids are my most concern, I don't want them to hate you for this lie," she said

"Are you going to tell him? Or are you going to tell my kids? I wonder which side you are on Vicky," I told her getting frustrated at this point, I thought she would be on my side on this, it's obvious she isn't, and that's what's frustrating.

"I'm on your side Kim, I've always been on your side."

"Yes, that's my point, you have always been on my side but this time, why so?" I asked fuming with anger.

"Believe it or not, I'm on your side Kim," she said stretching her hands to reach me, but I moved away since I am angry with her at the moment.

"Let's just drop this Vicky, I need to go check on Alex.

" I'm coming with you," she replied without further argument...

Doctor Sam's door just swung open the moment I and Vicky wanted to leave to see Alex, we were standing a few inches away from his office.

"There you are Miss Brown, I was on my way to see you," Doctor Sam said walking towards us, from the look on his face I can tell that there's something wrong.

"What's wrong Doctor?" I asked before he could reach us.

"I am not able to get hold of Mr Kyle," he told us.

"What do you mean you are not able to hold of Mr Kyle?" I asked impatiently, my eyes glued at him.

"I've tried countless times but his number is not connecting, I also tried calling his house but some lady told me he's not in, his office line keeps ringing but he is not picking up." He said, "Alex needs that transfusion urgently, and am out of options here." He added, and I can see the worry in his eyes even though he is trying to sound cool.

"What?" I asked feeling terrified, "You see that? You see that Vicky?" I asked turning to Vicky, I do not know what else to do.

"How unreliable he can be? He knew that my son's life is in danger and his phone switched off, he's not in his house neither is he in his office." I snapped, looking from Vicky to Doctor Sam, am not directing my speech to any of them in particular, I just don't know what to do.

"What do I do? What am I going to do doctor?" I asked, feeling like am about to lose my mind.

"You know what Mrs Brown, why don't you go to his address, see if you can find him, I'll write down his address for you." Doctor Sam suggested.

"Write it down, write it down," I told him without thinking, I mean, what's there to think about, I need to go and find that b*stard.

"Okay, one moment please," Doctor Sam said and walked back towards his office.

"Are you sure you want to go find him, Kim?" Vicky asked peering at me.

"Yes Vicky, I don't have a choice, do I?" I replied.

"Why don't you let me go look for him instead," she offered.

"No Vicky, I need to see that b*stard for myself, he needs to hear it from me, " I replied Vicky in clenched teeth, my blood boiling in rage.

"This is the man you want me to let into my kid's life, is it Vicky?" I asked Vicky, who just looked at me without saying anything, I guess she sees my reason now.

Doctor Sam came running back towards us, and in his hands is a piece of paper.

"Here you go Mrs Brown, this his office address and this is his house address," Doctor Sam told me pointing to each address written on the piece of paper in his hands. "You can check him first at his office because he may have gone there already, if you can't find him there, then you can go to his house, these are the two places I know he can be, try and hurry up Mrs Brown, I hope you find him soon." Doctor Sam said to me, I just nodded in response before he leaves again.

"Are you sure you can handle it, Kim?" Vicky asked again, looking worried.

"Yes, I can Vicky, please watch over my kids for me.

"Don't worry, they're in safe hands." She replied and with that, I walked away from her...
