Chapter 103: Chapter 103
"Is there a problem Kyle?" Brian asked as we bumped into each other on my way out of Dad's room, "is dad alright?" he added almost immediately.
"Yes, he is, Brian, I was asked to leave so that he can have some rest," I replied Brian.
"I hope you two did not argue?" He asked again.
"No, Brian, we did not," I replied to him.
"Then, why are you looking like this? I mean, your face is so gloomy, as if you both had an argument," Brian asked again peering inquisitively at me, I can sense the concern in his tone.
"It's nothing Brian, it's just that Dad said he is going to look for another wife for me and I told him I want Kimberly to be my wife instead,"
"You did what?" Brian asked, "you mean, you told that you want to marry Kimberly?" He added still peering at me.
"Yes, Brian," I replied wondering why he is sounding the way he does now, "is something wrong with my decision? She is a woman I want to marry," I told Brian.
He stared at me for a while, "I support you," he finally said, "if that is what you really want but the problem here is, Dad, you know how he is, he cares so much about his reputation, are you sure he is going to let you marry her, and again do you think Kimberly will fit into this society of ours? You know how challenging it is for us to keep up, not to talk of Kimberly who is not used to such a lifestyle," Brian asked again.
"I do not care about her fitting into our Society, Brian, what I care about now is her accepting me as her husband, I do not know how to approach her yet on that topic, given our history," I told Brian, "you saw how mad she was at me earlier," I added.
"I think she is going to forgive you," Belinda said working in on us.
I did not see her coming, "excuse me?" I asked sounding and looking surprised at her, I am surprised that she would even say that to me, I mean, we were never on talking terms, so I never expected her to say such a thing to me.
"What did you say?" I asked again, to be sure.
"I said, she is going to forgive you, Kyle," Belinda repeated standing beside Brian and in front of me.
"Are you sure?" I asked still sounding surprised that she would even talk to me, we have barely spoken to each other since she got married to Brian.
"Hey, man, what's wrong? You look surprised?" Brian asked staring at me.
"Yes, Brian,... no... I mean..." I stammered, not sure what to reply.
"You don't have to be surprised, Kyle, I did not talk to you much and I know it is not your fault anyway, I just decided to keep my distance especially since that rude girlfriend of yours is always around you, I felt that it will be nice if I kept my distance," Belinda said to me.
"Oh, is that the reason for this surprised look on your face?" Brian asked and continues, "Belinda is my wife, but she hardly talks to me too, so that should not come as a surprise to you," Brian told me trying to sound funny.
"Excuse me? This is not funny, Brian, you mean, you barely talk to your wife, no, your wife barely talk to you?" I asked rephrasing the question immediately.
"Yes, Kyle, we have been married for over seven years and we barely talk to each other," Brian replied.
"And whose fault is it?" Belinda asked turning to face Brian, furrowing her face at him.
"Excuse me?" Brian asked facing her too.
"I asked, whose fault is it? You have never given me the opportunity to talk to you as a husband, how then do you expect me to talk to you," Belinda asked Brian.
"Excuse me?" Brian asked again, sounding confused, "it is you who have never given me the chance to communicate properly to you, that is why I felt that it will be best letting you be," Brian told her, furrowing his brows too at her.
"No, Brian, you have always been busy with your work, always running to your Dad whenever he calls and neglecting your duties to me as your wife, that is why, Brian, you barely make yourself available for a discussion, that is the reason, and not me," Belinda told him, sounding furious.
I stared from Brian to Belinda not knowing what to say, nor what to do.
"I have been busy with work? What about you? You have also been busy with your work as well," Brian told her.
"No, Brian, I have always made out some time hoping you would communicate properly to me as your wife but you never do that, all you do is come to me for sex and after that, you retire to your work without proper communication or affection, you leave, Brian and I know the reason why you even have time for sex with me, it is because you want to give your dad an heir that he badly needs, not because you care about me," Belinda said furiously, glaring at Brian.
I think I know what is going on here, these two have lacked proper communication in their relationship, which is what I think they need, they may be in love with each other without knowing it, that could be the reason for this argument between them...
