Chapter 6: Chapter 6
“You mean, a wolf pack? But, how?” I incredulously asked. What does he mean by he had seen himself in a wolf pack? Ethan is here with me, with Bobby, with us. That’s impossible if that is what he is in his vision.
He shrugged his shoulders, and there was a hint of disarray and a mixture of determination in his eyes.
“I guess so. I don’t have any idea, Natasha. There were many of them, and I could see myself with them. The vision is not yet cleared since there are instances that it’s blurry.” he explained, then ran his fingers through his hair. After that, he shuffled it due to his frustrations. I tapped his shoulder and told him to calm down since he was still injured, but Ethan wasn’t even daunted by his injuries.
“I want to know about it, Natasha. Why do I feel like this curse given to me wasn’t because I was a misfortune or anything? What if…this was passed down to my body? And I was just the holder of this curse?”
My head suddenly hurt when he said these words. I actually can’t grasp behind since I do not understand the wolf packs and his vision that wasn’t broad. Ethan suddenly stood up from his seat, causing me to look up at him. He looks somewhat suddenly proud and determined to settle something.
“I don’t want to assume or anything, but what if it’s true that there are other wolfs out there? Just like Chanel, who got locked up since she couldn’t handle hers?” he paced back and forth in front, his brows knitted in a straight line, and his hands were on his lips, biting his fingertips. His fangs suddenly showed, and his eyes gleamed in pure menace.
I stood up and stopped him before he could do anything that would lead him to reckless behavior. Ethan suddenly cooled down. His eyes turned normal the way it was before. I tapped his cheeks gently, and my eyes were pleading to him.
“Ethan, I know what you saw was something that would really bother you, but relax and process all of these first. Please, we can’t go out there and risk our identity. You told me that this place would help us, and it definitely did, Ethan. But I can not afford to lose you when you got out there.”
I know I may sound selfish right now, but it’s risky and dangerous. We know Allen would do anything just to get the justice he wanted to serve for all of those victims that Ethan had killed. Just the thought of him getting caught by him scares me to death. Allen is a reckless man. He can flip the world if he wants to. No one could stop him since he had the authority to control and manipulate those people around him.
The reason why I can not stand authorities and government in this state.
“I am not going anywhere, my love.”
I snapped back to reality when Ethan leaned his face closer until our noses brushed. He closes his eyes, resting his forehead on mine. Ethan suddenly took my arm and wrapped it around his neck. While on the other hand, he encircled his hand on my waist then he started to sway me in circles on the porch.
“I’m not going anywhere, not without you. It’s not my intention to make you worried and think I will go out there alone to find those other half wolves, just like in my case. No, love. I wanted to point out that I am not the only one who is a misfortune to suffer like this. Looking for them is pointless for now.” he explained, then kissed the tip of my nose that sends electricity throughout my whole body.
“Even though I wanted to know, still, I can’t leave you here.’ he whispered before encircling his hands on my body, protecting me.
We just stood there, feeling each other’s presence in the meantime. I was speechless and thinking about what Ethan had said. Ethan was willing to be here with me and will push aside the vision he saw that would help him once and for all the possibility of breaking the curse. My heart throbbed painfully at the thought, making me sink into the deepest corner of my mind.
“What’s wrong?”
I suddenly looked up when he noticed I was staring out of nowhere. I didn’t realize I was already lost in my own thoughts if Ethan didn’t ask me.
“I feel like I was throwing you out in your freedom of choice.” I sucked a deep breath and then looked at the ceiling, restraining my tears.
“The things I will do for love are crazy,” I whispered, then looked back at him. He was puzzled, but I just tip-toed and then kissed him on his lips.
“We need to prepare many things before we can travel again and look for the other half wolves, just like your curse you were talking about,” I told him and nodded, giving him my approval. Ethan slowly smiled then he swirled me in circles. We laughed, and I slapped his cheek lightly to set me down. Ethan is tall, so expect I feel like I’m on the edge of a fucking tall building.
“I fucking love you, Natasha. This time, our search won’t flop. I won’t mess up things and hope we may find the answer to this madness.”
I stare at his face, smiling. I grabbed both of his hands and then placed them on my chest, where my heart beating is, so he could feel it beating for him.
“You know, Ethan. I don’t really care if you’re a monster, a normal person, or even a fucking criminal. Whoever you are, whatever you might end up being, I will still always love you. I know I may sound a hypocrite since I wanted you to change before, but who cares anyway right now? People there abused us, and why is it always those victims who will adjust to their abusers? You didn’t intend to kill them. You were just protecting us.” I explained, then closed my eyes.
“I don’t have any reason to fall in love with someone. The word I love you ends there. No more “because of this.” Despite your terrifying other self, I love you for who you are.”
After all that I had just said to him, Ethan was lost for words. A tear suddenly escaped from his eyes when he closed them. I know what this tear means. It signifies joy and pervasiveness in his life because someone has come who accepts him no matter his tradition, character, or thoughts. He slowly leaned his head on my shoulder, and here he sobbed. I stroked his head and kissed the side of his forehead.
I just noticed that he has often shown me his delicate side in recent days. There is nothing wrong with a man crying. There are often people out there who as not pay attention to how men feel. They must be strong-willed and not show any weakness of character, no matter how crushed they are within their hearts. To me, men are weaker when they prefer to hide their true feelings than show them.
"I am here, love. I am always here for you," I whispered, then let him rest on my soul.
I had no idea how many hours we had just stood in the yard, gazing at the sky. Suddenly, a soft fur caressed my foot, and I saw Bobby looking up at us, urging us to lift him up. Ethan stepped away from me, and he picked up Bobby, who was excited because he kept barking. I watched the two of them how to dance. I couldn't help but be emotional as I watched them. Even though I didn't has a child, I considered Bobby to be one. A strong wind blew and almost stroked my hair away. I noticed Ethan looking at me, and he was beaming as he watched me. The light coming from behind him gives life to his character.
A few minutes later, the two of us looked at each other, just sensing each other's souls as we decided to enter the house. Bobby got down, and he ran inside, playing in the middle. We reached for the cracked chandelier, and the crystals scattered on the floor. I heard Ethan gasp violently, and he began to clean up the mess. I decided to help him. The house is massive, and it might take us a few weeks before we clean it all up. There are only two of us living here right now.
I looked up at the ceiling and observed the presence of cracks. I was frightened because this place might collapse. After all, it was senescent. I glanced at Ethan, who looked all right even though bandages were taped to his head. He continued to act even though he was in that condition. I told him he needed to rest, and I would take care of it, but he didn't listen. He still chose to clean because he was the one who started it, not me. I let out a shaky sigh and just continued what I was doing.
A few days passed, and Ethan's wound gradually healed. There was very little clutter, and dust left. However, we decided to leave the house first because we had nothing to eat. Since the house is old, there are no stocks left in it. We had to leave and go downtown somehow to shop for our essentials. At the same time, Ethan and I will begin his discussion of werewolves.
"I think only the twins are affected by this curse."
I nodded, remembering Chanel and Charm. Charm was the average human, while Chanel was the cursed twin. The same goes for Nathan and Ethan. I already noticed the pattern, so it is easy for us to find the holder of the cursed ones in this state. The question is, are we sure all of the twins have the curse? Or is it just coincidentally both Ethan and Chanel are the holders?
This is harder than it looks.
