Chapter 51: Chapter 51

Mama..... please help me mama.....

Lora jumped up from her sleep into a sitting position on the bed, frightened by her dream again.

She startled Michael, who looked up from the coffee he was making in the kitchen area.

“Morning sleepy head.” He said as he regained himself, she must have had a dream he thought, looking at her beautiful face, Michael thinks that Lora is so beautiful and that she even looked more beautiful when she's sleeping.

Lora looks up at Michael who was a stranger to her and shook her head wondering where she is, and how she got here in the first place, then in a splash, the event of last night flashed through her memory.

“OMG!” What is she doing in a stranger's place? How did she get here? Did something happen between them? These questions pooped in her head simultaneously and immediately, she pulled up the bed sheet that's over her body and heaved a sigh of relief immediately after that, she was relieved to see that her clothes are intact, that means nothing happened.

She looked up again to the stranger, who looked at her as if he were able to read her mind.

“What happened? Where am I? I mean how did I get here?” she asked, jumping out of the bed and looking around the apartment, as she did not remember how she ended up there.

She only remembered talking to him and one other guy who was with him in the club, she could also remember that she had drank too much alcohol, she really wanted to get drunk last night but she did not know it will land her in a stranger's home.

“You are in my apartment.” Michael replied looking up briefly at her, and then continued making the coffee he was making when she woke , ignoring the rest of her questions, he did not bother as he already anticipated her reaction earlier.

She looked at him, obviously she knew this must be his house, she thought and looked around the apartment and then back at the stranger.

“Where is my purse?” she asked him, when she saw that he is still busy with what he was doing, he is obviously ignoring her, she thought and looked around the apartment again.

There's only one window in the apartment, she moved to the window and peaked outside, she could see some people outside, who are probably going to their places of work as it is a Monday morning.

“Here you go.” Michael said, giving her purse to her and walked back to the kitchen area to finish what he was doing.

Lora quickly opened the purse, she saw that her things are intact, even her cell phone. She counted the money in her purse, it's still the same, then she remembered she had drank so much last night, who paid her bills? Because she knew she did not pay for it and she still have the same amount of money she had when she left her house yesterday. She looked up again at the stranger, “It seems his not a bad guy, he didn't look like one anyways.” She thought as she looked up from her purse to him.

"He must have paid for the drinks she drank at the club." she thought again.

Michael picked up the cup of coffee he made for himself, he held it in his hands and leaned on the kitchen table looking at her.

“Anything Missing?” he asked when she finished going through her purse as he knew what she was doing.

Lora looked away, ignoring his question, feeling a little embarrassed.

She took out her cell phone to see that she had some missed calls, three from the driver that brought her to the club last night, she had told him to pick her in front of the club once it's 12am, and two missed calls from Grandma Rosa.

“Oh Grandma Rosa!” she exclaimed, her grandma had told her to call her once she settled down and she had forgotten as other things occupied her.

She quickly called back her grandma. “Hello sweetie, what happened?” Grandma Rosa asked immediately she answered the call.

“Am sorry Grandma, I totally forgot because I was so tired and was overtaken by sleep.” She said and turned to look at the stranger, who just stared at her and looked away again.

“Okay sweetie, I called to know if you have settled in, do you like the place? How did you find the house? I hope you like it, is the environment okay, I hope the place is safe, your Papa said it's safe...” Grandma Rosa asked simultaneously, her voice shaky as ever and Lora could feel the curiosity and concern in them.

“Calm down grandma, am fine, and yes, the place is okay, and I think am going to like it here. She told her grandma. “I will be Okay grandma, you don't need to worry.” Lora continued.

“Okay sweetie, just take care of yourself child, and your Papa says hi.” Grandma Rosa said, sounding a little calm this time.

“Is he there with you?” Lora asked. “No dear, but he was here with me last night when I called and he said I should tell you he said hi whenever you call back.” Grandma Rosa replied.

“Okay grandma, I have to go now, please take care of yourself.” Lora said.

“Okay, you too sweetie, be safe okay, I love you.” Grandma Rosa said.

“Bye Grandma Rosa, I love you too.” Lora replied and then hang up. She blew a sigh of relief when she ended the call.

She turned to look at the stranger, who just walk up to her, handing her a cup of coffee.

“Here, drink this.” He said and walked back to sit on the dinning chair close to the kitchen area.

“Thanks.” Lora said holding the cup in her right hand, her eyes followed the stranger as he walked back to take a sit.

She felt guilty a little for suspecting him earlier, he really did not look like a bad person after all, she thought.

“What’s your name?” She asked still looking at him.

“My name is Michael, Michael Williams.” He replied gazing back at her, also holding his cup of coffee in his hand.

“Am Lora, Lora Affonso” She said to him in return and then looked back at her coffee coyly, that's when it hit her that she is not supposed to behave like this anymore. “You are not that shy Lora anymore.” A voice in her head said to her and then she looked up almost immediately again braising herself.

“It's nice to meet you.” Michael said, his gaze still on her. “Same here.” She said in return and took a sip from the cup of coffee in her hand, then looked at him again.

She realized just now how handsome he is, and very young too, but he behaves in a matured way, more mature than his age, Lora could tell because she thinks she would be older than he is, Maybe two or three years older than he is, she thought.

“Don't you have to go to school or work.” Lora asked still looking at him.

“No, I don't have school or work to go to.” He said in reply, trying to figure out what might be going on in her mind, he is totally taken by her, and he can't believe how beautiful she looked even with the make-up faded on her face, she is probably the most beautiful girl he's ever seen, he thought still gazing at her.

He had practically watched her sleep all morning, since he brought her from the club to his apartment.

“Are you new in town?” he asked, his gaze still on her, he had listened to her phone conversation earlier.

“Yes, I arrived yesterday.” Lora replied, looking at her cell phone which is still in her left hand, she called the driver and paused to ask Michael his house address, when he told her, she gave the same address to the taxi driver, who said he will be there to pick her up in fifteen minutes.

They stayed silent for some time drinking there coffee when Lora’s phone rang, it was the driver.

“Thanks a lot.” Lora said, handing him her cup.

"You're welcome." he replied, taking the cup of coffee from her.

Lora walked to the door, and then turned to look at him briefly before going out to meet the driver.
