Chapter 505: Chapter 505

The two most commonly used languages in the world now are foreign languages and Huaxia language, and apart from learning their native languages, these two languages are also a must for all countries.

He Jinxia originally graduated from high school, and in accordance with the high school curriculum requirements, her foreign language skills were sufficient to communicate fluently with foreigners and to watch news magazines published in foreign languages.

When she entered university, the foreign language she learned shifted to more advanced professional terminologies specific to certain industries.

The original host had not gone to university and had instead run off to become a star during her second year of high school. During her final year, she managed to study on her own in her spare time between engagements, and with passable grades, she received her diploma and did not continue her education.

Recently, studying foreign languages unearthed even older memories buried in her mind. Occasionally, He Jinxia dreamed at night, and her dreams were all about the past of the original host.

The original host’s entire educational experience from childhood seemed as if He Jinxia had lived through it herself, making her feel more integrated into this world.

So now this screenplay entirely in a foreign language posed no barrier to her.

On the filming set, Ola had already started the official shooting, and she passed with only two retakes, truly deserving of her Bachelor of Performing Arts degree.

Occasionally, He Jinxia would lift her head to relax and rest her brain, and she could see Ola sincerely acting. The others treated her quite well, but Director Wilson’s expression remained stern.

She reached up to massage her temples, feeling the pressure increase yet, at the same time, feeling more excited than ever.

This feeling of challenge had not appeared in a long time. She felt as if she was back to shooting her first film, "Chen Xiaohui, Go Forward!", with her blood boiling with excitement.

Time quickly passed, and soon it was afternoon, and it was time for He Jinxia’s character, Summer, and Ola to have their first real confrontation.

This scene depicted Ola being bullied by classmates, who surrounded her and shoved her, intending to slap her.

The classmates, resenting Ola for her excellent grades which always earned the teacher’s praise, felt alienated and thus harbored thoughts of bullying her, as if driving her away could rid them of their annoying homework.

Ola’s excellence caused dissatisfaction among many classmates, and since she often kept to her studies and barely communicated, her interpersonal relationships were a mess.

So much so that when she was bullied by several larger and stronger girls in the class, not a single student stood up for her; both boys and girls merely watched the spectacle.

He Jinxia’s character, "Summer", suddenly stepped forward and saved Ola.

In fact, Summer wasn’t exactly saving Ola; she was simply annoyed because they had blocked the classroom’s exit, and in her impatience, she shouted, "Get lost!" which frightened the other girls into retreating without laying a hand on Ola.

As Summer walked out, she passed by Ola, and seeing that the glasses she was wearing were broken and she was squatting on the ground wiping her tears, she looked pitiable. Summer offhandedly remarked:

"You only know how to bully the weak. If you really can’t stand her, surpass her in studies, not just with fists."

Finally, she added, "Only fools swing their fists; the smart ones command others to do so."

The scene ended only as Summer’s figure gradually moved away.

The difficulty of this scene lay in the pitiable appearance Ola had to portray while being bullied, and another challenge was He Jinxia.

The character of Summer, portrayed by He Jinxia, was the focal point of this scene, and everything about her—her demeanor, her actions, and her words—had to be magnified on screen.

Only by emphasizing Summer could the audience appreciate the special significance her appearance had for Ola.

In the script, Ola transforms from a typical, nerdy top student into a lively, cheerful, dance-savvy sunny girl, largely because of Summer.

Both were friends and rivals.

He Jinxia had her makeup done and arrived at the theater first.

She touched the shortened wig, feeling a special connection with short hair.

In her last movie, "High Energy Classroom," she had also appeared with short hair, playing a tomboy character. Xia Tian in this movie had many similarities with Deng Meili.

However, Deng Meili’s character was indifferent and aloof, while Xia Tian was world-weary and melancholic.

The production team delved deep into Xia Tian’s character. As the female lead, Ola, kept interacting with Xia Tian, she discovered that this seemingly unruly and arrogant tomboy was actually haunted by the demon of melancholy!

Not long after He Jinxia was ready, Ola’s makeup was done too. She wore thick eyeglass frames that seemed a centimeter thick, hiding her beautiful eyes.

Her blonde hair was tied into two braids, and her freckles were emphasized, giving off a rustic charm.

The bulky school uniform was unaltered, making her appear swollen and oversized—such a student would go unnoticed in any school.

Upon seeing each other’s costumes, both had a gleam of eagerness in their eyes.

"Scene ten, take one, Action!" The assistant snapped the clapperboard, and the actors immediately got into character.

Suddenly, a classmate entered the classroom and rudely pulled Ola, who was studying, out.

Ola looked bewildered, struggled a few times, and shouted, "What are you doing, hey, where are you taking me? Help—"

Someone suddenly covered her mouth with a hand, and Ola was pushed against the wall. A slap came swiftly, and she was struck across the face!

"Cut! Carly, your expression is off, let’s do it again!"

Carly was the actor who had slapped Ola. She nodded at the director, let go of Carly, and quickly apologized to her.

Ola shrugged it off, seemingly unconcerned, and they began filming again, but this time, it was the actor who dragged her out that made a mistake.

After three takes, they still couldn’t get the scene right, but the director was not in a hurry and continued filming.

If the director wasn’t worried, the actors were even less concerned.

He Jinxia watched from the side and noticed that one of Ola’s wrists was somewhat red from being grabbed, her brows furrowed.

A crisp, pleasing slap rang out, deepening her solemn expression. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ Nov3lFɪre.ɴet

She couldn’t be sure the first time, but by the second slap, she knew it was a real slap, not a fake one!

The competition in acting abroad was more intense than domestically. Domestic disputes were covert, whereas abroad, they were openly confrontational!

He Jinxia felt a heavy sensation in her heart, sensing that this shoot would not go smoothly.

She glanced around, thinking of a way to not only showcase her acting skills but also to intimidate the other actors, all without messing up!

Finally, after the bullying scene at the entrance was filmed, it was time for He Jinxia’s Xia Tian to make her entrance.
