Chapter 957: Chapter 957
"Whoa, that's so sexy!" Lin Chen immediately felt a bit restless.
Dozens of beautiful women dressed in nothing but leaves, holding bows and crossbows, were eyeing Lin Chen and his companions warily.
At that moment, the crowd parted, and a girl who resembled Lan Xingyue stepped forward.
The girl had a slender figure and an exquisite appearance, but the only thing that disappointed Lin Chen was that she was wearing modern clothes.
If she were also dressed in leaf attire, tsk tsk, she'd be a true stunner!
"Sister!" Upon seeing the girl, Lan Xingyue rushed forward excitedly.
However, the girl remained expressionless. "Stop. Who are you?"
"Sister, it's me, Xingyue. You don't recognize me?" Lan Xingyue halted in her tracks, her face full of confusion as she asked.
"Xingyue!" A trace of bewilderment flashed across the girl's face, as if she was trying to recall something.
"Sister, think hard. I'm Xingyue, your little sister!" Lan Xingyue said emotionally, taking a few more steps forward.
"Whoosh!" Just then, an arrow shot into the ground in front of Lan Xingyue.
"Didn't you hear my master tell you to stop?" A fierce, crossbow-wielding little girl snapped angrily.
Lan Xingyue seemed to remember something and pulled out her phone. "I have photos to prove it!"
As she spoke, Lan Xingyue tossed the phone over.
The girl caught the phone and froze when she saw the photos.
It was a picture of her and Lan Xingyue, standing together.
"You're really... my younger sister?" the girl asked in confusion.
At this moment, Lan Xingyue could no longer suppress her excitement and threw herself into the girl's arms.
"Sister, it's me, Xingyue. This is wonderful. You're still alive!" Lan Xingyue hugged the girl, crying tears of joy.
Though the girl was still somewhat puzzled, she couldn't help but return her sister's embrace.
The touching scene moved many onlookers to sigh quietly in their hearts.
But just then, a shadow quietly emerged from the underbrush, stealthily rising from the ground.
A glint of menace flickered in his eyes as he looked at the two sisters embracing. He brought a bamboo flute to his lips.
A sinister glint of cold light shot directly toward Lan Xingyue's back.
Almost simultaneously, Lin Chen spotted the cold light heading toward Lan Xingyue. He wanted to shout a warning, but it was already too late.
Lin Chen's body moved like lightning, appearing in front of Lan Xingyue in an instant.
The silver needle pierced into Lin Chen's body.
"Lin Chen!" Lan Xingyue's face changed immediately when she saw Lin Chen take the needle for her.
Lin Chen's body went limp and fell into Lan Xingyue's arms.
The sensation was soft and smooth in her arms!
Then everything turned to utter darkness.
In the darkness, Lin Chen heard a voice calling to him.
It was Zhao Xiaowen. She was wearing a purple top and a white short skirt, smiling at him.
"Xiaowen!" Lin Chen ran toward her, but just as he reached her, she turned and walked away.
No matter how hard he tried to chase her, he couldn't catch up.
Lin Chen abruptly opened his eyes, feeling a sharp pain through his body.
He touched his shoulder, where thick bandages were wrapped tightly.
Above him, bamboo slats formed the roof of a wooden hut. In the hut, several decorations made from animal bones were scattered about, and a piece of some unknown beast's hide hung on the wall.
"Where am I?" Lin Chen tried to sit up, but a sweet, melodious voice like an oriole's chirping stopped him.
"Don't move. You're still injured." The speaker was none other than the little girl with the crossbow from earlier.
A girl with a ponytail stood before him.
Her upper body was only covered by a few strategically placed leaves, while her lower half was clad in a grass skirt woven from leaves. Her tawny skin exuded a sensual beauty.
Feeling Lin Chen's fiery gaze, the girl's delicate face turned slightly red, a crimson blush rising to her cheeks.
She leaned forward and touched Lin Chen's forehead.
"What the hell? Miss, are you trying to seduce me?"
"Calm down. Stay calm," Lin Chen muttered to himself.
The girl, noticing his embarrassed but flushed face, couldn't help but laugh.
"Hey, are all you outsiders this shy?"
Finally, unable to bear it any longer, Lin Chen closed his eyes tightly.
Despite his burning frustration, he reminded himself that she was barely seventeen or eighteen, had saved his life, and deserved respect. How could he even think of such an animalistic act?
Just then, the room filled with the girl's bell-like laughter. "You boys are so funny!"
"What... what happened to me?" Lin Chen asked, feeling the pain throbbing in his head.
The girl chuckled. "You were hit by a poisoned needle and passed out. You've been asleep for a whole day and night."
"I see." Lin Chen was slightly startled. The poison had been potent enough to knock him out for a full day and night.
"Master, you should be grateful. That guy used one of Earth's deadliest poisons, made from the Baidu Grass. If it were anyone else, they'd have died countless times by now." Xiao Shuai's voice echoed in his mind, mocking him.
"What about the rest of my teammates?" Lin Chen asked.
"Those men with guns keep lurking around. The older girls are figuring out a plan to deal with them," the girl replied.
"By the way, my name is Ku Si. You're Lin Chen, right?" the girl said with a sweet smile.
"That's me." Lin Chen checked his body through internal observation. The poisoned needle had already been surgically removed, and the toxins had been purged thanks to the vitality within him.
While their treatment had been well-intentioned, it had been completely unnecessary. It only resulted in an additional wound for him to bear.
Lin Chen sat up on the bed and stretched.
"Hey, don't move recklessly! Your wound could reopen," Ku Si exclaimed nervously.
"Relax. I'm fine," Lin Chen reassured her as he jumped off the bed.
"Are you insane? My master said the poison you were hit with is extremely potent. You're supposed to rest for at least a month!"
"That's for other people. Your big brother here is already fully recovered," Lin Chen said, smiling.
"Let's go check out what's happening outside." Hearing gunshots from beyond the hut, Lin Chen's expression turned serious.
"Okay!" Ku Si picked up a crossbow and followed closely behind him.
In the jungle surrounding their territory, dozens of indigenous women armed with crossbows held their positions with unwavering focus.
Lan Xingyue and the others stood with their guns raised, their expressions equally grim.
They had just repelled several enemy assaults, and the enemy had been unexpectedly quiet for hours, likely preparing for an even larger attack.
Suddenly, the ground began to tremble. Dust clouds rose from a clearing in the distance.
"What the hell is that?!" Everyone's expressions changed drastically.
A native girl swiftly descended from a towering ancient tree, her face pale with terror.
"This is bad! They're sending yaks to lead the attack!" the native girl exclaimed in horror.
