Chapter 939: Chapter 939

Lin Chen and his team of four quietly infiltrated the forest, their figures moving like shadows in the jungle. In just a few swift steps, they were already beside the alert mercenaries.

The mercenaries had not noticed the four at all. At that moment, Lan Xingyue made a throat-slitting gesture.

The four moved almost simultaneously, Lin Chen suddenly appearing behind one of the mercenaries.

Before the mercenary could react, Lin Chen covered his mouth with one hand while his dagger sliced cleanly, blood spraying everywhere as the mercenary collapsed to the ground.

Another mercenary noticed his fallen comrade and was just about to respond when Lin Chen's dagger flew out, directly piercing the mercenary's heart.

Lin Chen quickly rushed to the mercenary's body, carefully holding him to gently lay him down on the ground.

In just a matter of seconds, Lin Chen had silently killed two mercenaries.

At almost the same time, the other vigilant mercenaries were also killed by Lan Xingyue's team.

The group's movements were swift and precise, so much so that even the mercenaries eating their meals hadn't noticed anything amiss.

Lan Xingyue made a hand gesture to the team, and all four pulled out grenades simultaneously.

"Three, two, one!" Lan Xingyue counted down with her gestures.

As soon as Lan Xingyue signaled, she and the others threw their grenades almost simultaneously.

"Boom boom boom boom!" Accompanied by four muffled explosions, the grenades accurately landed in the mercenary camp where they were resting.

Gunfire erupted at the same time, and a wave of screams echoed across the mercenary camp.

The mercenaries were busy feasting and drinking, entirely unprepared for such a sudden attack.

In the blink of an eye, more than ten mercenaries collapsed into pools of blood.

The surviving mercenaries scrambled to grab their weapons, seeking cover to fight back.

But Lin Chen's team gave them no opportunity; they were like four sharp daggers plunging into the enemy's heart, relentlessly harvesting mercenary lives.

Lin Chen moved like a phantom, leaping through the jungle, and in just moments, eight mercenaries had already fallen by his hand.

"Damn it, these guys are demons! Retreat!" Kab's furious roar rang out.

But just as they broke through a few feet, gunfire erupted again, and another seven or eight mercenaries were gunned down into blood-soaked earth.

In the end, only five mercenaries managed to escape the encirclement.

Yet after running just ten meters or so, two more mercenaries were gunned down and fell to the ground.

Ultimately, only two mercenaries accompanied Kab in fleeing the siege.

After running a few steps, they abruptly halted, their eyes fixed on a young man standing not far ahead holding a bloodied dagger.

The man's expression was icy, his gaze deadly, like a leopard watching its prey, mocking the three.

"Get him! Kill him!" Kab's face hardened as he shouted orders to the two mercenaries behind him.

The two mercenaries raised their rifles and aimed at Lin Chen.

"Bang bang bang!" Gunshots rang out, with bullets raining toward Lin Chen like a storm.

Seeing the torrent of bullets aimed at Lin Chen, Kab's face twisted into a savage grin.

"Boy, you dare obstruct me, Kab? You're looking for death!"

But in the next moment, his grin froze, as he witnessed a horrifying scene he'd never forget for the rest of his life.

Lin Chen's figure unexpectedly vanished before his eyes, reappearing instantly in front of the two mercenaries firing their rifles.

Blood spurted, two large gashes appearing on the necks of both mercenaries, their eyes filled with unwillingness and terror as they collapsed to the ground.

"You… You're not human… You're a devil," Kab stuttered, pointing at Lin Chen, his face filled with fear.

Lin Chen smiled faintly, "What's this? The mighty leader of the Skull Corps knows fear? When you were slaughtering defenseless African civilians, did you ever think they might also feel afraid?"

Kab's eyes flashed with cruelty as he suddenly pulled out a grenade.

"Boy, I'll admit you're strong, but if I can't have it, neither will you." He sneered and removed the safety pin, planning to die together with Lin Chen.

At that moment, Lin Chen's eyes radiated a golden light.

Kab's body trembled violently, his hand holding the grenade suddenly frozen.

Just then, Lan Xingyue and the others rushed over. Unexpectedly, Kab fell to his knees before Lin Chen with a thud.

"This can't be happening!" Shock filled everyone's faces.

Kab was not just any man; he was the leader of the Skull Corps, a ruthless figure. Even in captivity, he shouldn't have submitted so easily to Lin Chen.

"What's your mission this time?" Lin Chen asked coldly.

Kab's eyes showed a moment of struggle before he replied, "Our mission was to retrieve this box behind me."

As he spoke, Kab removed the box strapped to his back and handed it to Lin Chen.

It was a square box of peculiar design, rust covering its surface. Strangely, aside from a single square opening, there appeared to be no way to open it.

"What is this?" Lin Chen asked, puzzled.

Kab shook his head. "I don't know. Master Hahn instructed me to lead the team into this forest to find it."

Lin Chen fiddled with the box for a while but couldn't find a way to open it.

"We've been studying this box for quite some time, but there's no way to unlock it," Kab explained.

Lin Chen nodded. "Tell me about this 'Master Hahn.'"

Mentioning Hahn caused Kab's face to change slightly.

Suddenly, Lin Chen's ears picked up a faint ticking sound.

Lin Chen's expression shifted, and he kicked Kab away.

Kab's body flew into the air, exploding into a cloud of blood mist.

Everyone gasped at the gruesome scene.

Luckily, Lin Chen had been quick enough; otherwise, his team would have been caught in the blast.

"That man triggered the bomb inside his body!" Lan Xingyue's face paled.

"No, he didn't trigger it himself. Someone remotely detonated the bomb inside him," Lin Chen said gravely.

With Lin Chen's mental control over him, Kab couldn't have chosen to self-destruct without orders. The only explanation was remote activation by someone else.

"Damn it. These people have such advanced technology to control their subordinates," Lin Chen muttered, frustrated he hadn't extracted more information about Hahn.

In the African jungle, a military jeep sped forward. Hahn held a remote control in his hand, his face twisted in rage.

"Kab, that fool. Losing the box, and even trying to betray me? Unacceptable!"

"Master, I'll lead the troops into the forest at once," Ge Lei said grimly.

Hahn's gaze turned icy. "Idiot. Our soldiers are valuable. Let the Red Turban Army handle it. They're seasoned hunters in this primitive forest."
